Lately, if I get overheated, say after having been out in the yard for a bit, I'll soak a handkerchief in cold water, wring it out and first drape it over my face, and then tie it around my neck. It does wonders to cool me off quickly and I just leave it there for a couple hours sometimes. I'll repeat the process if I'm still feeling warm after a while.

Sassy is so cute playing with your yarn, but I know the problem. I had a cat for 4 months and now he is missing. When your cat bites you it means they think you're her mother. Sissy watching you while you sleep is sweet. She's watching over you, and protecting you.

Kayla stay cool and safe, keep the ac on all the time and it will keep the house cool all day- I know the electricity bill will be higher, but I would rather be cool- I just spend less during the summer

Hi Kayla, so sorry that you are dealing with so much 🥵. I hope that by now you are cooled off and feeling better 🙏🏻 I was at the hospital this evening visiting my son. The surgery went well, praise the lord!🙏🏻He is doing well. He is in a lot of pain.

Kayla, wet a hand towel with cold water and put it around your neck. Works like a charm...
I think letting them rest was the best thing you could do. I had hand surgery a while ago and it's taken a long time. Amazon helped a lot.. 🙂 I bought a battery operated jar opener, and it works. Got a battery operated can opener. And got a bottle opener that I have to use to open bottles, but it takes being able to hold it and twist. The jar opener is really a great thing, I can open those jars of sauce, etc. I'm not sure it they would work for you, because of the limitation you have sweet sister, but it might help someone with Arthritis. When I fell a couple years ago I landed on both hands. The weather here in Virginia has been ok, I have been sitting outside the last two days to just enjoy the sunshine. Not too hot, not to cold. I pray you feel better soon.

Kayla, I have long black hair kitty, and I just love her. She was a Ferrell kitty. I now have five Ferrell kitties. I love to see your kitty. They give me such joy when life is sad. My brother and sister-in-law both have lung cancer, not doing well, and all prayers are appreciated.

When I’m too hot I stand in front of the AC and let it blow on my face. Then when I start feeling cold I go sit down and feel sooo much better.
I have a black cat that we adopted when she was 16. She is 22 now. She looks just like sassy. She is very gentle, but not as snuggly as sassy! She will come sit on my crochet if she sees me crocheting. She loves the kitty hot pad we got her. She does sleep a lot!

Always turn on AC before letting house get too hot its not able to cool it. I have AC run mine on 71 at all times. It stays comfortable.
Kayla you have to stay cool. I have health issues and when I am hot I get sick and weak. Take care.

I’m freezing Kayla because it’s winter here in Australia. Used to love the cold but as I’m getting older the cold really bothers my arthritis. Everything aches! I’ll probably complain about the heat too! Love listening to your day Kayla. ❤
It's so sweet the way Sassy curls on your desk. My black cat, "Luna", sleeps on a cushion on the back of my livingroom chair. I usually am doing crochet or knitting while I'm sitting there. It starts to get cooler here in the last of August. I don't look forward to the winter because they can be brutal. I'm on Prince Edward Island which is the smallest province in Canada.

I prefer the heat but only because the cold increases my pain levels.
I don’t get hand pain but I do get spasms, that impacts my ability to knit and causes issues with my tension with my crochet. It feels like I’ve got the brain of a 30yr old and the body of a 90yr old.
As much as it’s frustrating sometimes we have to listen to our bodies.
I hope you manage to get some relief from the heat. Much love ❤️ ❤
Are you 30? I am 34 and feel about a hundred a lot of the time! Thankfully I have a pen friend who is my age and is also like an old lady with the same illness as me.

I agree with you about being hot. I put cool/cold damp washcloths over the back of my neck and one under each of "the girls". 🤭 It helps!
Oh my sassy is definitely your girl. It’s funny how they pick their human and have that bond! She is remarkably well behaved around your wool , mine would not be so chilled with a moving string lol! I feel for you in the heat. I’m in a cooler climate and can’t wait until summer finally arrives but I’d much rather deal with the cold than the heat so much easier to try to stay warm than it is to try to stay cool! Hi Kayla, 101 degrees must be brutal! We have rain in Michigan & it’s around 80 degrees, but the humidity is climbing, so I too turned on the AC some today. I was so tired of being tired. Heat/humidity wears me down. I like it better when the wind blows from the north. My grandkids have been here again this week, ages 12, 14, 15, so I’m having them make the meals. Simple stuff: grilled cheese & Campbell’s soup; eggs, sausage & toast; Mac & cheese, hot dogs, corn & strawberries; salmon patties, potatoes, cucumbers/tomatoes, corn bread muffins, and sherbet ice cream. Helps me, and life skills for them, a win, win, minus the “it’s my turn again??”😅 Stay cool, Kayla, AMAP.
Cold showers are my go to. Sassy is your cohost! She keeps giving you her paw. I enjoyed this video very much! Thank you! I crocheted the whole time. I’m working a BOD 8 point star blanket.

I have battled intense nausea this week and found that acupressure helped. I can't take medicine for it because of several issues. Maybe this acupressure will be helpful to you. With your thumb apply pressure on the inside of your arm about two and a half inches from your wrist. Hold for at least 1 minute. Do the same on the other arm. It helped me. Like your hat. Plan to make one for myself. I wear hats all the time because of lack of hair. Sassy looked so cute using the yarn as a pillow. Loved hearing how she became a member of your family. The humidity is what wipes me out. Try this if you can, get a hand towel and wet it with cold water and wrap it around the back of your neck. It works wonders to cool you off. When the towel is no longer cool, place in the fridge for a little while and apply again. ❤

I hope you feel better soon, Kayla! It's rough when weather extremes exacerbate illnesses! Winter, cold weather & low barometric pressures do that for me. I hope you're no getting covid. I had it last month and I couldn't get enough ice water. I was just pouring ice water down as fast as my daughter could bring it. Keep your fever checked, I started running fever the second day 102-03.
This lasted 5 days, sick stomach, throwing up and fever.

Temperatures here in Ohio is not hot and humid today and it sure feels nice compared to what it has been. I also have arthritis but it is everywhere in my body. 2 artificial knees and a hip. Broke my pelvis last September when I fell and yes I inherited it from my mother. So I only just take Tylenol for any pain. Refused pain medication after my surgery cause all I wanted to do is sleep.
Get a kick out of Sassy thinking that's her pillow!!

I don't like Gatorade very much but I drink the sugar-free Gatorade. What I do is put half water and half Gatorade so I do not taste the Gatorade as much. It seems to help me with my dehydration. I absolutely loved that expression on sassy's face when you told her not to be biting she's like she knew exactly what she was doing and she knew she was in trouble. 😂🐈⬛

Putting an ice pack on your head will help bring you body temperature down some. That’s what I use to do when I worked to cool down in the heat of the summer.

Kayla I am a very ill lady with a crushed pellvis and 13 fractures plus 3 kinds of arthritis use some icy hot on your hands s😊weet lady. I sure wish we lived closer so we could comfort each other.

I cooled off in the pool today even though it isn't very hot out. I just like being in the water because I can get some exercise without it being work and I enjoy floating around. :-)

Hi Kayla! I sure hope you were able to get cooled off! If you get too hot again and can't get a cool shower, get yourself a damp towel and pop it in the freezer to get it cold and then put it on the back of your neck. It will help you cool down and probably ease your headache.
Boiling here too! Of course I had to do a blood draw today and I swear it must have been a newbie vampire! She kept saying" I,m in the vein but you aint bleeding and she was twisting it all around, I finally told her to try the other arm because I felt all the blood was going under the skin ( which it was), so the other arm she had no problems... but I have a HUGE bruise on my left arm....I guess I was this young girls guinea pig! I too can not tolerate heat. I love winter, can always add more layers to get warm. Have some health issues in winter but have A LOT of issues in summer. You need a sonic slush right about now. Hope your tornado fan cools you down some. Loving the hat❤.
Miss Kayla, if you can't turn on the shower, you could dampen a towel in a sink and lay it over you while you lay in your bed. I've been sensitive to heat since I was a young child and have nearly passed out several times during my lifetime. So I can relate to what you are experiencing. Please be careful because overheating can turn into heat exhaustion or heat stroke, which could be life threatening. You can also freeze some water in a sealed bag and put it on the back of your neck (wrapped in a thin cloth to not freeze your skin) or you can dampen a wash cloth and put it in the freezer for a few minutes and then put it on your forehead as long as it doesn't worsen your headache. And definitely stay hydrated. Sending you prayers and cool thoughts. 🥶

My crocheting has slowed down and due to arthritis and COVID brain, now I've got COVID again, my husband has it too. This go round I feel so sick, I went to my yarn room, just starting to get a yarn stash I've got 5 WIP's and I thought about you and I have to say I felt like an idiot for actually having the nerve to feel bad for myself and not feeling like pushing myself to work on one of my projects. I can't work on 3 blankets because it is hotter than the Jaws of hell here in N. Florida. I hope you're feeling better. You're an inspiration to me. Hug your cat for me, I miss not having one.
Hoping you feel better soon. Here's an idea, dampen a t-shirt and put it in the freezer for a few minutes then drape it around your neck. Walmart does sell cooling towels, my son bought one and it's amazing.

Cats are like potato chips, you can’t have just one 😻 we have 11 and 3 are all black 🐈⬛ and you are so right it is very hard for black cats to get adopted. People think they are bad omens. Where we live you cannot adopt one anytime near Halloween, people do bad things to them.
Kayla, I got myself a neck fan, JusiLife, at Costco. Two for $40. Works really well. We leave our air conditioning on all summer at 74.
Please take care of yourself. The heat is so bad everywhere. It was hot here in Southern California today too. We have AC, but cannot afford to run it so we have fans all over. I have had so much to do inside, but had to keep taking breaks because of the heat. Hope you were able to get some rest and that cool shower. Love from Southern California ❤
