      +InnerFidelity You could get a much cheaper and better sounding desktop mic and just merge the audio with your video during the editing process.

      +Semont Mentos Exactly, as mentioned here, you could purchase a mic such as the Blue Snowball or Yeti, record the audio on both your camera and via the mic, and then simply sync the audio in post. This is a very common practice and some suggest clapping at the start of the video to make it easier to sync, and then trimming the clap out. Honestly, it would make your videos so much better to watch!

    When an "audiophile" says there's "too much bass" that's a strong *buy* signal for me! And assuming that this is an un-amped review, I will add my amp to sweeten the sound even further. I don't consider V-Moda M-100 a true basshead thumper can like the JVC SZ2000 or the Fostex TH-900 but it is a beautiful entry in the basshead roster of greats. So, I'm going to take this review as a *buy*

    I don't know what's wrong with you people? We're here for the review, his words. This video is not for audiophile pleasure listening experience. And tyll would buy a new mic if he could, but after spending $2000 on his camera which has an audio bug, it's not really surprising he's having trouble spending more on recording gear. Guys give him a break. His review is still amazing. Listen to his words not the hiss lol.

    For me the problem with the Crossfade Wireless isn't so much the boosted bass (which I like) but the aggressively scooped out midrange. The exaggerated peak at 3.5khz also gives them quite a piercing, transistor radio like sound (the XL earpads only exacerbate this issue). The overall sound is very, very coloured and won't suit music that puts any emphasis on midrange instruments or vocals.
    For most genres (including for bassheads) I think there are much better choices unless you like a very v-shaped sound with an aggressive peak in low treble.

  • @MusicOfMario
    @MusicOfMario Před 8 lety +2

    the bass is not even close for bass heavy, maybe because i have the xl pads and the sound signatures is warmer, sound stage is great. i had own many bass heavy headphones like sony and sol repuplic and the m 100m. what happens is that the xl pads separates you far from the driver..

      Strange comment about the sound stage. I just bought these rn cuz they are on sale at $110 and i need wireless headphones. But i hear little to no sound stage at all. Do the XL pads make that much of a difference?

    I have the vmoda XS and although I haven't listen the Wireless I think I'd prefer the sound of the XS. They are amazing with movies, I imagine Wireless being like a home theatre with lots of bass and rumble. And I prefer the XS cinema like type of sound, with more detail but still enough bass.

    +InnerFidelity Great review! Thanks to you I'm now stuck between this and Sennheiser momentum 2.0 wireless. Setting aside the price, which one would you prefer? For me, comfort, battery life, durability are major factors to consider, + if it can be folded. I have high regards on your opinion as it would help a lot especially on these pricey cans. Thanks, More power!

    Saw Phonon SMB-02 Subtonic on your website, hope you can do a video review of them because am curious about these headphones. Only read them on a couple of websites, they look similar to Sony MDR Series ( 7506, V6, CD900ST ) having circular shape ear cup but nearly double-to-triple the amount of the Sony headphones. The older version of Audio Technica M30's was also mentioned.

    I agree. I bought these but was disappointed. Didn't return them because it uses the latest Bluetooth so when I use them on my iPhone and TV you don't notice any latency at all which is great. I do have to say they do get better with time but I still prefer my Phillip M2BT sound which is another headphone around 260-300 dollars. The reason I bought these is because the M2BT which I love have horrible build quality and the ear pads started to fall apart and Phillips has no way to replace them. Keep it up with wireless headphones reviews. Someone will get this right.

Would like to hear your 2 cents on em.

    I have absolutely nothing against this reviewer on a personal level. In fact, I find him to be rather amiable and personable. This said, using a oscilloscope to measure frequency response is well outside of anything remotely practical in terms providing a general guideline about how any set of headphones sound. This is why people should take a grain of salt with anything any of these headphones reviewers say.

    Hi. I was wondering if you could do a review on the sennheiser hd 6 mix. they seem like they're a great bang for the buck. It looks like they compete against the V-moda m100, and the ATH-M50X, Urbanite XL, etc (any good bass, and accurate headphone). So yea if you ever get a chance id like to hear a review from you. Thnx

    Tyll, I totally respect your opinion, but how can there be such a difference in reviews? The Gaming Audiophile, and a lot of other people on Head Fi are saying these are great sounding headphones, and you're saying you can't even recommend these for music listening...and you say how much these sound like the M-100, you liked those, but the CFW aren't even good enough for music? Like I said, I totally respect your opinion, but just wondering why such the opposite sides of the spectrum...thank you, and love your reviews

      +matthew shove Sound is subjective. Also maybe biased due to them getting the headphones for free :) But this is the first time I've seen anyone do any kind of response curve measurement which i really like. You can always compare the response curve to other headphones to get an idea of how they sound. But as he says, Listen to them before buying them.
      I went to the local hi-fi store and tried the Denon AH-GC20, which I thought would be a nice buy but found them quite distant and muffled in the sound even though their clarity and soundstage was amazing.

      @jonathanjones7681 Před 8 lety

      I have both the m50x and m100. I like both I'd give comfort slightly to the m50x not that the m100 isn't comfortable. Sound I'd give it slightly to the m50x it holds the bass while not mudding the mids and the m100 can do that time to time. If your using on the go I'd say the m100 since it has a mic if that doesn't matter edge to m50x. I've listened to the momentum and while good it's imo no better then the m50x and only slightly better then the m100.

    • @itsLuisG
      @itsLuisG Před 7 lety

      If you use it in wireless mode, then it will use its own headphone amp, and it might be slightly better than your onboard computer or mobile amp. But if you have a decent dedicated sound device, then It will not perform as good as it if was in wired mode.
      But this headphone has a different sound signature, I think is just one step away from v-moda m100, they tried to improved it, but they made it a little bit worse.

    don't believe this guy, they are not too bassy. they're just ok. Got these today and I am disappointed. The controls are placed awkwardly and they feel so cheap. the stock cushions are a bit hard and small. they feel a bit like on-ear headphones. the sound is ok not outstanding , do not believe the hype and think that these are gonna blow you away. apart from the cheap plasticy buttons they feel sturdy and premium.
