- This is a video consisting of a compilation of scenes featuring one of slick villain from my memories, the ruthless Duros bounty hunter and infamous mercenary, Cad Bane (voiced by Corey Burton) from the hit show Star Was: The Clone Wars. He proved to be an exceptionally amusing villain strictly because of his ruthless pursuit of finishing his tasks and his considerable planning skills against the Jedi and the Republic despite being a lowly gun-for-hire. By the way for those who don't know, a condottiere is the leader of a gang of mercenaries, mainly confined to ancient Italy yes, but the term can still hold elsewhere.Hope you enjoy him!

I love Cad's deep, and almost mechanical voice
That's Cory Burton he did megatron in TFA
It was based on 1940s actor Peter Lorre who was in "Casablanca" who was born in Hungary, but gave Cad a stronger Eastern European lilt. Worked very well with the fuzzy effect.
Honestly, most Peter Lorre impressions tend to overdo the accent and/or rasp (Ren Hoek and Dr. N. Gin (who, funnily enough, is also voiced by Burton) being the biggest examples that come to my mind), but it almost always works to its benefit.
Admit it, if you heard Cad Bane’s voice if you were like alone in an alleyway, you would immediately let out excrement in the form of literal bricks.

Loved that scene where he told the Jedi that they had no beef, yet they insisted that they did. He basically responded, "Alright, I'll kill you if you insist. Get a million credits. Yeesh."
now that you mention it, the separatists are paying a million credits a head for a JEDI!
At the time, he was working for the Hutts, who were Republic allies. Hence why he only engaged when the Jedi insisted on fighting. And yes, the Seps are paying a million credits per Jedi head, because they hate the Jedi for siding with the Republic.

He took the senate hostage successfully broke into the vault in the library at the jedi temple causally tortured and killed jedi for business and amusement fought obiwan and voss and broke out of prison guarded by clones on a regular basis outsmarted obiwan. Mace windu ashoka tano everyone at the jedi temple when he stole the holocron was contracted for work directly from darth sidious himself. He meets and or exceeds fett in my mind more than just a blunt instrument cad bane was s blunt instrument with a brain

Cad Bane was such an interesting addition to the show with his various triumphs over not only the Jedi but the Republic as a whole.
He was also pretty damn amusing too with his cold, ruthless humor and such.
He reminds me of lee van cleef who played douglas (angel eyes) mortimer in a few dollars more and the good the bad and the ugly

Clorox Bleach That was a scrapped episode for season 7. Bane slaughtered a village of innocents and Boba confronted him over it, leading to a Wild West style duel between the too. They both shot each other in the head, but Boba’s Mandalorian helmet protected him, while Bane wasn’t so lucky.

Bane has actually studied the Jedi extensively, he probably knows how to fight with a lightsaber better than most non force users.

tbqh i never considered tcw to be a kids show, more like a show for teens (12/13 years or older) because of all the torture, killing and other things. i just really missed the cursing in tcw, i think in some situations it would fit pretty well.
I can’t think of a creative name I disagree, the movie was a lot more for kids and the show evolved and became more brutal as the audience grew

Old cartoons are more mature than any movie or show these days. CW was a show for kids but It was realistic and never treated kids as kids. It had meanings and deep story. It wasn't that grey but had its moments.

Cad Bane was the best villain in Clone wars. Unlike Grievous, he actually achieved several victories over the jedi and held his own against two jedi masters. It is shame we never saw Bane again after S4, but he always left an impact whenever he appeared on screen.

Reason why we never see him again is because he was killed by boba fett a like a few months before order 66
He was going to re-appear in later seasons for a bounty hunter arc centring around him mentoring Boba Fett. Sadly the show was cancelled before we got to see it.

cad bane was my favorite villain when I was young. That scene where he saved Obi from falling and said 'if youre gonna kill him, kill him like a man' was one of the best samples that cad bane is a man of principle and he respects skill.
The Mandalorian is already so great!! If they somehow wrote Cad Bane into some future seasons as a side villain or even possibly his own series would get Star Wars back to where it needs to be!!

One of the older episodes that wasn't finished actually shows the showdown between Cad Bane and Boba Fett. They both shoot each other in the head, but Boba's Mandalorian helmet protected him leaving a distinguishable mark. Bane however died, with a nice hat though.
@@theafaction4776 Before that episode was thought up, they said Bane was employed multiple times by the Empire which was said to be canon. Then they said Boba duels him and he dies is canon. Since both of them have no official releases as to what happened to Bane, we can't really consider either of them canon. At this point nobody is in the wrong for debating what happened to Cad Bane so anything goes. Until he appears elsewhere in canon Star Wars, his fate is ambiguous.
Man, this was such a kick-ass show. Don't get me wrong Rebels is alright, especially when Maul or Thrawn are on-screen, but it just doesn't compare to this.

I get it. Cad Bane was literally a Condottiere in his first episode, leading a band of mercenaries to attack the Senate.
And he also led the team that abducted Palpatine on Naboo. Jango was a better warrior, but Cad was by far the superior bounty hunter. He was cunning, resourceful and charismatic. His professionalism and natural leadership skills set him apart from his competition.

One of my favorite lines. Cad Bane is seriously my favorite of the bounty hunters. And probably my favorite addition to the Clone Wars behind Ashoka. He is honestly one if my favorite characters. Hope we get to see more of him one day.

There will never be another character like Cad Bane. His voice was unique in such an awesome way and he was complexly written without any redeeming qualities. Complex characters are usually given a good and a bad side or good traits to go with their bad ones, the good more or less tending to blossom for some reason or another. Cad Bane shows you don’t need to have positive traits to be extra compelling.
Cad Bane would be a great crime lord if he ever gotten board of bounty hunting in my opinion. =)

Cad Bane is my favourite Star Wars bounty hunter. I know that will be an unpopular statement but I just think he’s cooler than Boba or jango. Theyr super cool too but I just find bane more interesting.
I hope they fully animate those Clone Wars Episodes so we get to see more Cad Bane. They had several episodes of him done with voice acting they just didn't have the full animation. I hope he appears in live action as well. We need a movie where an Alien is a main character and not just Chewbacca.

Corey Burton explained that the voice is more or less is combined impressions of Peter Lorre and Vincent Price. Price in particular would get close to the mic and Burton said he did that for Bane.
