This is Alex's first time watching Dragon ball Z & Kyle has not seen the BUU saga! Bryan & Elvin has the seen show and will be joining the journey with Alex to get his reaction!
Dragon Ball Z is about a man named Goku that lives on earth and finds out he came from a different planet and doesn't know how powerful he is until villains from other planets come along.

I always liked that the three variations of Buu mirrored Gotenks’ first three fusion attempts.

The ending scene is hands down the darkest moment in DBZ history. Goku is dead, Vegeta is dead, Gohan is presumed dead, and Majin Buu has now been overwhelmed by Evil Buu, transforming into a stronger but more menacing version of himself: Super Buu. Think about the rising tension that was building up after wondering where he was heading to until you saw the tower. Not to mention the scary music playing to further develop the terror that was approaching.
When you really think about it, being stuffed so much until you literally burst from within is a horribly painful way to die, and its not even an instant death! You cant breathe, you feel your bones dislodging, your guts slowly tearing apart and then, boom! Pure agony.
I know the buu saga gets alot of flack but this episode was the first episode to cement for me why I think Buu is the most dangerous DBZ villain. No 2 episode long transformations, no henchmen to do his work, no pride or ulterior motives, no waiting around. He is simply just pure evil and enjoys destruction. I mean in one episode evil buu beats the good buu, transforms, kills the gunman, and goes to the lookout. Buu doesn't mess around.

Yea bro and if you look at all the things buu has done and will do in future episode's and put it up against all the things the androids and cell did combined still don't compare to just buu
And he doesn't just kill the gunman, he kills him on one of the most grotesquely brutal ways possible, by going _inside of his body_ and then making him _explode_ from the inside! Sure, the guy likely died long before the actual explosion, but even so the final moments he had as he died must have been agonizing beyond words....not to mention the kind of horrified helplessness he must have felt to realize that Buu was killing him _from inside of his own body_ of all things! The gunman's death gives new meaning to the term "body horror", and that's putting it mildly!

I like the Buu saga a little more than the Cell saga only because i love unpredictable plotlines
Cell was pretty unpredictable up till the cell games. Even then the twist of Gohan

Buu Saga is far and away my favorite of the big 3, and I'm kind of surprised that it's such a rare opinion. There are so many iconic "moments" that happen in it. Probably more than the first two combined. And the overall pacing is so much better, at least until the end, where it does admittedly drag on.
I agree, Buu arc was the most enjoyable throughout. Frieza and Cell arc are more loved I feel due to the super iconic SSJ1 transformation and Gohans SSJ2 transformation. Buu saga fights were cooler and the plot was unpredictable

Even tho buu is pfp I def have this arc as my 3rd fav arc in Z behind 1. Frieza and and 2. Cell but I will say its my 3rd or 4th fav in the entire series 😂

I enjoy the Cell saga and the Buu saga equally, both are my favorites.
Super Buu’s theme is so good and he’s definitely more terrifying then his good counterpart, man Piccolo and the others are in serious danger especially since Goku, Vegeta and Gohan aren’t there

The Android/Cell saga is my favorite, but in my opinion, Buu is the scariest villain. However, it’s also why I don’t like this season as much as some of the others. For me, Majin Buu was absurdly powerful, to the point where it just got ridiculous. On top of that, this is the first real season where most of the characters are either completely irrelevant or totally useless. The only thing that really saves this season for me is the character development of Vegeta.
Frieza is my favorite saga
11:32 I can't even blame you for that jump scare we all know if this freak was real it would actually be terrifying like bruh look at this monster, imagine thinking dbz was for kids lmao yet we all grew up with it. This is my favorite saga but in terms of storytelling the cell saga is by far the best especially in terms of writing. In terms of stakes and unpredictability and intensity this arc is by far the craziest and reason being is the villains character, as every villain before had relatively high intelligence. Majin Buu is like broly but the difference is at least with broly you know what to expect which is a psychopath going on a killing spree but throughout this arc, as CJ the champ would say, some of the shit this ultimate menace was doing is just unexplainable bruh. Like the problem with predicting this dude is that he's like a child but a child with all that power could be considered a force of nature at that point.
Lmaoo right that jump scare came out of nowhere for me but Damm it's true we grew up on this and it's still very unpredictable 😅
I may be writing this a little late,
Majin buu split into two beings because his life goal has been to wreak havoc and destruction. By suppressing those emotions (because he made a promise to Satan and had a little bit of kindness feeling inside him) he made his evil side unable to contain himself anymore by bringing out a dark and ruthless side as it is his alter ego.
By splitting in two the dark part had more power because it was the liberated part that the fat Buu has always had repressed. Fat Buu occasionally released that malice from time to time as we saw against Majin Vegeta.
The dark part when consuming the fat Buu acquired a superior power since both parts added together brought out the maximum potential of the being that is Majin Boo, this is the reason he can detect power levels when before not and this being is known as Super Boo.

The whole Fat Buu -> Evil Buu -> Super Buu transformation is honestly the highlight of the entire Buu Arc, with the only real competition being Majin Vegeta. Fat Buu was innocent and was only destroying because bad people told him to destroy. Once he actually understands that what he's doing is wrong, he stops without a second thought and dedicates himself to being a good person - right before he is exposed to the cruel and careless evil that others are capable of. For the first time in his life, he is caught in an internal struggle between the goodness that he has just learned to love and the harsh evil of the world around him - and, because of the nature of Buu, this inner struggle becomes an outer struggle! And the first thing that Evil Buu does isn't pick a fight with Fat Buu, but execute the man that hurt his friends.
There's a quote from the manga that isn't present in the anime that highlights why Evil Buu is so much stronger than Fat Buu - "Alas, sweetness stands little chance... against concentrated wrath..." Fat Buu represented childlike innocence - something that could never hope to stand up to evil alone. Once Evil Buu devoured Fat Buu - winning the very literal battle for the soul of Buu - he became Super Buu - which is Buu stripped of all of his innocence. He still cannot bring himself to hurt his friends, but he is a cruel and violent creature that knows exactly what pain he's causing and relishes in it.

Not gonna lie I watched the Buu saga and was not the biggest fan. Yes it has its moments and I'm not gonna discredit people who love it but it will never be my go to saga when I want to watch DBZ.
That fucking inflation explosion death is one of the most horrific scenes in anime imho... And I've seen the goriest of gory animes... :/

The reason I think evil buu is stronger then the original is cause evil buu isn’t hinder by morals he is pure evil he is ruthless buu learned to be good he learned what that was for the first time it was a foreign concept to him so he literally split because of it. So now one said isn’t as ruthless and intent to kill while the other is.
Buu saga is somewhat better than cell saga
As much as i enjoyed the cell saga majin buu saga is just better its more unpredictable and when cell became complete it wasnt so scary to me my first time watching on live tv but when i finally saw buu transform for the first time i was terrified for piccalo on down to dendae and mr popo i just knew bad for everyone once buu went straight to the lookout
I know what the guy with the glasses means (Kyle I think?) I like both sagas for different reasons, but even though Goku is taking this buu thing so nonchalant because hes dead, the steaks with buu are much higher than cell because cell was just there to achieve perfection whereas with buu, you don't know where his unpredictability and destructive nature will lead him.

I agree, the fact that the great sayiaman arc was my favourite arc in the buu saga - before any inclination of the villain even existed - is testament to how overall weak I think the Buu saga is, when compared to the Frieza and Cell saga. Though it is still good. I think it did the most things right out of all the sagas, but also simultaneously the most things wrong, they fit in so many concepts in such a short amount of time.

We go with fatbuu (original before the split) good buu (fatbuu with his evil half removed) grey buu (evil buu), and now we have superbuu. Grey buu was stronger than good buu because when they split in two, he received more power, like when king piccilo split from kami. I dont think superbuu is stronger than fatbuu (I think they are the same strength, but superbuu knows how to control all of his powers where as fatbuu doesnt, which is why fatbuu kept getting stronger as he fought stronger opponents, and this where like I dont think ssj3 goku can actually beat buu, because he never fought a full power majin buu. Superbuu is Fat buu's full potential realized, in complete control as a warrior and (mostly pure evil like piccilo said).

My opinion Super Buu is Dragon Ball Z most powerful and more sinister villain throughout the franchise he's more unpredictable and more powerful than frieza and cell hands down that's why he's my favorite villain.
