The original manuscript of the four short children's games, titled "Spring in the Garden", has been lost along with information about their first performances. The cycle, which was written in Prague in 1920 and eventually published there in 1948 only after Martinů had settled in the United States, has since enjoyed availability in multiple print editions.

Martinu seriously needs to be more recognized by his prolific output and the way he produced his works. Bravo to such a productive composer.

This is my first time hearing him and I love this composer's use of harmonies. The first piece even invokes this seemingly warm and gentle feeling of nostalgia, I cannot put my finger on it.

There is a wrong note in the second piece - 'I think I should go to sleep'. See on the second page (in E flat Major), last bar, 3rd count : we hear G, when the score shows B (flat). Note that this section is repeated later, with the same unfortunate error.

There is no error, I think you did not notice the change of key (F-bass to G-treble) 2 bars before. Score says G and we hear G. Beautifuly played as it is. Martinů is my favorite composer but I have yet to uncover all his works, thanks for upload!
