It's funny because the Garo tribe of Meghalaya, North East India also follow similar customs. As much as I know, our tribe who are still not Christian yet, believe in unseen God who blesses them. I am a Mizo, and the truth is most of us do not believe that we are the lost tribe of Bnei Manashe of Israel. We have no traditions or rituals that point towards it, and our language is totally different. Traditionally, racially, and culturally, we are closer to Burmese and Chinese or Thais. No Kosher, No prayers, No tradition originally relating to Jewish tradition. In fact, we were introduced to the God, Jehova or Yehwah, through Christianity, during the British colonial period, in which the NE of India became a part of British India. And we all became Christians. I have no problem with people converting to Judaism, but to claim genetic heritage is something else.
