- Brentwood Family in Vietnam: Making Vietnam's Most Traditional Food - Bánh Chưng
Follow us as we cook and then eat the most traditional, ancient dish from Vietnam: bánh chưng (translation: "boiled cake"). All three generations participate!
I loved this video so much!! Fascinating to watch and it looks delicious. I would love to try it!! Please make more videos showing your life in Vietnam!
The flavor is amazing -- especially the fried version. Asian markets might sell it in your area from January to February if they carry Vietnamese food. Thanks for watching and commenting! :)
My mum cooked instructions exactly like them 1982 to 1994
After finish cooking my mum soaked them in cold water at that time l was young and didn’t have much experience
Today as l get older l realise that
because l live in the west almost 30 years l can see to don’t bother that way we don’t need to soak them in cold water
Really? Interesting -- they still taste the same?
I remember when l was young my mum used that string to cut it but l didn’t understand much
I think that's normal for all little kids :). Have you done it as an adult now? It's quite fun. :)
When you wrap food into banana leaves and cook it
The food will get a lot flavour in it when we eat
I think that wrapping food in leaves is one of my favourite parts about Vietnamese cuisine. American food isn't charming and interesting in that way, but don't tell them that I said that! ;)
