Thx man, I super appreciate it 😊
sorry f tis ha salereday being asked, but could it be possible to mod a pro controller or even a joycon to have the same joysticks as hori uses on their controllers, is just that i have 2 hori branded controllers(split pad and pro pad) and the joysticks have never given me any trouble so i was thinking could this be done,
It's okay, I would answer this question again if it was asked already so you're good.
First you would have to see if the Hori joysticks have the same pins as the switch pro controller joystick. For this you would need to disassemble the Hori game pad and refer to my video showing the joystick component. If they do have the same pins in the same spots you can very well mount them in a switch pro controller. If not it would take some modding to get them to work correctly. This means tracing leads back and rewiring.
Thanks so much for your comment and I hope I could point you in the right direction
Hi! I accidentally lifted the middle pad of the horizontal potentiometer on the right analog stick. Is it repairable at all? Can't seem to find if that pad leads anywhere, using a multimeter.
I see good question, I would say scrape back the solder mask near where you lifted that pad and you should see the trace that leads to the pad. You could solder a small wire that leads from the revealed trace to the actual solder point on the horizon potentiometer. That's what I usually do if I lift a pad
question about soldering new analog sticks, after it being done I notice the deadzone is way off meaning on a 2,4,8,10 o'clock angle, its registering at 100% rather than an 80%. is there a fix to this or am I doing something wrong, it becomes more sensitive.
Good question, if you try to recalibrate the controller in the switch settings and it's still out of wack and you have inspected the solder job and it looks good then the only thing it could be is the new part. I've had bad experiences getting bad parts from what I think are good companies due to ratings on Amazon. I would suggest trying to get your part on digikey or mouser. They would be the best bet for a high quality part.
