What a time capsule!! His knowledge is worth his weight in gold!! With Michael did you always count the number of kicks off the wall? Just wondering if his 15 meter underwaters were an evolution in his training.
this video is so good! i wish someone had shared this with me when i was younger. it wasn't always known that dolphin kicks are the 5th stroke and can be used to such advantage. great job putting this together!
最高に素晴らしい✨

I wonder if and how Bowman's training methods changed between Phelps and Marchand
They seem much the same, the major difference is that Phelps now has a major hand in the coaching. Wouldn’t be surprised if most of marchands evolutions are a direct result of Michael coaching.
Michael is using the older butterfly. I was thinking how awesome it would be for him to use the new one.
What is the old one and what is the new one ?
@@dragos9134 good question lmao 🤣 Roland the guy comment above seems to be dumb and self dividing of thinking of new and old butterfly
Yea what is it
caeleb and kristofs butterfly is better
@@yonggeun4222 Phelps was good at freestyle, butterfly and medley, 100m 200m and 400m.
very good and probably the best , except the music in the backgound...

feel like his head goes too deep
To deep to win golds I guess
Let’s see you swim
At that point of his career he wasn't training with weights. So, he was relatively weak. That's why he was droping his torso that deep. By doing that he could output more power with his stroke. If you take a look at his most recent years, you will see that he wasn't doing that anymore. That man is a genius.
It is about chest press and soft hands to lower resistance force. In competitions he always has lowest splash among other swimmers. Too much splash means energy loss and there are force to push you back. Watch Milak you will see he has the same style as Phelps.
He was 17 in that video you ignorant...yet at that age world record holder and world champion.
