Honestly, didn't know when it ended. I wasn't watching a film rather it felt like I'm there. So real, so authentic.
I can't believe the mighty feat Alina and Saim Sadiq have scaled in this wonderful little film 💜 I'm watching this film from India in 2022, and I feel so proud to come from a subcontinent which produces such wonderful content

If this is a student film. then I have no idea what a full fledge Pakistani feature production would be like... Hats off to the students who made this.

THIS is surreal. to see trans people correctly represented, to see myself represented, its a beautiful feeling. Cant wait to watch the feature film.
Alina had to persuade her dream, she started with the first step. She knew it wasn't easy for her to land the leading part no matter how good of a dancer she is. You can see her moves were better than the leading dancer's, still, she ended up as a background dancer. Meanwhile, the goat always symbolizes sacrifice, but the goat here was fully fine in the end: leading towards a flash of light. Maybe Alina's dream is yet to be manifested, not sacrificed.
I like this message .... I thought Alina was the one sacrificed killing the female .... however it's just for now ....
This is truly an underrated film which deserves greater acclaim than it has received. The cinematography and authenticity is brilliant. A raw depiction of the stage drama world and our society.

@@amalahmad3374 So Alina is a transgender woman, and she's auditioning to be the lead female in the performance (it's an erotic dance called a mujra). But the director guy tells her that the audience doesn't want to see a transgender person, they want to see a woman as the lead and boys in the back, so he rejects her. Eventually, she talks to him again and he allows her to perform with the boys in the back.
So she's sad because she wasn't given the role of the main female in the middle as society doesn't see her as female.
In a BBC Program, Alina and Naaz Joshi openly talked about their struggle... I was stunned at their courage.. they didn't give in and broke the stereotypes to bring a change! exceptional act & direction... Hats off
The sensitivity with which this film has been handled is mesmerising. How beautifully each character speaks through an established stereotype in the society. And slowly, with subtle gestures, the fate of the deprived is cemented. Congratulations on this work.
For those who didn't get the symbolism. He/She sacrificed herself to the compartmentalising of either a male or female put up by the society but saved saved the goat from being sacrificed

This is such a genius dialogue. I can have a whole class on the economics of representation in the entertainment industry using this alone.
Poignant, bitter and honest. This film encapsulates diversity and discrimination so well. Brilliant.
This is what a drama short film should be written, the arc, the metaphors and little ideas incorporate on a very beautiful visual narrative style.
i loved the long shots,the depth and dimensio, the subtle cuts, thefantastic lights the amazing performance everything about it is just on point,truely loved it!
Hats off to the director, actors and crew. Such a huge, moving short film.

Very deep short film, which portrays how transgenders are being discriminately treated. loved the subtlety of story and the way it is directed 🌸✌.

Came here after watching Joy Land. Serves as the back story and shows how the script of Joy land was edited and turned into final beautiful film

gem of a short film
For ages, we have been hearing about great films that win big time at foreign festivals. But we never ever get to see those films. So I actually gave up following on such. GHOST FILMS and never read any articles either. Because it only used to build frustration. This film is also one of them. But today it finally sees the light of the day. I remember how the Media and newspapers were raving about it last year.
For a students work. The film is good. there is a certain raw attempt to it and its interesting. The Central actor was praised for play the part so well. But I guess she was a disappointment. the boy was rather more Natural. We shall have more of such ... films coming to popular platforms.

I'm here just to see Nadia afgan.. after watching her in sumo Chanda.. she is my favourite.. I'm from India.. and she is the first thing I really like from Pakistan.. It says she sacrificed herself (her identity I u say precisely) to live in the society where she cannot chose to be either female or male. Goat symbolises that she sacrificed herself but saved goat from being sacrificed

Overall the film is good. Great work by Saim Sadiq. But, the story is a bit confusing and weak I would say. All the actors specially Mehrbano's characters as Shabo are outstanding. Moreover, Alina Darling to ab hy hi Alina Darling
