im honestly confused what the point of this is and idk how it makes it easier for big teams to stay at the top, i think its an all around L because more games, more injuries, but more money for everyone so i meannnnn idk, theyll probably have to add some new rules like the blue card so that players dont destroy their bodies on the field, basically americanizing the most amazing sport on the planet

I think the problem with UEFA is they don’t sanction these teams that don’t obey the rules of salary caps and UEFA lets these teams compete with smaller teams following the rules.
In Football Manager, they did the matchups pretty fun tbh. I had Real Madrid and I was playing against City, Bayern, Milan, Leipzig and some smaller teams too.
i can already see the amount of injuries increasing with the extra games you have to play in this new format
I can see it too, which will then force teams to rotate and put on youth. In that sense it may help the sport. But injuries are no fun and the optics of earning more money at the the expense of the health of the players looks bad.

I say keep the same but put 4 spots for Ligue 1 and 12 spots for champions outside for top 5 leagues only champions. Keep the same format for Europa league top 5 leagues runner up 4 , 12 runner up teams
Guarantee this will benefit the europa league more. The ucl will always be the sand team I believe and the knockouts will maybe have a few surprises but I doubt it. They have to increase the squad sizes for teams to avoid injuries regularly
so places 9-24 which already will be underdogs, financially and talent wise, now have to play two extra games compared to the top eight which would just be the football giants of the world. It is definitely a “rich get richer” scheme.

Considering the amount of teams that the big 3 leagues get in the champions league, you’ll get big games all round but also less opportunity for the Dutch, Portuguese and French teams to get far

i mean i dont think it will change anything because the big teams still have to play the small teams
The big teams will probably be placed in pot 1 of the draw. Each team will play two teams from each of the 4 pots. So there is a potential for each team in pot 1 to be drawn with two quarterfinal like draws from the start of the season.
You should get 4 teams on ypur level and 4 teams on a lower level. So madrid will get city, bayern and psg, but also ajax, benfica, Atlanta, gala
The question is how are big and small teams gonna be classified? Cause if you look at this current UCL, most would consider Porto and Royal Antwerp as smaller teams, but surely you wouldn’t classify them as equals, one is clearly much better than the other. And what about Barca. Normally European giants, but as of late, not too hot. Are they a big team or a small team? If they do start doing better in the UCL, will they’re classification change?
@yeezyskeezy8039 they'd probably do seeding pots like now. Barca will always be a massive club, in terms of appeal to players. I get what you're saying 100% about Porto, antewep, etc. I don't get why they're changing what was a successful, working format, other than for money. To me, it's a scaled down version of the failed super league. Fifa and ueafa wants the biggest clubs in the ko stages and not smaller clubs

How can you have teams that all play different opponents in the same table. Imagine Man City won the Premier League because they didn't have to play Liverpool or Arsenal or because they only played Liverpool at home and not at Anfield which would be 10 times harder

How is this not perceived by people as super league carbon copy? No back lash for UEFA going to the same format is hilarious. A big issue with UEFA is they dont share enough revenue with the clubs who produce the revenue. UEFA should not make more money than the teams themselves. Why would a club choose between two of the same formats if one they have to share 50% revenue or one where they don’t have to share any revenue. Super league will help clubs financially way more than this.

First I thought that as well that it will not be good for small teams but then I thought why do I care??😂😂 I wanna see big teams playing against each other more often and not just in UCL semis and finals. Bring it on, I am excited to watch big matches, I love big matches even if my team loses, it’s just fun watching amazing football from some of the best teams. Who cares about small teams??

The point of this format is to make the knockout rounds more interesting, who wants to see man c vs copenheigen in a round of 16
but the champions league is a competition for big teams why u care about smaller teams the way i see it its good we get to see more games between big teams facing each other for 3 point games then we get to see them again in the knockout stages its better then seeying man city eliminate a big team early then you have a bad semi final vs a smaller team + the team that can make semi final now must be a good team it has to be. like this year we had a death group of 4 top teir tems psg-bvb-milan-new castle then you have an ez group like the man city one or the barca one i see it as a good move by UEFA

The super league at least give the chance to small clubs to be in a big competition and develop more in the long term. They would gain much more money than ever, the pro for the small clubs is that they can become a big club while spectators see the best matches more often and big teams gain more money too. Its a win win for everyone. Small clubs are already playing against big teams always, at least with Super League your club is growing and hopefully one day you stop being the club who sells and be the one buying its that simple nothing will change in a day. It takes time and work, big teams had to do that in their begining too
