I'm an entj who often thinks I'm mistype, and that I'm actually an intj. The only reason behind this is because I feel that my Ni is very constant, dominant and hardly gets shut down, while my Te sometimes gets shut down, at times for a very long period when I'm exploring and getting in touch with my Fi (mid life crisis mode). But ppl who know mbti thinks I'm more ENTJ.
it seems like youre aware of your ni usage meaning its conscious so it could mean its ur auxiliary function becuz dominant functions tend to be harder to spot since they feel very natural to the person
For me, Ni is basically like when you're watching a movie and with little information given you immediately start to see what's going on beneath the surface or get an idea of what the plot is early on. Or it's like I could think of someone randomly then get a call or text from said person right afterwards without prior notice. It's like that gut feeling you get when you know you're at the wrong place wrong time and you just don't feel right about it or just need to leave the situation etc. Similar to epiphanies or just knowing something without any context or whatever. You just know for the sake of knowing.

Yeah, I hear you. To be clear, this was not about discerning a type from a first-person perspective. I am not (and could not directly) speaking to the phenomenology of how an INTJ renders their reality. That said, this one didn't turn out that great. I'll probably redo it at some point.
I have the same issue, im not that social and my energy isnt that high as its been described in a stereotypical ENTJ description, when l mixed Enneagram with youngs typology system i came across the idea of subtypes, some ENTJs are more introverted then the ENTJs who have a developed Se child function and they are the majority .
I find entjs are pushy in helping, and I find intjs aren't..entjs know best, u should do this this and this in the te realm.. intjs are just more excepting of you should figure what you need to do, they don't steamroll you, more you do you, totally love intjs I am a entp, as intjs are my shadow.. I find they know themselves yet they don't.. it'd weird to explain.
Isn't Ne user more out of context than Ni? I have a hard time identifying Ni dom TBH. I usually just look for their Te and whether the person likes to talk about systems/the future or some actions they/someone suppose to do. I notice Te dom likes to tell others what to do A LOT.
Yup. My brother is a ENTJ and I am INTJ. ENTJs love telling others what to do - but unlike ESTJ who based it on corporate rules and codes or culture or tradition - ENTJs base it on some insight they have intuited. And, unlike ESTJ, they are ready to update their plan when they find a better insight or model of thinking. A Ni dom can be inferred through the "kind" of arguemnts s/he makes in conversation (which are nothing more than expressions of his own thinking method). To any proposed "plan", an Ni dom would argue from its "end point". Starting from a point where "as if" the plan is done, now what happens to all these other dynamics which we can already infer will act this and this way? And based on that, the plan must change. So an Ni dom had completely skipped the "logistical part", and is starting from what happens once this is done - and we can already see this and this will happen which we don't want - and hence we need to revise the plan. Ni Doms would also not base plans on "social ideals" (unless s/he is a Ceo, where he has to look for profits). ENTJ mind processes the present reality (Te dom) and figures a way to optimise what the present offers (Ni aux). INTJ mind first sees where the present is heading to, and then can conclude that optimization is not possible or useful anymore, entire structure (Te) has to change / update. In general, this might manifest as ENTJs figuring how to optimise or make the best of / in "what is there", which orients them towards figuring best ways to maximize resources, while INTJ might "see" that where things are headed, resources maximization is not going to be of use, we need "new ideals" and have to restructure everything. This does not mean the "seeing" would be necessarily correct, but all plan of actions would be coming out of this anticipation of the "new future" towards which things must move towards (or they are going to waste). This might show certain frustration among INTJs and force then to have small businesses preparing for Doomsday survival, piotical revolutionary theorizing, or arts to awaken the people. But whenever you see a "everything must change" where the reasoning is sound but the change appears to big to be possible, it is more likely an INTJ than ENTJ. INTJs also use analogies and paradoxes more in their speech and works than ENTJs. These are certain ways by which you can tell who is who.

Thanks for explaining the distinctions. I've always felt like an alien and slightly out of touch with reality and living in my head. Definitely INTJ.
