- Paralyzed in a car accident days before her 18th birthday, Amberley Snyder grew up racing rodeo horses and dreamed of becoming a world champion barrel racer. Despite a medical prognosis that she may never walk again, Snyder motivated herself to get back on her horse. Now, when she isn’t giving motivational speeches she competes in rodeos, her dream of becoming world champion is still going strong.

@Siobhan Brennan If you are gonna rant and rave about something then at least learn how to spell and punctuate.... Oh and how to capitalize the right words. And another thing is that you said you couldn't be bothered to tell them how wrong they are but you proceeded to type several huge paragraphs about why you think they are wrong. Yes some equestrians do use huge bits and pull on the horse's mouth a lot but you can't always assume that the horse is in pain just because their mouth is open. I had a gelding that I rode in a hackamore and he ran with his mouth open all the time. And also the horse's ears rotate in the direction that they're listening and since she is on the back of the horse and has to talk to cue him his ears point back. So I do think everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but if you were an equestrians you would understand that the majority of us do care for our horses the best we can and professional equestrians take care of their horses by giving them top notch treatment everyday. Also is riding horses is abuse then why don't we just say that nobody should have pets.

Nightbird, you are very very wrong. Barrel racers always try their best to be smooth and easy with their hands.... I myself am a barrel racer and there are clinics and videos specially for learning to be soft.. have you ever run barrels? Because if you have you would know that you are extremely wrong 😒 also most barrel horses love their job and are well taken care of. Horses are large animals and are very tough. So before you go on ranting, know what you are talking about 😠

And the aids should be soft, which is definitely the case with the rider in this video, do you have a GED? Then go to a proper equine college and get back to us ok?

good movie, but very stupid to reach for a map, take off seat belt, vrs..stopping and then going after your map.. specially right after your GPS turns off, just makes her look like a typical blond..
I'm happy she is alive and achieved her dream ,but if she would have been smarter accident would have never happened.. like the accident scene, I literally said out loud " wow how stupid can you be!!".. just being honest.. again glad she is alive and achieving her dreams and goals. and I wish her all the best in the world..

I had a accident when I was four, a really tame dressage horse bolted on me, but now it’s my quest to compete in dressage. I didn’t get back on a horse for 7 years. And now I can ride again!

For anyone who hasn’t had the luck of having a horse in their life it is truly life changing. I went from living downtown in a major city in Washington to living on a farm in Montana and my soul has never felt cleaner. My horse experience was zero a calendar year ago and now I’m planning a multi day solo camp trip with them.
I live in Washington now xD. I don't live on a farm or anything but I have had horses in the family since I was born. They just board at someone's house
I have severe PTSD so being able to work with my horses every day and being away from the city helps me manage my stress levels and lets me know that there is something worth working for.
I remember reading about Amberley a few years ago, she is so inspirational.
I rode professional race horses at the race course for over a decade, today I cannot sit on a horse for more than thirty seconds , with all faculties in place - by the grace of .... ! Amberley - is a perfect phenomena, of both mental & physical - Grit - Par Excellence - beyond all bounds - A Standing example , inspiring to the core , the Film is Brilliant !!!
To the brave women and there amazing horses that keep dreams alive my daughter saw this and was inspired thank you both for your perseverance
