  • Denny cruises around downtown, Indian Canyon, and Canyon View Estates in this amazing 1965 Corvair Corsa turbo !
Sorry not much turbo sound, the engine was just rebuilt and the owners asked that it not be revved too high.
The Indian Canyon area is spectacular year round

The second generation Corvairs had the best lines of any 1960's American compact, in my opinion. Such a beautiful, clean, sexy design--the convertible, coupe and even the 4-door hardtop looked fantastic. Love them in this color!

i had one of these, an aquamarine blue Corsa convertible with a black top and the four-carb 140 engine. Supposedly it was a Yenko Chevrolet special, ordered and sold by the large Chevrolet dealer in Chicago by that name.
I got it maybe in 1971 and sold it in late '73 or so.
I put higher-performance shocks and tires on it and did a little gymkhana-ing with it. It cornered very well, flat and fairly-well controlled.
The carbs were constantly in need of synchronization but I learned to do it quickly. On the other hand, the acceleration was crisp and instantaneous, unlike the turbos.
It had a power convertible top! Unheard of to us Brit sports car owners- my Corsa replaced an MGB and was in turn replaced by a new Triumph Spitfire Mk IV.
That car did a fine job for me but even then it was beginning to rust. It had been cruelly "undercoated" as a rustrproofing scheme.

My mom had one just like this one, except light blue and a white convert top. This car was so much fun. She would take it to the drive in theater, put the top down, and watch the movie. Going to the lake with the top down was great. She could buzz to and from and all around in that car. Heck, m8y dad would take me on Sundays on my paper route and I delivered out of this car. Wish I had bought it from my sister who inherited it as her first car at age 16 in 1972.

One of the reviews that was short & to the point , & covered it all ! Well done . & that is a very nice 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa Convertible with the optional 180 Turbo Charger ! Standard engine for the Corsa was the 140 HP engine & was optional on all other models ( Monza & 500 ) 2nd gen. ( late model ) The Corsa model was only available in two model years 1965 & 1966 ! & I'm lucky enough to own 3 Corvairs , & one being a 65 Corsa Coupe 180 Turbo Charged ! & your right they are fun to drive at any speed ! Thanks for the scenic ride along , & video .

Mine lost all power climbing one of the passes on 190 before stovepipe wells. I figured it was fried. After cooling for about 4 hours it started up like nothing ever happened. I drove off and finished the trip.

Chevy could have made this a "world car" if they had tried to sell it as such. Easy left or right hand steering conversion.
