    Bruh cuz maybe it appeals to literally the people that are in the anime itself? like the Naruto example you gave of him being a troublechild, that is literally most average-T males while growing up, being pretty normal, this anime takes them, and puts them in a setting where they can be "cool"
    And this is also the reason I cannot watch an anime, not because there wasn't one that appealed to me, rather because most of them did, especially those with a male protagonist, and me never watching the anime again is just a few thoughts away from "lmao thas never gonna happen to a nigga like me"
