Here’s the other thing: there was just no need to constantly compare Neidhart to Bret Hart throughout the rest of their careers. They had different styles and personas. There was no reason to wonder why Neidhart didn’t “become like Bret.” He was always different from Bret anyways. Whereas Michaels and Jannetty in the Rockers were portrayed as clones of each other at the time. So it then seemed weird that they had such contrasting levels of success afterward.
And I think for kids who remember the breakup at the time, it’s made worse that Marty was the babyface. We were told to root for Marty instead of Shawn, and, ugh... didn’t go well. If we could have just enjoyed seeing the heel fail, it wouldn’t have been so traumatizing. But Marty Jannetty became a constant and painful reminder that nice guys finish last.

Police in Columbus, Georgia confirmed that they would investigate the post. Jannetty later clarified that he did not kill the man, but he hit him in the head with a brick after an attempted sexual assault and "made [him] disappear". Now they won't be pushed anytime soon likely because of this, because Vince now probably thinks we don't care about either.

  • @michaelreborn9656

Firstly, I would like to add to Oliver's list of requirements with the following:
A Janetty is someone from a tag team that, despite being split from said team, continues to try to hang around awkwardly as though he or she is still living in the glory days of when he was actually relevant. I always got the sense whenever I saw Marty Janetty in a match that he just didn't belong and no one really wanted him to be there but he was anyways, which made seeing him always feel awkward. He never really changed his look or any other aspect of his persona. He looked like some guy dragged off the street and was put into wrestling gear. Very sad.
    Other Janetty's -
Heath Slater was Janetty'd multiple times - He was the Janetty of The Nexus, The CORRE, even the Janetty of his own stable 3MB...he was Janetty'd. The other members of 3MB: Jinder became WWE Champion, and McIntyre is dominating on RAW. Oh, and Social Outcasts I think were just a whole band of Janetty's right there, but it's sad that even then the other two members became tag champs as The B Team...cringe.
Also, I guess you could say that Curt Hawkins is the Janetty of the Major Bros/Edge Heads. At least Zac(k) Ryder got to be IC and US champion.
