    I’ve watched the video a couple of times now and all i can say is that it gets me emotional when i watch it. All of the hard work i put into the game is really coming to fruition and I’m so thankful to AmigaBill for bringing new content to the Amiga scene, it is exactly what i am trying to do with new games and through my tutorial series. The video is nothing short of brilliant and thanks again to Bill and the community for promoting it.

      Wow, I am speechless. This is the highest compliment I can receive. Thank You Graeme. I can't contribute to the community by making games or software or anything like that, but video is my thing so that is what I have to offer. This made my weekend!

    Not needing an accelerator card, and hitting 50 FPS on a stock A1200 is a testament to McGeezer's aptitude for coding. The box art is special too - brilliant achievement!

      Nice to see that these old systems like the Amiga STILL have a lot of love from people who grew up with them. The fact that people are making arcade ports AND totally new games AND even hardware for these old systems shows that there is STILL a market for retro gaming.
      On that note, check out The 8-Bit Guy's "My perfect computer" project, where he and his team are creating an 8/16 bit computer ala' the Commodore 64 from scratch:

    Nice video Bill. It's a great game but very difficult. Greane and his team done a tremendous job with Rygar. I was also given a boxed version and I was over the moon to be one of those ten. I watched the entire Interview stream on Twitch and really enjoyed it and it was very interesting to hear about how it was done. Thank you for making this Video. I agree with you about looking at the screenshots on the back of boxes. I also did that loads in the old days.

      Cheers Jamie! It is very difficult, I agree. I am really glad you got a boxed edition as well. That is well deserved! Thanks for tuning into the stream and asking great questions. I really appreciate the support. Speaking of that, as I am typing I seem to remember that you made a Rygar video as well. I will go check it out.

    Rygar is the game I always wished was on the Amiga, back in the day. This was such an amazing game. I did purchase the PS4 version of the game and find that it's good, but the timing is just off a little bit. I think perhaps the problem is the analogue controller versus digital via the arcade. Hybris was also one of the first Amiga titles I saw and could not believe it was a home computer. Weeks later, the bank account was empty, I gave my ST to my sister and purchased an Amiga 500 with ram expansion to 1 mb.

    Great i had not heard about these ports, i love bomb jack. I think we all want to hear the gory details of the programming, its a fantastic time where the guys who learnt from the computer scientists in the late 70s are now older men themselves and have free time for exciting new "authentic software (and hardware) projects.

    The big diablo monster fly too high, in the original game is impossible to avoid he that way. Also the diablo flies at the speed you can scroll the scenario, not that fast, so you can maintain he behind you but if you delay just a bit to kill somebody it will catch you. Also the enemies forming a tower looks wrong... , or is just a thing of so low fps?

    • @TheGuruMeditation
      @TheGuruMeditation  Před 4 lety

      oh interesting. I need to go back and play the arcade version again. I have been playing this one so much I forget some of the details of the arcade version. I don't believe the stacking of enemies has to do with the frame rate

    not a fan of the low res box art, the scanlines make it look even cheaper

    • @TheGuruMeditation
      @TheGuruMeditation  Před 4 lety

      Kevin felt that adding the scan lines would help hide the fact that they were working with a low quality image. I think it looks really cool in person, but I understand you knot liking them. That is the beauty of art. Personally I don't like adding artificial scan lines to my game when emulating, so I feel you.

      @@KonstantinosGerakis ah yes, 60Hz. I bet the arcade version you were playing was running at 60fps vs the 50fps of this port to a PAL hence the smoother motion. A PAL Amiga was only capable of 50 Hz because that is the PAL standard. Personally i don't have a problem with this port at all. It is super fun to play and I think it is excellent. Also, the new levels are outstanding. They look much nicer than anything in the original in my opinion. Those parallax clouds are amazing and I love the moon lit levels
