This red silicone mermaid tail was repainted purple, red, orange and yellow for a new client. Mermaid Kaida had commissioned the original tail from our studio back in 2018. When she recently sold it the client had us repaint it and give it a little more love to lighten the weight and make it last for years to come. This three year old silicone tail was repaired, had a new fluke attached with a new monofin and all the fins were cut off and reattached after painting. This flaming betta tail is so vibrant now! My favourite part is the flaming coral pattern on the fluke.

What paint did you use? I can’t find anything that works.

Platinum silicone such as Smooth-On's Dragonskin can only be painted with PsychoPaint by Smooth-On. For this repaint I used diluted Shin-Etsu because it was an old tail and new PsychoPaint may not have adhered properly.
