Lynn F'N Swann didn't disappoint when they took him a 1st Round draft choice out of the University of Southern California Trojans his Rookie Season wasn't good but at least he'd continued to be Terry Bradshaw's favorite WR1 along with his WR2 John Stallworth but make no mistake about it Swann had a remarkable career in the SteelCity winning 4 Super Bowl Rings 1974 1975 1978 1979 but he had two of the best if not the greatest catch in Super Bowl's History and NFL's History the Levitating Leap and the Kangaroo Catch both in the Super Bowl and your a Super Bowl MVP Hell Yeah you've definitely deserve to be on this list for sure no doubt about it! 7:17
Mac Jones, obviously. He could have been a better quarterback if the Patriots kept Josh McDaniels as their OC and if he was given a better supporting cast. Tom Brady helped make the rosters that Bill Bellichick assembled as a general manager look very good, while Mac Jones could not.
Okay we can all agree Cris Carter didn't have a great Rookie Season with the Eagles at the time when his QB was Randall Cunningham was there but with the Minnesota Vikings he really did become the absolute G.O.A.T like literally from Day-1 in the TwinCity building a new reputation a new relationship with new teammates and coach Dennis Green without a doubt Carter was the master of catching all the balls without no drops whatsoever his Hall Of Fame Career he had 122 Receptions not once but twice in a season in 1994 & 1995 but in 1998 everything changes because the Vikings got a big time freakish athlete Randy Moss in the 1998 NFL Draft 1st Round 21st overall pick and they went on a 15-1 year scored more points in NFL's History with 565 at the time although Cris Carter never won a Super Bowl Ring with Minnesota and it does SUCK but it hurts it really really hurts if not for Gary Anderson who missed the Field Goal vs Falcons in the NFC Championship Game Mr.Carter would be Champion right now from then and the Ohio State University Buckeyes Alumni would still be a Hall Of Famer no matter what! 5:07
Troy Aikman was a 1st Round 1st overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys yes we all remember how it turned out back in his Rookie Campain like Terry Bradshaw & Peyton Manning in a way Aikman went 0-11 to start the season in 1989 but when 1990's came around Jimmy Johnson was hired as the head coach for the Dallas Cowboys and Sure Enough Johnson and Aikman definitely turned the Cowboys in to the 1990's Dynasty winning Super Bowl's 1992 1993 and 1995 although Aikman did not win NFL MVP's or anything but one way or another the former UCLA Bruins Alumni was certainly the guy who made the Dallas Cowboys America's Team for a reason he was the man in Big D along with Roger Staubach as well! 10:00
I was expecting to see Rick Mirer among the horribles after a great rookie season. What makes him stand out was that after his rookie season, opposing teams’ DCs studied all the video footage and found his weakness on the left side and exploited it to the max, resulting in everything going downhill for him from there.
As a Steelers fan Terry Bradshaw was the real deal in the SteelCity in 1970 he was selected a 1st Round 1st overall pick the Louisiana Tech University Bulldogs Alumni had a downfall Rookie Season with 6 Touchdowns and 24 Interceptions OUCHIES! But at least Bradshaw continued to be better get better and certainly fully prepared and man oh man did he ever he won all 4 Super Bowl Championships 1974 1975 1978 1979 won NFL's MVP in 1978 he was a 3X Pro Bowler and continued to build a Hall Of Fame career with Chuck Noll as his coach well done TB12! 2:52
Peyton Manning was a 1st Round 1st overall pick in 1998 NFL Draft selected by the Colts he had 26 TD's and 28INT which both were NFL Rookie Records but in 1999 to 2016 Manning went on to win 5 NFL MVP's and two Super Bowl Championships in 2006 with the Colts and 2015 with the Broncos Peyton Manning in the 2004 year had 49TD's and 2013 5,477 Passing Yards and 55TD's both are the most in a single season in NFL's History now he's a Hall Of Famer in 2021! 0:46
Robert Griffin III has a stunning Rookie Year in 2012 1st Round 2nd overall pick out of the University of Baylor he won the Heisman from 2011 year to be picked by the Redskins back then in 2012 NFL Draft but he won Rookie of the year until things took a turn for the worst! 1:55
I wouldn't consider him a legend but Alex Smith had one of the worst rookie seasons (statistically) in NFL history going 2-5 with a 1-11 td to int ratio yet went on to have a pretty good career. He's at least worth an honorable mention.
I disagree with Payton Manning being on this list because his struggles in his rookie year, one weren’t struggles, and two were caused by the fact that the rest of the squad especially the defense was terrible to mediocre. They had the top pick in the draft that was used on Payton for a reason.
I never hated on Sam Bradford when he won the Heisman Trophy in 2009 with Oklahoma in 2010 NFL Draft he was a 1st Round 1st overall pick by the Rams back in St.Louis at the time yes he won Rookie of the year but I believe that he should've been drafted somewhere to play of to compete for Super Bowl Rings with the right team at the right time with the right system that will fit him perfectly to fit right in! 10:40
No, he never studied playbook or film or developed chemistry with his receivers. He spent all his time in the weight room. So he had a great body, but he couldn't read defenses, avoid pressure, hit receivers in stride, go through his progressions, or do any of the mental stuff that a QB needs to do in the NFL. Shanahan designed a college-style system for him to mask his flaws. It worked for a while but it was never going to be sustainable. Sooner or later, the NFL was going to adjust to it, and then RG3 was toast. Injury or not.
Terry Bradshaw sucked for his whole career if we’re being honest 😂🤣 multiple years of 20 plus interceptions and was CARRIED by that all time great defense
Don't feel bad for him. He ruined himself. He only put in the effort in the weight room. He did not put ANY effort in the film room or the playbook and he never really got to know his teammates.
Here's an idea TPS, 10 Players in the past you said were gonna be busts but turned out to be stars

They've done that one a gajillion times, they do it every year.
Where's Mac Jones From a 10-7 rookie year to being traded after his 3rd year😂
I dont think Mac Jones is a legend buddy.
@@noahstarr889you clearly mean missed the second half of the video’s title . “Busts that had great rookie seasons”
@@noahstarr889He would be on the bust with a great rookie season side of the vid😂

5 legends that had phenomenal rookie years and 5 busts that had horrible one

Speaking of Josh Rosen, here's an idea for TPS: Players who never had a chance. Players who didn't last past 4 years.
Do 10 players who had a *mid-season* turnaround: 5 who started great but ended horribly, and 5 who started horribly but ended great.
Mac Jones, obviously. He could have been a better quarterback if the Patriots kept Josh McDaniels as their OC and if he was given a better supporting cast. Tom Brady helped make the rosters that Bill Bellichick assembled as a general manager look very good, while Mac Jones could not.
Belicheck could not put an offense together/draft

Wild that a QB with a 4:1 int:TD ratio even stayed on the field
This video is for the Brice Young fans out there!!!
Idea: Best rivalry in every division or 10 best rivalries in the game.
Video idea: Current NFL Free Agents that should not be on the market and where they should go

In defense of Bradford Jeff fisher was trying to get him to be like Steve McNair but they were no where near the same style qb
Jameson Williams and Bryce young will show better than they did their rookie season
Actually, Bears fans want great return on the 2nd pick they hold from the Bryce Young trade.
I suspect that their prediction isn't quite the same.
Can’t believe this list didn’t have Jaguars legend Jimmy Smith on it.
Love your video TPS

Top 11
Great rookie year - Odell Thurman. Literally only played one year bc of various suspensions
Eli Manning should be dere as well bc he started bad and his breakout was his 3rd szn and won a sb

Croel won defensive rookie of the year but not the defensive player of the year, that went to Pat swilling

I’m never gonna call RG3 a bust. Injuries derailed his career
I wouldn't consider him a legend but Alex Smith had one of the worst rookie seasons (statistically) in NFL history going 2-5 with a 1-11 td to int ratio yet went on to have a pretty good career. He's at least worth an honorable mention.
I’m kinda scared for cj now hopefully he’s not a bust
Quentin Johnston next

Jared Goff had the worst rookie year out of anyone but turned out fine
This video just goes to show you that even if you have a great rookie doesn’t guarantee you’ll have a successful career sometimes
Why need luck when youbhave God

The Redskins
Bradford was decent in Minnesota for a year
Trent Richardson
That was not rg3s fault, it's Mike Shanahans fault
RG3 was a bust, but it was not his fault, Dan Snyder ruined him.
If only they didnt rush him
Great rookie year: Mac Jones
Ed Garrin James? Who's that?
Top ten players that are in the HOF but shouldn't be!
Can we stop calling rg3 a bust mike shannahan ruined his knee
No, Shanahan didn't want to start him. Snyder forced Shanahan to give RG3 whatever he wanted
Another example: Chase Young
Rg3 isnt a bust you didnt see that knee injury
2mins from post early asf
Enough with Brady 😡
John Elway had a bad rookie year.
so there’s hope for bryce young
He's not even bad. The organization is the problem
RG3 could’ve been so good if he didn’t get injured
He should’ve stayed in the Pocket ! Where QB’s belong ! Scrambling and turning into a RB really ruined a lot of QB’s career in my opinion!
Ong bro
