I have had so many requests since last year to create this two backdrops. So I decided to put both together in this video. It took me a while to get the moon I wanted and love the way it came out. I will include two stencils, one for this large almost 8ft moon and a smaller thinner moon for those who prefer that style. I will also have the Hot Air Balloon in 6ft, 4ft and 2ft available on the Etsy store Maker Decor. You can cut the Hot Air Balloon in half for transportation. Or if you prefer you do not have to cut it and keep as is.
This backdrop is perfect for events like weddings, Bridal Showers, Baby showers, Events, Parties, birthdays, and more!

I've just started using the bosch "clean wood" blades, part no T101AO they cut slower than regular jigsaw blades, but so long as you don't force them, they leave a nice clean cut both sides 👍
Oh cool, I haven't seen those. I will have to look them up. Would help avoid a lot f the extra sanding on some of my projects. Thanks for the tip!

Hi, thank you. It is actually both. I get a lot of request for builds and I try to see if I can break it down easy for anyone to build. For this channel it wouldn't do any good to build something that would be too hard for most new to woodworking to try. So If I can think of a way to make it easy for anyone. I make it. But I also have to like the project, lol. It just feels so much fun to build something that I want to see vs something I don't. So its a mix, if I like it and how many requests will bump it up the line. Thank you for taking the time to comment and watch!! I love your work! Would you suggest painting each cut out before glueing/nailing together or paint them when they’re together?
Thank you. I would wait to paint at least the back part. Because the wood glue will not stick together over paint. It needs to be plain wood to wood to get the adhesion you need. Just because the wood glue is the main part that holds together. Hope this helps and good luck!

For the 8’ moon how much and what kind of plywood did you use?
Hi, for the 8ft I had to use two sheets of plywood 1/2 inch thick 4ft x 8ft sanded plywood.
How did you get it to standup?

Hi Ben! I need to make 3 foot letters and numbers congrats 2023 for our graduating senior class this year. Can you explain how to draw out letters and numbers of that size??? I have looked into buying stencils but its very expensive! Thank you!
Hi, thats a big project but not difficult just time consuming. Really when I first started I just used a pencil, eraser and a 3ft ruler. I would draw the 2ft x 3ft box and then just start making lines till it looked like I wanted. Not very productive but it worked out. Good luck! If you look up my earlier video where I make the 5 I believe the thumbnail has 15 in it. It shows me just drawing it out.
