ZVEX Woolly Mammoth | FUZZ FRIDAY EP. VIII

- On this Fuzz Friday, we have Josh DuBois doing a playthough of Muse's Hysteria with the ZVEX Woolly Mammoth Fuzz...and it's safe to say we're hysterical about this pedal!
-------------
Designed for bass, a favorite for guitar, this incredibly sub-frequency-preserving unit will hold on to the lowest lows like no fuzz ever heard before. It features a gentle gate for silencing your instrument between notes or phrases, and has an EQ control that smoothly selects between more bass and more treble.

Perfect example of a piece of gear that i don’t need but i want so bad
Give the ZVEX Mastotron a try if you're concerned about the price. You can usually find it cheaper than the WM and it's essentially the same pedal with a couple extra controls.
See the trick is to want it so bad that you need it 😎
Came here to say that this bass line is indeed one of the best to test any fuzz effect with.
Nice job
What is it from?
Muse Hysteria
Play Army Of Me
And that folks is how you do a proper review of a pedal, what a pedal
The Wooley Mammoth is a nice warm sounding fuzz, you dialed in some nice synthy tones ( to my ear)
Good Job 👍 the Wooley Mammoth is definitely a fuzz to consider.
it sounds just like synth when you add some chorus/oct
It really loves supporting the phrasing over syncopation. Great percussive sounds especially for a fuzz.
Nice sounding pedal! Really missed seeing the whole group together this week though. I like the long version videos quite a bit. Helps make my morning at the office on Fridays a lil better haha
Josh killing it as always!
Perfect review!! Leaves nothing to be undecided about. Happy Friday! Lay it on Thick as alwayz
🤘❤️🔥🤘
i am addicted to the hizumitas earth quake devices pedal at the moment. can‘ t think of anything else. want it, need it, will have it.
Dug the style of this review, very direct at what knobs do over a consistent line. A little on the quick side of videos, wouldnt be able to see the variety of basses like within the long reviews. Perfect 5/7
Best bass line testing a pedal, thanks for not slapping, THAAAAAAAAAANKS!!! Great!!!
Best demo of this pedal so far. And +1 subs 👊🏽
fuzz yeah
Fabulous Friday, fuzz fam!
came here because someone said chris used a wooly mammoth for hysteria so i went to find a review and this was the first result and he's playing hysteria lmao
really nice video
You guys should get on the prodigal sounds Kali fuzz that is about to drop. Looking forward to hearing that one
The bass makes this pedal shine. If you play a guitar on this pedal, it doesn't even come close to making this pedal sound good. This is like the bass version of the fuzz factory.
Awsome review
I like these videos a lot but miss some detailed coments, though. Fuzzes can be very particular to which circuits they are attached to, specially Active Preamps, to the point of geting unpredictable and wild (in a bad way). So just showing a single bass (probably passive) and some usable settings doesn't mean it will work with other basses. The Wooly Mammooth is one of the best sounding Fuzz I've ever heard in this synth square wave tone ball park but it simply "hates" Active Basses, and would be nice pointing this issues out or show how it behaves with different basses and strings.
I gave up my Wooly Mammoth because it is not usable with my Alembic's low impedance PUs. I swapped it to a ZVex Mastotron Fuzz and it is great (although I can't get some of the exact dirtiest velcro gated tone Mammoth can produce along with a PBass).
Phuuuuuuu
Very industrial rock sound!
0:57 Holy shit that sounds like the fuzz from the Maestro Rhythm and Sound G2 unit
張り付く様な音がGOOD !
THANKS
That bassline is naughty
Listen to New Order Bass and get back with a new video. Thanks for the video.
This one's been around for a long time and it's very easily clonable. If DIY is not for you, Mooer does one (don't remember the name) that sounds pretty much the same for about 40 euros.
The Little Bear BS-1 is a good cheap version as well!
Love the fuzz but it sounds too synthy for grindcore 😭
Learn the fucking chorus!
This thing always sounded like 8-bit Nintendo trash to me, but some people would like that I guess.
this may seem like a daft comment, but does anyone get annoyed by certain basslines? I cant stand that Muse bassline.
Cruisin for a bruisin son
I know how you feel Robert…search Top XX basslines in (any) genre or by (any) band and you’ll see the saaaaaaaame ole basslines.
Bass/Guitar players really don’t take the time to listen to a whole album or listen to a one-hit wonder and discover that there’s all kinds of hidden gems out there when it comes to riffs!!
There's better muse basslines smh
@@bassedtaz hahaha
It was a cool bassline 15 years ago. At this point it's just beyond played out
Sounds like a constant fart is going on under the main tone.
