This is super helpful! I was wondering if I have to select the setting before I start shooting, or can I choose the setting later? For example if I want to do hyperlapse or freeze frame, do I have to select it prior to shooting? Or Can I select it after when editing?

Cinema in the early days had the problem of HUGE cameras. They even had to dig pits in the ground to get the camera low enough for low angle shots haha.

Great instructional video. I'm really hesitant in buying the Insta 360 but I am afraid that my PC is a little outdated to edit the 8K footage in Adobe Premiere Pro. What PC minimum requirements do you recommend? Currently I have Intel Core i7 9750H, 16GB RAM and GeForce GTX 1660 Ti

What phone do you use to edit your videos? The phone I have, although it exceeds the minimum system requirements that insta360 has listed on their site for the app. It still stutters and lags so bad that it's completely unusable. And comically enough I don't have a PC that can run the software. Hoping I can upgrade my phone to something that's capable of editing these videos. Any thoughts you have on my situation would be greatly appreciated!

If there is a setting to add front and rear camera photos separately. So you will not have to move away from the camera while taking 360 images. When away from the camera, the camera falls off and the lens gets damaged.
No as it would be a nightmare to stitch a video that is out of sync on either side. You can just use a weighted monopod instead 👍🏻

I’m trying to record 360 videos to view in VR. Is this mostly for flat videos? I have the insta360 X (which I know it’s a bit outdated) and my videos don’t look sharp what so ever 😢

To be fair, since you show a clip of Citizen Kane, Olson Welles in Touch of Evil gives a masterclass with the one continues 3 minute tracking shot in the opening scene. But no doubt people have the attention span of a nat today. Imagine what Welles would do with an Insta360 camera.

The Insta cam and the Selfie stick it’s a cam they need to pay me a lot money before I use or promote them. For anything you have to pay extra when you go with Insta. To make an Epic Video you need first a story and not effects. And from artist point of view you need mainly a good audio and here Insta sucks total. For example for just footsteps I use more than 70000 samples and foleys. This is just a basic set. The Chinese marketing is mainly focused on effects Ben. My typical postproduction template just for audio have 700 audio channels as a basic setup for sounddesign and music. I think this course is good for beginners and advanced Beginners to learn some technics.
I did learn a lot from you on the Photoalbum you did in cologne. But just effects means thinking in shots… important are logical scenes when it comes to video.
For example I use sets of microphones and doing Dolby Atmos. One good microphone is in a range of 1500-3000 $. And here I see in China just poor quality.
Question: I know you only do tiny planets how come you don’t make 360 video I mean show how do it on CZcams show how easy to set up?? just saying we never gone beyond 2d format.. just swish there was more just to show how powerful 360 video is
Hey- I actually do so much more than just tiny planets 😁 that said I understand your question- I think you’re referring to interactive 360 video for VR? I don’t do it much as reframed content gets far higher engagement than VR content. That said, I do love the immersive medium and will be making more of it in the future (as well as tutorials covering it).
@@BenClaremont that’s why I said it.. hehe but just thinking I mean CZcams took out VR mode that’s reason I said that.. I mean I wish people use 360 videos more and encourage to learn that they can use iPhone to tablets in CZcams 360 to scroll around because I mean we in 2023 should we be pass flat mode format already? That’s the thing it’s sad really how slow filming is in advancement and no one really pushing it..

Hey Ben, i have watched a bunch of your videos as a new insta 360 x3 owner, i would have benefited greatly by your course but $150 is just too much, after spending $600 on the camera and extras who has anther $150 sitting around. I know your time is valuable but I was guessing the course was going to be $50 or something. JMO. Larry

Is there a trick to hide the awkward hand position holding the "invisible" stick, It look so unnatural to hold the hand in the air like this.:)
Just extend the selfie stick far enough that you can keep your hand low and hidden

No movie that's fair enough never had omitted the basic rule of placing interest on crossing the lines of thirds... Not even one.
