    Excellent video!! I did rejet my carburetor and after watching your video I realized that I routed my throttle cables incorrectly, the way you had them was correct.

    the side panels are all I remove ( not the seat or tank or other body parts the throttle cables are easy, just remove the two Phillips screws holding the carb bracket to the carb and then unhook the cables from the bell crank then you don't loose adjustment

    Great Video, Just installed new jets on my 09’ XRL, found out there’s no reason to undo the throttle cables near the Handlebars. All u need to do is loosen the nuts that hold the cables on to the Carb,separate the cables and no problem they pop right off.Otherwise the whole mod was done in two hours. Runs way better with no choke needed using 55/158 jets and one shim on the needle,Drilled the slide also ,,Motorcycle shop wanted $185.00 ,, LOL

    You do not need to remove the cable from the throttle. You do not need to touch the throttle at all.
    just loosen the nuts down by the carburetor and disconnect from carb

    Is there a difference between Honda nx ,xl

    • @one_terrabike3151
      @one_terrabike3151  Před 3 lety

      The NX650 and XR600R combined is what the XR650L is. It uses the frame concept off the XR600R and motor from the NX650 (its gearing is different though). The XL's are a tad older, and unfortunately I don't know too much about those 😔

    • @one_terrabike3151
      @one_terrabike3151  Před 3 lety +1

      If it doesn't idle you need to clean your pilot jet out 😁...while you're in there clean everything of course, but your needle mostly affects your mid range power.

    Can jets be switched out by just twisting carb and not full removal?

    • @one_terrabike3151
      @one_terrabike3151  Před 4 lety +2

      I've never tried that myself as you'd have to disconnect virtually everything on the carburetor to do so... That means you're only about 2 steps away from pulling the carburetor out [it'd be connected to the intake boot and airbox tube and you'd need to undo the brake reservoir bolt]. For how easy it is to just remove it and work on it while it's removed I'd just do the extra 2 or so steps

    • @krp-xe3hw
      @krp-xe3hw Před 4 lety +1

      It’s a PITA! I’ve done mine a few times to replace a rear shock. You have to remove the seat, side covers, and the little guard attached the the bottom of the box. Then take all the bolts out, disconnect the wires on top, open the zip ties attached to the top, and then collapse the intake tube and pull it through the left side of the frame. It will fit... barely.... might help to spit on it.
