Also if anyone has prior military experience like JROTC that will make a major statement on your OCS packet.
This is very untrue. Nobody outside of highschool gives a damn about JROTC. Thats the harsh truth.

Do you need to join ROTC your freshman year of college, or can you join from your sophmore year on too?
You need to have a total of 4 years in the rotc program to commission.
@@lk0823 If you do 4 years of ROTC, and you didn’t get a scholarship prior to joining ROTC can you still be able to be an officer?
I know this is super old, but yes you can join ROTC as a sophomore. It doesn't matter what grade you're in because your commission date will be set regardless. You will just get your degree before you get your commission.
@@Zer0Mood Could you go a little further in depth? So for example if I do one year at one college and then transfer to a another school as a sophomore how would the process work with ROTC?
I think In nj it’s a 2.5 gpa
That’s most places: on a 4.0 grading system, maybe his school had a 5.0 grading system. Because 3.2 is a pretty decent GPA by 4.0 standards I can’t imagine the threshold for ROTC being that high.
Do you have to get a bachelors when your in the rotc program? I really need help I am going to a college that offers army rotc but I do not know where to start, I already submitted my application to go to the school and my major is sociology but I really want to join the rotc program to have a career in the military. I am also done getting my associates degree emphasis on sociology, I come from the civilian no background in jrotc from highschool
in order to be commisioned yes you do need to get a bachelors if you do want to do military to get commisioned as an officer one of the requirements is a bachelors degree sorry this is late you probably got this answered already
At what age would an individual loose ability to join the military or ROTC
Not sure if it changed but I think you have to be able to commission before your 36th birthday
