In my youth the mods would arrive on vespas clad in parka jackets. We would have all nighters on the beach after spilling out from the Brief Encounter which opened till the early hours, a coffee bar down chip alley. The Chuck Wagon and the Lion were our haunts listening to Tamla Motown. Sometimes we would hitch hike to the Gliderdrome Boston to dance to top live bands like Emerson Lake and Palmer, Ginger Bakers Airforce and more. The Tower Gardens had a great illumination, a blue Smurf, but they took it away causing my young son to cry and cry. Skegness was lovely. Its no longer recognisable to me.
Thank you for sharing a great post Steven love Skegness visit most days for shopping when staying at Butlins find the people so nice and friendly helpful.
Hi Stephen. enjoyed your walk around Skegness. and your photos look fantastic. lovely colors. The clock tower looks great with the changing colors. 👍🥰❤️
I used to live in Mansfield now in cleveleys so I used to travel up to Skegness a lot , it seems a lot better now than 8years ago when I went , some nice pubs .. brilliant video as always Stephen
Good Evening Steve. Skeggy at night looking rather calm and peaceful. Looks very nice to come and visit for a Evening out with my Friends. Thank you Steve.
Excellent video Stephen. Nice to see Skegness ag night. Having a McDonald's on the seafront makes other businesses keep their prices down. It was sure Kicking Off down that Road. Look forward to your next video 👍😁😎
Thank you for the video Stephen, Skeggy's night life quieter than I remember as a teenager. Love the Art Deco never really appriciated it as a youngster and I'm glad they've kept it. You've taken some lovely photos Stephen. It all kicks off in Skeggy too.😊😊😊
Great video Stephen as always I went there years ago it all looks a lot better now . Love hearing you say it's kicking off . Take care stay out of them dark roads ❤
Aa always great wee walk about, never been to Skegness though have been to blackpool many times, i remember back in the 1980's blackpool had a vast underground swingers scene. I will always have a special place in my heart for british holidays 🇬🇧 Thanks for sharing your walks Stephen
Looks much nicer at night I thought it was awful during the day especially that premier inn on the front but it looks lovely at night. Love all the art deco. Skegness looks nicer than expected 👍 quite posh! xx
I last went to Skegness in 2009 and stayed on a campsite on Roman bank. I remember there was a nice chip shop near the clock tower. Its hard to believe it was nearly fifteen years ago now. Many thanks for the nice memories Stephen 👍
Hello Stephen, thank you for your video in Skegness. Looks so different since my last visit so would be interested to go back. Hope you enjoyed your time up East.
Skegvegas, Ingoldmells and the rest of the east coast seem to have vastly increased the number of caravans since I was there. Is this a sign of the agenda of stopping us travelling abroad/long distances? Newquay, where I had my best family hols, has increased self catering apartments, etc. Holidays at home is making a return.
Nice onewatched yer Blackpool blogs Stephen, good too see u in other places mate,ps i went to Blackpool last year like i said I would, blooming marvellous!!!! Fantastic work Steve.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 3:12
Great seeing Skegness at night time, will be different again get holiday season here, and Kicking Off in full swing, With Skeg having so many caravan sites a lot of nightlife happens in the clubs / bars on site or Ingoldmells just down Roman Bank two miles.
Great video Stephen would you be able to get a video over in Ingoldmells if your still over that way, that would be interesting and its only down the road from Skegness 😊
Hi Stephen, i liked your walk around video today, The Steak house do a nice meal~ my sister & i eat there a lot when on holiday. Were going to Skegness again this July. We go to Blackpool two years then Skegness for two years. We just have our Eve meal, then go back to hotel, were both walking impaired.
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always looks like skegness hasn't got the busy night life like Blackpool has but its a lot smaller love the clock on the roundabout have a great day xx
Never had 3 piers like your home town But before the pier was badly damaged in 1978 storm it was the 3rd longest in the UK. Great video brought back many happy memories 😢😊
I'm so disappointed it didn't kick off in Skegness on Saturday night! 🤣 I enjoy your videos, Stephen, and the still photos were great. You are an excellent photographer.
That was an interesting video Steve, don't think I would fancy a holiday there though, seemed extremely quiet for a Saturday evening, keep up the good work Steve 😂
It’s good to see good old Skeggy is busy in the off season and so well lit at night. If there’s one thing I hope you take away from your visit Stephen is that you don’t need to be a large or wealthy place to have lots of trees, something that Blackpool is shamefully so lacking in and needs a severe rethink about!
There is no point in thinking about it. As any gardener will tell you, it is a fact that trees and flowers cannot survive in Blackpool's windy, salt-laden atmosphere and no plant has yet been invented that is able to do so. Even the grass the council put down when the Promenade was remodelled virtually all perished within a year. If you want greenery, look elsewhere - just as I did....
@@uk-martin4905 nonsense!!! There are plenty of plants that have evolved to live by the coast and can easily deal with strong, salt laden winds. All there needs to be is the knowledge to plant the right plants that will thrive in that environment and the political will to do it! And we're not just talking about the sea front: there are already a small number of trees in the backstreets already just a few yards from the promenade. There simply needs to be a lot more planted where they're already thriving, so please take your ignorant comments somewhere else please - you're not helping!
Hi Steve we have been to witness a few times and really like it we stayed at haven park called Skegness holiday Park and it's about 10-15 min walk from the Tesco store and it has ideally good fish and chip shop on sight .
I've never been to Skegness but it seems alright - clean and tidy .But the good thing about Blackpool is no matter how far you roam you can always pinpoint the Tower and find your way back to the seafront - unless somebody trips over the plug and the lights go out .
The seaside towns of the north are mostly similar, for me the south coast is completely different. I don't mean which is better, but they are very different...
Its a good funfair great rides, the water ride is amazing, a decent ghost train, and pirate ship, and roller coaster and freak out, yes i agree blackpool is decent as well both great places to vist.
Heard you mention Lytham Steve in this vid… I’ve heard they’ve just installed some huge CCTV cameras in the town just outside Stringers & some further down Clifton street & the square ((wonder if it’s been kicking off)) brilliant vid as always 👍
great video stephen always guaranteed a good night in skeg pubs are brill very rarely any bother come in the summer when its more busier its very lively at a few of them bars you deffo need to come back and try a few of them cafes down the high street though ;)
“It’s all kicking off in Skeggy”! Looks a little rough there don’t think I’d be wanting to wonder around there at night. Apart from that it looks dead. Much more life in Blackpool. No Wetherspoons either at present.
Stephen....Liverpool Kev here ....So much thanks as usual to show us........Get home quick before you turn into a pumpkin haha...Take care ...Liverpool Kev...
Enjoyed the walk about but would never consider going anywhere like this or Blackpool for a day out, never mind a week! I much prefer the countryside and nature. 😊
if you had walked round the corner past the train station to the left you would have seen a large tesco store. and then down roman bank road there was a marks and spencers.
I always chuckle when you say “ Its all kicking off in Blackpool “ 😂
Av not heard it's all kicking off in skegness 😊
Me too 😂

Interesting walkabout in Skegness, it’s amazing how quiet tourist towns like Blackpool become in the off season.

I last went to Skegness in 2009 and stayed on a campsite on Roman bank.

That was along time ago, They use to have one at Ingoldmells plus a miniature railway many moons ago.
Another great video Stephen. Always interesting to explore new places. I’m in Brighton and went to Skegness about 25 years ago.
Never had 3 piers like your home town But before the pier was badly damaged in 1978 storm it was the 3rd longest in the UK. Great video brought back many happy memories 😢😊

I've not been to Skegness since I was 3 months pregnant with my son he's now almost 23 next month
Sent your earlier daytime vid to my Sis, who used to holiday in Skeggy. She said she didn't recognize any of it!
Its a good funfair great rides, the water ride is amazing, a decent ghost train, and pirate ship, and roller coaster and freak out, yes i agree blackpool is decent as well both great places to vist.
Love the illuminated iconic clock tower in Skegvegas! A similar one in Margate!
Looks like a lovely place. The Bingo Hall is a gem
Very good, Steve 👍
Some very nice looking arcades there nice to see a video of mr wildside on tour.
Skegness 1968 Butlins lads holiday completely rat arsed pushed my food tray straight off the end of the serving area. Great memories of Skeg.
Skegness looks similar to Cleethorpes 👍
Nice walk around good to see Skegness

Heard you mention Lytham Steve in this vid… I’ve heard they’ve just installed some huge CCTV cameras in the town just outside Stringers & some further down Clifton street & the square ((wonder if it’s been kicking off)) brilliant vid as always 👍
So much is open in winter, and there's shows as well at butlins.
Nice vlog of Skegness at night .. Never had any problems there myself .
I always think skegness is a little bit like Southport
My goodness Stephen. Why you slummin'.? Stay safe and be well. Best wishes from Canada.
I love skeg, and most seaside towns in the uk.
Nice to see how other seaside towns live.
🤣🤣 love it xx
there were hardly any young people going out on Saturday night , pretty grim, however, the town itself is quite nice.
I went into Busters pub and fell out of it good night 👊
I heard it's all kicking off in blackpool again enjoy your walkabout skegness Steve 😊
It’s all kicking off 😂😂❤
Cockneys went to skeggy on holiday. . X im in Blackpool now.
That road with all the chippies is called " chip pan alley"
Skegness is as popular as Blackpool spent many holidays there
great video stephen always guaranteed a good night in skeg pubs are brill very rarely any bother come in the summer when its more busier its very lively at a few of them bars you deffo need to come back and try a few of them cafes down the high street though ;)
I’d hardly call one guy being arrested as “all kicking off”
Good video Stephen - thanks. Good old Skegness council switching off more and more street lighting! Pathetic!
“It’s all kicking off in Skeggy”! Looks a little rough there don’t think I’d be wanting to wonder around there at night. Apart from that it looks dead. Much more life in Blackpool. No Wetherspoons either at present.
Kicking off you say, I’ve seen some of the biggest bar room brawls & riots in that Marine Bar just off the front 🥊
that park has lots of beer monsters in the summer
Stephen....Liverpool Kev here ....So much thanks as usual to show us........Get home quick before you turn into a pumpkin haha...Take care ...Liverpool Kev...
We lost skeggy pier decade's ago in a huge storm. What you experienced is all that's left of it.
Enjoyed the walk about but would never consider going anywhere like this or Blackpool for a day out, never mind a week! I much prefer the countryside and nature. 😊
we stay indoors wheen in blacpool at night.....inside entertainment....Hotel Sheraton. Have you been inside Stephen , it is so beautiful? x
A lot cheaper than Blackpool pleasure beach.much better for families .
Not far from me in Sutton on Sea
YES!!! I saw Kickoff in Blackpool! Great vid!
Now where is Skegness in relation to Blackpool?
a very good video
It is not that busy in Skegness in the winter. He should go again in the summer.
Stephen your the man, love your clips but please my friend be careful, people with beer inside them can be a bid odd shall we say.
Local Here Skegness dont really any Nightclubs only really busy one is The Hive which is on the Seafront
Scooter Rallies 1980s Happy Dayz
if you had walked round the corner past the train station to the left you would have seen a large tesco store. and then down roman bank road there was a marks and spencers.
I did visit the large Tesco store. It looked fairly new.
I can recommend the Marine Place to eat and they are fully dog friendly as well
