Thanks for the info. Time for me to upgrade, ive been using Presonus AudioBox since the early 10s. Had a Yamaha Steinberg UR22 for a couple of years till it stop working. Ready to check this out.

You think it is worth to upgrade from solo 3rd gen to 2i2 4th gen? I'm not so much into all the extra buttons and functions, although it is a great addition. I care about the recording sound quality. If it will be worth the upgrade from 3rd to 4th gen. Very Happy with current mic and happy with solo 3rd gen with mic combination. Just wondering if the 4th gen with new improved preamp will add to even a better quality recording.

I think it’s a decent upgrade but not mindblowingly better if that makes sense. What mic do you have?

I use e a Rode NT1. It is less than a year old. Upgraded to Rode from those cheap china mics you buy everywhere that comes in deferent colors and seems to have all deferent names and model numbers for the same thing depending on where you buy it from. Therefore very happy with Rode. Do not do highly professionals stuff. Mainly record my Vocal students with a 2 track beat type of thing (backtrack )And a few local people who write their own songs. Would like to get into my own personal productions too though.@@AdamSliger I did run my own tests with the cheap no name condenser mic through solo 3rd gen and also Rode NT 1. And the differences is remarkable. Less frequencies I have do deal with when mixing.😂😂

If you’re happy with it then I would say just rock what you have for now! I think you would get more of an upgrade from a better mic later on down the road than from going up a generation of interface, sound quality wise. Keep rocking with what you’ve got for now and then make a bigger jump later on is my suggestion!!

How did you get rid of white noise floor problems with your focusrite. When I have nothing plugged into my Focusrite it has white noice.. and Each time I record with my condenser microphone it becomes even more louder with the white noice enhanced.

I’d make sure you’re not having power issues with your computer or something else. I have 2 MacBook chargers and one of them will introduce noise, the other is totally clean.
