World of Tanks is a Free 2 Play online game which is available as a free download. It is one of the best video games I have ever played and I fully recommend it. - Hry
I have 1500+ games with P8.8. Best way to use this tank is to max.boost the view range and reload(DPM), my equipment is Optics, Vents and Rammer. Consumables: med kit, small and large repair kit (you get ammo racked often and DPM is your main advantage). As for the crew skills go for the BIA, view skills and camo. Your role is reconaissance flanker. Spot them and don't let them spot you, you are always guaranted hit except of some miracle bounces. This thing is a crazy credit maker. My ammo loadout is 40+ AP, 10 APCR, and couple HE for decap. If you know where to shoot you will not need premium ammo at all. Try to keep your HP for a later stage of battle, and then go for a finisher role, take a hit and give back two or three to kill them. P8.8 is not an easy tank to drive, but your big HP pool and superb DPM can make a difference at the end of the battle.

As of 9.17 The Horse Power has been buffed and the Gun Depression is 8...over the front and sides. The 8,8 is much better now.
And buffed again, 240 damage to 280 with no reload nerfs

One good thing about that tank is that the ammo on it is practically free, so it is very difficult to loose money.

I have a Panther 8,8 and it does frustrate a bit. The side armor of the Mutz scares me too, so Panther 8,8 won out for me, but it has been a long hard road with it. It is still the highest tier tank I have, and although it is sometimes fun to square off with tier 9 and higher tanks (and even inflict damage) it ends in heartbreak too often.

In this game most german tanks work like this "THIS IS THE ADVANTAGE (here DPM + accuracy)!!! And here are the negative points: *available as seperate books or eBooks from Amazon for oly 30€! (540 pages)*
Russian tanks be like: THIS IS A GUD TENK, GUD ROF, GUD ALPHA, GUD SPEED, GUD ARMOR, SMOL TENK PROFILE, ULTRA PEN. ESPECIALLY WITH HEATSKILL (and here are the weaknesses: misses 5% more of its shots than the Grille 15 in game, slightly slower than AMX CDC, armor isn't as good as Maus but comparable, low ammunition count which doesn't matter anyway because of the huge damage per shot)
And then the IS-7 gets buffed speed whilst the SuperSonic-Löwe get's nerfed, E-75 get's nerfed, E-50 get's nerfed speed.
I mean, look at the tier 1 MS-1 russian light tank! It's armor was HALFED!!! Even the fucking tier 1 was fucking overpowered. What the actual fuck is wrong with those game devs? They are more Nazi than the Reich back then ever was! Really, some times you wonder how such humans can even still stay alive.
Um, play British heavies and then compare to Russians. The British only get the guns, and even then, they don't get them till a tier higher than they should.
True that, the british tanks are pretty much on the same "respect" level. Slow, armor may be thick, but it doesn't help anyway, guns are really bad (especially up to Black Prince) and....yeah. Teh russhins dont liek brits and germs ;___;

German tanks have the accuracy, but let's put this RNG on the aim circle to make sure even the 0.3 accuracy can miss with fully aimed on a stationary tank with less than 300 meters.
jep, they have accuracy, but it doesn`t matter at all, because the wot maps are not big enough to benefit from +0,01-3 better accuracy. the shoe would be on the other foot, if the maps where 5milesx5miles big.
on this small wot maps, even russian heavys could snipe well.

I love the Panther88, it took me a while to grow this love, but now that my crew has full BIA and with equipment loaded, I can snapshot tanks running away from them, and 3/4 shots you take at them, while running away, at 300ms, will hit. It's amazing.
Just bought this as a reward for myself for getting through my exams, so thanks for the video, will help me to play it less terribly from the start :)

I had a WT Auf E-100 shooting an entire clip of HE at me the other day on console. He was in the back of the base on Northwest and I was the first vehicle he ran into....I was driving my E-100. I was so confused yet so thankful haha

Even though i stopped playing WoT a long time ago...i still love your stuff QB, whether it be tank reviews or game analysis it's always very interesting and you always make the right points and so on. Also like Jingles or MagzTV you have one of those voices that I could literally listen to for ever in a day. Although WoT is your strong point i'd love to see you return to World of Warships and maybe even play a few games with Jingles like when It went into CBT all that time ago

Great vid QB! I'm thinking of getting the Panther 88 despite the Mutz having better stats. I really enjoy my Panther/M10 and that sniper playstyle.
I dig this tank, regardless of its faults. Gun handling is comfy enough, it shifts alright, not every HE shell pens it, and the DPM is lovely to have. Not super novel or exciting, but I feel it's a solid package to make creds and exp in.
The Panther 8.8 is my fav. tank, more than 2.4K battles, bounced a FV215b (183) once and managed to bounce an IS-3 through an entire battle by using extreme angles till I got back up. Armour is crap so you need to make (very) good use of it's accurate gun, good view range and quite good camo rating.
as usual the review is spot on. the real reason I got the 88 is for crew training.
I don't know about anyone else but I think an M4A3E2 or M4A3E8 review would be pretty cool to see.
I tried this tank on the test server and I loved the accuracy and dispersion of the gun. Top class sniper.

Could you make a tank review of the maus please? I have just unlocked it as my first tier x tank but I can't seem to get a grip on the playstyle needed. Also what to do when the enemy loads premium ammo or you find yourself on open maps?

As for "If can only have one" pre'medium tank, I'd say
1) depends on your choice of nation
2) forgoing the above or not, the Fv4202 is good and the STA-2 is fantastic,
the T54proto is also a solid tank being an MBT with rather good armor and a nice gun.

+Dimitri Reznov I once did 1500 damage in the M2 Light on Xbox using the 37mm, and after like 30 battles in it I had a 72% winrate while my overall was barely over 45%...yeah, totally not a sealclubbing tank at all
well i play the panther 8.8 it is to me fun to play and i have it set for for the sniper role along with skills and camo.Play style i try to get in a good location to snipe 2nd/3rd line and move around in the back as a support role.
Quickybaby, I would like to highlight that when top tier, the panther 8,8 can sidescrape pretty well, since the side armor is pretty good and you can catch people out if they think you are made out of paper.
I have a Panther 88mm and I love it! It's the 1st and only premium tank I won and although I'm nowhere near as good as Quicky in it, watching his vids is helping me get better! It's a lovely medium tank, and it's very accurate. I wouldn't recommend it as a 1st premium tank though but for a seasoned player that likes medium tanks then yes I would!

Just bought my Panther 88 before this review. As I'm a adamant Leo1 player it fit my play style perfectly, sniping in the early game and clean up at the end. Wonderful credit maker. I'd recommend it for leo1/ru251 players :D
I would've also compared the panther 88 with the panther 2 as those 2 are very close to each other in playstyle
so if anyone wants a german tier 8 premium medium tank, try out the indenpanzer and the panther 2 to see how the mutz and the panther 88 play
Me and my friend platoon with 88's, and that is where it shines. We easily carry teams with it, it's because two or more of those fast shooting guns just rekt the enemy teams.

Thanks for showing another review, this tank needed one to show people how to play the 8.8. despite all negativity and complaining about the vehicle.
I've had it since it was first introduced. I am a TD and heavy player and I had to do ALOT of adjusting in my game play to get accustomed to this weak front armor medium so I play it mid field under cover. The gun is great but I get harassed by teammates that swear I have to play front line. It really doesn't take hits well. Hopefully I can get back in and work my crew to get the perks\skills up.
I definitely recommend the Mutz for its gun and mobility. however it really won't bounce any shots like the panther 8.8 in my opinion.
The Panther is really only good if you can circle your enemies or snipe from long range other wise going to get punished.

One of my most favourite tanks in the game
I have both this tank and the Mutz and I prefer either. both have advantages and disadvantages so as every premium tank does, for newer players learning the sniper role, the Panther 8,8 is the better choice, the Mutz seems to be geared more towards people that have it figured out at least moderately well and the versatility makes the average player do pretty well. both are solid.

have both sta2 and panther 8.8 ..... I love the panther 8.8, the accuracy is beautiful!!! I've got an ace tanker gameplay if you wish to see that which was extremely close! basically me vs a scoda t50(tier 9) and a rmht ballsig... I'll send it... But put enhanced gun laying drive equipment instead of vert stabiliser, it benefits more from that!
Panther 88 one of my favorite premium tanks but the gun depression is really troublesome to work around. Would like to see the Mutz come to console and give it a try.
Cool review. I love mine. But on the console where I play it gets premium MM. So never have to face tier X. Makes an absolute ton of cash. Faces tanks you are used to seeing in the panther but with a gun that packs a bit more of a punch.
Recommend Mutz.. The Pt8.8 is much harder to play, but can be very rewarding where the Mutz tends to be more consistent.
I absolutely love my Panther 88, always sad that it doesn't get any attention from people.
Given I adore the Mutz, and indeed it actually made me decide to go up the German medium line, when the rental 8.8 hit a while back I quite enjoyed it for the limited games I played. It made me enjoy the line, sadly the VK 30.02M is just garbage and makes me rethink the line, but Im still going to try.
I feel like the Panther 8.8 is a very consistent sniper tank. For example the position you took at the beginning of the game in malinovka, I normally get like 1500dmg just at the start of the game. Later stages you use your healthpool to brawl with low health opponents and just maybe ricochet some rounds. normally I ricochet 2 rounds per battle because of ultra side-scraping. I feel like this tank has the best gun on the worst hull.
Maybe you'll do review of Churchill GC? I know it's not popular vehicle and very rarely seen at randoms but it's not that bad TD and thank you more people could want to play it

imho its also a solid med with a realy nice view range, lots of engine power and specialMM.

Look at how much damage that t57 managed to do. He was carrying hard, and no wonder he was running out of ammo at the end there.

Module damage is terrible in Panther 88. Not sure if he pointed this out but yea... Damaged engine cripples you and it happens a lot not to mention the ammorack too!
I bought my Fv4202P some days ago,and I like it soo mutch,it has good pen, ok damage and Dpm and good turret armor, and ok hull armor.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't buy one. There are lots of much better T8 premium mediums, and for that matter the Cromwell B is a better choice.

i love my panther 8.8 i dont load mine out like you i use my view range with a cammo net binos and vents along with a full cammo crew and the view range perks then i play like a light finding bush cover at max range and picking apart opponents that never see me ive played the muttz and its allot of fun but i use it more as a med range sniper going hull down and distracting with it all in all i think they have to different play styles
that long 88mm apcr is really a deal breaker

I have a Panther mit 8.8 it is a great sniper but when I try to get stuck in (up close & personal) I die HARD & quick but I still like my Panther. I've always liked it long before WoT, I saw the real thing at Aberdeen 35 years ago And many others

I don't have the Mutz but for premium tier 8 meds I do have a T-34-3, Panther 8.8, T54 Proto, and the CDC. I honestly enjoy all 3 of them a lot. The CDC is probably the best of the bunch for me though. The T54 Proto is a seal clubber, the T-34-3 is a challenge but can compete fairly well if it's supported and you can get hull down at medium ranged. Kinda more map dependent. But the Panther 8.8 just performs for me. It's really just a harassment or Dpm tank. It has enough pen to annoy higher tier tanks and low enough damage that they will ignore you if you flank them at medium to long range. It's armor is workable at medium to long range if you sides crape and keep mobile. It can brawl against lower tier tanks fairly well. You do have to play around the gun depression and lot but that's true for a lot of tanks. Overall I really enjoy mine. It was a far better tank when it first came out though. It could be played to the meta a little better and it was easier to abuse the dpm.

I actually kind of like it. Yes, it's basically turreted TD pretending to be medium tank, but that applied to tier 7 Panther too and quite enjoyed it.
Please do a review of the Löve QB. A lord of players could use help with that tank
I have just realised - the Skoda T40 has better DPM than this tank, which means that it has better DPM than all of the tier 8 mess except for the object 416

Hey QuickyBaby, just a little heads-up: on the Xbox, this tank has preferred matchmaking, but it has almost NO gun depression.
Really my first premium. I played it more like a TD...not my favourite tank, but funny from time to time.
I have the CDC and I run Coat on it Vs Vents, but I was thinking about taking it off after I max out my crew skills that will give me more view range, and the vents will still help but also buff the rest of my crew. Is that good?

i bounce rounds decently i got shellproof in it i think thats the one where you survive the battle and block more damage than your hitpoints if the armors so crap then how did i do it

I have got a panther 88 and i think , yes its armor is not too good, but when you have trained yourself to play this vehicle , you can easily dominate tier 10 tanks
even if you get 460 or 470 meters viewrange , the tanks that you can spot goes up to max 445 meters or do you mean with that extra "viewrange" that you can see the vehicles even when you dont spotted them?
