These were actually some really nice tips. Had the same problem when I first started working with blender. Find an industry you like, product rendering, product animations, arch-viz, explain animations etc. and set your self as the business who would create value to that industry. Know the value that you bring into the market and start approaching business and solve objectives for them. You cant believe how many business are not aware what 3d can offer to them. Just with some product renders and animations you can help them increase their sales substantially.
What you said is true. I started learning 3D four years ago. When I started looking for a job, I found out that there are very few job opportunities for Blender, or they accept Blender but you also need to understand game engines, and other 3D software. So I found a graphic design job. I tried to use it in my work whenever possible (but rarely and not necessary). Then I came to my current company. "Discuss with customers, products preview, order materials, estimate prices, communicate with masters"...all need 3D. I mainly use Blender for work now. But I must say, my previous job gave me a good experience, not only helping me find my current job (this job also includes graphic design), but also getting me started quickly (understand what design work is all about). This was something I didn't expect.
So glad I found your channel, man. This is exactly the kind of information I need before trying to make decisions. Also, I originally got into blender to incorporate 3D into my shopify store because I wanted to make some cool ads. 9k subscribers is injustice, but I get the feeling it's about to be 10x soon. Keep up the content!
This is new point of view ! The reality and root problems you've explained are so true. Many thanks dude ! Keep sharing and explaining the reality in this 3d world and solutions to solve it brother. Good job !
I already knew about some of these reasons but you broke each and everyone down so well. There's an untapped market in my country regarding 3D animations. So many setbacks on my end but I'm working towards finding a foothold and making the most of it. Just subscribed and I'd be watching the rest. Thank you.
This is exactly all i need to know ! Thanks for confirming that by choosing blender, the only route available is freelance ! And thanks for your video !
Thank you soo much. Everything you said here is true. It seems you were talking to me directly. I'm really glad you made this video because I've been really confused so about this topic for so long. Thanks so much.
It is funny becouse I make money only with Blender. Not very much, but you can do it. It is like with everything in this world. If mistakes and problems stop you and do not motivate you, then you never do it right way.
useful information as always Wenbo. You might want to check your instagram link as it's broken. I have few ideas what to do in business wise with blender/ retoucher and would love to hear your thoughts if you have a moment. Right, I'm gonna watch your tutorials. :)
Simple answer, even if you had a paid software, you'd still not make money. You are using blender because you are not making money, not the other way around.
while capable, it remains fucking horrible to work with if you're used to anything else.. ever.. even old software on amiga was more userfriendly than blender.... yes it's "better" than it was 20 years ago.. but still.. goddamn.. fucking.. awful...
