Hi friends! Join me for a relaxing whispered look at an old (dare I call it "vintage"?) issue of PC Gamer magazine from March 2005! This one hits right in the nostalgia with a preview of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and PC Gamer's 2004 Games of the Year article featuring classics like Half Life 2, Doom 3, and many more. I always enjoy checking out what hardware was popular at the time, too, especially because this was around the time I built my first PC! I’m coming 19 soon and I’m really into early 2000s PC games, I never experienced this era growing up but it’s still somehow weirdly nostalgic, looking at what was considered super graphically revolutionary back then, thank you for this! DUUUUUDE! I remember this exact magazine! I was SO excited for the game on the front of the magazine. It looked so amazing, and I even remember telling my mom that the graphics in Oblivion were going to be even better than real life...

I played Snowblind for a bit. There was a cool spider drone mechanic. Occasionally your view would get jammed by Enemies and you would get static on the screen. You would become “Snowblind”
I really loved the intro, the elevator music was a nice touch.

My local library has a ton of old gaming magazines, and sometimes they sell off extra copies. Many libraries do this so definitely worth checking out!
Many of these mags are still entertaining to read whether it's for nostalgia, a glimpse into the industry of the past, or even as inspiration.
I love old video game magazines. I'd love to collect them, but it's too much to worry about, so I settled for collecting video game guides only and looking at scans of mags when I can.
