In today’s vlog I bring you along with us on a trip to explore another side of The Netherlands, we go walking in Zaandam! The city is located only 12 minutes away by train from the Amsterdam urban area but we decided to go on the adventurous route and bike all the way from Sloterdijk station (Amsterdam) to Zaandam. The bike ride usually takes 1 hour but it only took us 40 minutes.
We spend some time wandering around in the beautiful Stadhuisplein and saw the postcard of this city, the Inntel Hotel, a very unique hotel that is famous for its "lego-like" architecture.
We also try some local food on a boat restaurant in the Main Street of the city before heading to the most beautiful part of the area, The Zaanse Schans. In this area we see the famous Dutch Windmills that you often see in postcards.

Visited in September 2022 for a day trip to the windmills and going to stay in the big hotel in zaandam in April for our 10th wedding anniversary

hello did you went inside the museums? how much time did you spend in zaanse schans?
Because of the restrictions, the museums were closed when we went but they are all open by now.
One full day is enough to see everything 😉

I don't remember exactly how much we spent that day but it's a super affordable trip from Amsterdam. Just a regular train ticket (or bike if you feel adventurous like us), and the sights are free! :-)
