I love watching FoodKa with my fiance who is from Kolkata and moved when she was young. We miss the food of Kolkata so much. We just can't get anything as good in Australia. I really hoped the subtitles were on all the videos 😢. I am trying to learn Bengali but with the subtitles I would enjoy the videos so much more. Thank you for showing incredible India! Can't wait to visit again.
Mite in AAoostraaalia be careful while visiting "Indian" restaurants. Normally those are run by bangladeshis who name their restaurants as "indian" cuisine instead of bangladeshi cuisine.
To have an English breakfast at Flurys' is a dream for many lower middle class family scions like me.

Breakfast at flurys has lost its taste and consequently the charm....you get better quality English breakfast at other restaurants at a much competitive price, Half of the heritage eateries of Kolkata has lost its taste and charm....So Buddy Dont you worry....keep up the good work and dont be hasty about jumping on the so called Gravy train of Kolkata....Kolkata is a dying city anyway....try to build a good career, focus on your own wellbeing.

Kolkata has always been very much vivacious in its own way.. Not only by having a touch of heritage, but also as a confluence of several cultures, religions, views as well as feelings.. In that way Calcutta has been evolved into todays Kolkata with it's own stories and memories..that also has an influence on its food culture.

Calcutta to Kolkata is a unique journey for me. When I used to study at IiSWBM, I used to go to Indian coffee house with my friends and sit there for hours discussing music, studies, politics everything.
I become astonished each and every time I heard the voice of Mir.. I always think that how could a person have such a charming voice.
I was left crying after I finished watching this episode, I miss u Kolkata so much.

Mir da , we had a most discourteous experience in much hyped Flurys! When we stepped in the gateman's curt greeting was: Restrooms are out of order! The manager was compl nonchalant. We walked out never to return to reliques of colonial India. The fastfood joint across the road was enjoyable. Kudos to Wow Momos.

আমি কফি হাউসের খুব কাছেই থাকি। Lockdown এ একদিন গিয়ে অবাক হয়েছি কারণ post covid, coffee house has changed a lot. কাঁচের কাপ পাল্টে গেছে কাগজের কাপে। আগেকার কাঠের চেয়ার বিদায় হয়ে প্লাস্টিকের চেয়ার এসেছে....বদলে যাচ্ছে চেনা কফি হাউস। 😢

The reason for duel between Phiilip Francis and Warren Hastings was not because of love. It was due to the fact that Phillip Francis hated William Hastings. William Hastings was assured that Phillip Francis will not interfere in the decisions of Warren Hastings in first Anglo Maratha war, which he later did not keep. William Hastings then wrote a minute against Phillip Francis saying that he was “void of truth and honesty”, to which Phillip Francis became so angry that he challenged Hastings for a duel
