  • Is the electric car revolution stalling? Nearly 50% of EV owners in the US and Australia are considering switching back to petrol cars! 🚗💥 Discover why inadequate charging infrastructure, high costs, and range anxiety are pushing drivers away from EVs. Learn how global trends compare and what it means for the future of electric vehicles. From tax benefits to logistical nightmares, this video covers it all.
While many EV owners are still committed, a significant number are facing challenges that make petrol cars more appealing. In the US and Australia, the lack of sufficient charging stations and the high cost of EV ownership are major deterrents. Even with government efforts to improve infrastructure, the transition isn’t smooth for everyone, leading to a growing frustration among EV users.
Globally, the trend is similar, with an average of 29% of EV owners contemplating a switch back to internal combustion engines. Countries like Brazil and China also show significant numbers of discontented EV users. Join the conversation and share your thoughts on the EV dilemma!

Sorry mate, despite the EVs being useful tools for local use where there are reduced rate chargers available. The initial cost, and massive depreciation makes them an expensive toy. Especially if the set your house on fire. Garages do not or cannot want to work on them and insurance companies do not want to insure them, and vessels do not want to transport them, and apartment blocks do not want them in their basement garages.
They are basically a lost cause, and finally the public's is seeing through the WEF backed government BS.

I 100% agree with you. You've summed it all up on a nutshell. The batteries are still highly inefficient old technology. 1800's invention? No wonder we went over to ICE vehicles!

    • @ianemery2925
      @ianemery2925 Před měsícem +2

Lol, nearly every anti EV trope going back 10 years (you forgot to claim the battery will only last 3 years).
Now manufacturers have stopped trying to compete with Tesla, there are plenty of new models costing the same - or less than, a base model Ford Focus 1.0L.
Depreciation is no worse than ICE; the curve is slightly different, but after 5-7 years, EVs are holding their value better than ICE; the perceived high depreciation was caused by certain car makers trying to position badly designed EV conversions as premium models; once a realistic price tag was settled on, even below average EVs sell.
I have had no issues insuring my EV, it cost exactly the same as my last ICE.
I have had no issues with garages working on my car; sure, many small non dealer garages dont have the skills for the electronics or traction battery, but they will have to learn those skills or go bust; as all modern cars are full of electronics; regardless of fuel type.
EVs rarely catch fire (outside of Chinese made cars built for the Chinese market), not like ICE cars which are renowned for bursting into flames, especially after a crash.
There are no restrictions on the transport of EVs on ferries or car transporters; and I only know of one place that stopped EVs using their basement garage - although that was because the EV chargers in that basement garage were being replaced and the sign was meant to be referring to that (Alder hey Children's Hospital)
Meanwhile, EV market penetration has reached a global average of 17%; with sales of EVs growing, while sales of ICE keep falling.
In other words, you are full of it.

For everyday use, I don't see a problem with EVs, as long as you have a home charger, and don't do a lot of long journeys. For me, I very rarely journey more than a hundred miles from home, so if I had home charging I'd have no problem driving an EV as my daily. Of course, I'd have a petrol car for weekend use, as well. But the reasons I don't consider an EV as a daily driver have little to do with not having a home charger or the wider charging infrastructure. For me, I have concerns over the cost of insurance, and the risks and serious consequences of EV fires. Moreover, I have a moral objection to a product that requires slave/child labour in terrible conditions to produce it, and its production pre-loads the environment with the equivalent of up to 90k miles of ICE emissions.

    Lies, damned lies, and statistics.
You have to look at the people behind the survey and who was paying for it; every survey I have seen from leasing companies say that 90% of EV drivers are choosing another EV; even in the USA.
I dont really know what is going on in Australia., but there wasnt a single public charger in all of New South Wales, last time I looked; and the huge distances between towns/cities are a challenge, even in an ICE car.
In the US, every Republican controlled state is rabidly anti-EV, and are making it as difficult and expensive as possible both to buy them, and to install the infrastructure needed to charge them; no wonder people are struggling ($200+ "EV TAX" every year, on top of all other taxes in some states); and a lack of cheap overnight, or dedicated EV tariffs to charge them at home.
China is a very special case; until roughly 24 months ago; the few locally made EVs were piles of crap - made to the absolute minimum spec that would trigger a payment from the CCP; most of these cars were so awful, they went straight to landfill.
Newer cars are much better;designs, but the race to the bottom price-wise means that corners are being cut - 99% of all the EV fires recorded officially, or unofficially, in the world last year, were Chinese built cars in China; including BYD.
If photos were allowed, I would upload some of an early Chinese EV; that I took myself on the streets of Nanning, back in late 2018/early 2019; it was a complete clown car.

You mentioned dementia twice and it is a worry for EVs.
We have all seen those awful bizarre accidents which are an early sign of dementia, when a pensioner wrong foots their automatic Nissan Micra and doubles down on their pedal choice until a collision takes place.
When that starts becoming commonplace in EVs, serious casualties will occur.

Depreciation makes EV cars a disposable purchase, as once the batteries die off, the cost of replacement puts them straight in the scrapyard - which you will probably have to pay for soon given the risk of fire and chemical contamination
