- I was absolutely mind-blown when I discovered this rental car company that allows you to retrieve and unlock your rental car just through your phone - Virtuo rental cars is the future of rental cars!
Join me in this travel vlog as I make my way from Austria after the 2023 Austrian GP at the Red Bull ring to France where my wife will be joining me before we make our way to the UK for the 2023 British GP in Silverstone. On this journey I opted to fly on Air France which surprised me and I think it is a serious contender for the best European Airline. Everything from the lounge, the staff and the plane itself was great!

The kicker is that you flew BA in FIRST CLASS! They are supposed to treat those bags like gold and make sure they come out first, and they treated it like steerage on the Titanic! Good to see you and the family are all having a good trip otherwise.
No priority baggage on BA.

Agree 100 percent on the Moxy at Milton Keynes being a great hotel for the British Grand Prix. I also stayed there during this year’s British GP and it was excellent. They have the friendliest staff who really goes out of their way to help the gas. And the hotel is well located next to a large number of restaurants and across the street from a large big box store where you can buy all the food, electronics and anything else you need.
And Milton Keynes is the closest larger city to Silverstone. Very quick drive to the track if you take the country roads that approach the track.

Not sure what your experiences with BA have been but in the 30 years they made my life a misery having to use them I can confirm they have an approach of equality and fairness to all their customers whether they fly First, Club or Economy - ie: utter contempt for everyone.
Very cool! Just returned home to the US after nearly two weeks in France. Looks like we were on the opposite end of Paris up near Gare de l’Est. Made my first ever visit to Monaco and walked the path of the race circuit, something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time! Didn’t do any of your high dollar meal or hotel recommendations from your video a month or so ago! 😂
I walked the Champs Elysees Thursday night and the only indications anything had happened was two crews that appeared to be finishing glass replacement in two stores. Finally, I don’t get the warm fuzzies about BA. I’ve flown AF multiple times and had great experiences, including RT this time in business from ATL to CDG and back. I heartily recommend AF.
BA? Better call it BS. 🤣
It BA were renamed as Bloody Awful, senior management would probably see it as a plus.

- the inconvenience of having to go collect it yourself at the 'last-mile' airport
- the lack of proper customer support (to put it gently)

The Virtuo rental concept is also available here in Malaysia from a couple of years ago. But over here the keys to the car are on the rental apps, no dowloads necessary.
Truth, I have been using them for many years already, but they have a lot of issues as well, due to Malaysia being very bad at the maintenance of cars and their apps in general..

Thanks! Oh behold the wonders of Airline travel. Great video and I am glad to see that Tonya and her Sister had a safe trip to join you. The Silverstone GP will be over by the time you see this but it looked to me to be a real cracker of a race. A lot of cars in non-normal place to start. It will be a few hours before I see it but that be the way it is. Keep the great content coming and Stay Passionate.

I have just used Uber car share in the Goldcoast a week ago. Same concept and worked a treat. I agree, the days of traditional hire companies are coming to an end.

Sweden is full of these kind of car rentals, very clever. I drive new Volvo's all the time through Volvo On Demand, another one called Kinto has Toyota. Obviously go with Volvo every time.

Here in the US - United, American, Delta, Southwest, etc.. are all publicly owned companies therefore they suck up to Wall Street, not to the actual Customers. Form NY to LA (6 hr flight) you'll get a small pack of pretzels and a can of coke. Absolutely disgusting! Never get on the plane hungry or have a sandwich or snack in your carry on. You would not know because you don't fly economy.
Lost luggage, incompetent staff, the legacy of Covid and the reality of post Covid life. It’s everywhere. Glad you got your bag back. Air tags forever.
it sis also available in Australia. the company used to be called car next door, now it's called Uber car share.

Great content as always. Next time I am traveling in Europe I will try Virtuo. Sadly it is not available in the US. We do have Turo which is more like AirBnB for a car and you rent from an individual owner.
If you like Moxy you prob like Dakota, much the same but even slicker.. used to be owned by David Coultard!
You'll need to try Turo the next time you're in the States. It's like Virtuo but seems easier based on my usage of it on a few occasions
I thought of Turo as well. The difference is Turo is more like AirBnB for cars because you rent from individual owners mostly. If you rent a Tesla on Turo the effect is similar ie; using the App to open and run the car.

ahh bag dramas, i had a similar issue with Qantas/Emirates many years ago, Canberra > Sydney > DUbai > Lisbon, somehow the bags didnt leave Canberra, I similar to you was shooting Motorsport at the time (World Rally Championship) so was only in Porto for a week, unfortuntely for me it took them a week to finally get it to me, but they somehow managed to seperate the two bags, one was delivered to my hotel 3hrs before I left Lisbon and the other was in Porto where they were meant to deliver it, they finally got the 2nd bag to me as I was checking in to leave Lisbon for Sardinia for the next event, lucky for me I have great travel insurance who covered new clothes and some essential camera gear, so I feel the pain, to this day I still have the messages from Emirates on my twitter hahaha

I had a similar issue with BA losing my bags with AirTags. Eventually I emailed them with a screenshot showing the location in LHR and then sent them a link to a What3words location so I could get my bags back.
Haha, Malaysia has had these app rental cars for the last 5 years+. It's called SoCar, it's not a new technology and it runs on bluetooth entirely. If you reset the bluetooth from the stereo in the car, you will effectively reset the whole car from the host system and your app key will no longer work. It's not foolproof, obviously.
**If you want to steal the car, you'd reset the stereo and then pull the control module from the OBD port. I'm not saying you should, but that's how you'd do it if you wanted to.**
still waiting from BA a refundáveis for a hotel and uber used in London last year, because they didnt had any hotels for me to pass the night as my first flight from greece delayed and lost my conexion to Brasil. And I own a travel agency
Lesson of the day, get some air tags when travelling.

`Pretty ordinary effort`! You`re kinder than I`d be. I watch a lot of these travel vids & there are many complaints about BA`s service standards, so much so that I wouldn`t entertain flying them. You as a very frequent flyer it wouldn`t be in your interest to have such a cavalier approach I guess, but as a Brit it`s embarrassing that I can`t recommend my home airline that was once quite decent. Enjoy your vids though mate!!

Hotels looked nice. It’s a shame that baggage handling fell apart just a couple of years ago now.
Salad, dessert, coffee and champagne... compared to flying CattleCarAir where you can buy nuts, soft drinks or maybe a beer, but no food on a flight to west coast from the east coast of US.
Kim - u are fortunate to be able to travel 1st class or business g yet have to put up with BS air service just like us commoners in coach... Sometimes.

Ok, you lost me for a minute in that French bakery story. You said you were looking for the guy who ran the place, and the woman says "c'est moi!", so I thought you were going to say she was transgender or something, because she used to be a man. Then, I caught that you said the photo was of the "guy and an assistant", and she was the assistant, but then I was wondering if she'd say the guy was now dead, as you didn't say what happened to him. Sometimes these trips down memory lane aren't so happy. More importantly, I hope they had good croissants. 😁

Good point about the US airlines, for such a beautiful and rich country the airlines there treat the customers as cattle. Poor service and dirty cramped planes. Not to mention the rude manners of the staff. I'm an expat and is something I miss about Europe. Just saying.
So true. I was flighing to Houston, and I was the only passenger in first class. I was using the toilet by the cockpit when the flight attendent started banging on the door. I finished my business, came out and she yelled at me, saying that I had to use the loo at the back of economy!

That BA story is shocking. Sounds like no accountability on their part. Just a complete joke. Nothing drive me crazier than describing the same issue to different support agents.
