@@angrytigermpc he wasn't spawn camping though, but i agree, taking out an enemy player who killed most of your team is a good idea, that's what planes are for, not for killing enemy tanks that just spawned.

also, he wasn't locking anything to be fair... I mean, this game has one of the most stupid mechanics you can think of in a realistic game mode, which is kill cam... if only team mates would be less idiotic and actually ping enemy players after they die - and, also, if the others would give a shit when, by any chance, someone does that, instead of just completely ignoring the damn mini map - that would never be an issue.
In fact, the deaths I feel the most stupid about is when someone tells on the chat "sniper around there", I go out trying to find the sniper, and get killed by it instead - because I've been warned.
No need for planes here, he was on the peak of a mostly exposed hill. It is just terrible players - not like my abilities are good, but I sure can use a mini map, unlike most of those damn blind players out there.

Finally, my favorite TD gets some love. Quick reload for the gun, coax can slaughter light skinned vehicles, amazing selection of rounds, superb mobility, and the armor is so memetastic. If you angle properly, everyone thinks you’re showing too much of the cheek, and bounces. It was good even at 7.3, but *hoh* is it amazing now.
I was happy when it got a downtier to 6.7, right into my 6.7 lineup.
Unlike popular opinion (compared to reddit and forum posts) I love that thing and it's strong. I farmed the hecc to the APDS which turned the TD into a sniper of doom that make it's gameplay much different from other SU tank series. This thing lowkey made me want large exposed maps like kurks, the castle with modern tanks and sinai desert to snipe across the place.
The mobility is decent, not particualry fast, but it turn on itself nicely and will go where it want with ease.
Wiki says armor is bad, but when you fight APHE from poor M26, panthers or tigers from a certain distance, I found out that the thing will surprisingly tank those rounds frontally with ease, even more if you stand far far back. And the 200mm mantlet is wonders versus WW2 ammunition.
Twin 14.5mm for killing planes and light-tanks/cars trought the ammo belts are somewhat short and reload slow.
A rangefinder to better estimate long-distances
But the thing that make this thing truly special is it's quick-reloading (for a 122mm) cannon with a wonderfull APDS round.
While sometime the round just gaijin itself aside and misses, it is otherwise very accurate at ranges at it's BR and is rather easy to aim with a nice predictable trajectory.
And for a AP round, the APDS damage can often end up with a 1-shot if the crew is packed or ammo is hit, and can cause debelitating damage that doom the tank to recive your second finisher shot.
Sniping versus tiger and panthers who struggle to land a hit, even less penetrate your tank miles away is bliss.

@@juracan8591 that is my case with the cursed ASU-85. The tank is uber shit, and yet, somehow, I like the feeling of driving it. Of course, no longer than 2 matches, and not without lots of rage.
Not as much, but similar feeling I have to the Pershing as well - looks just AMAZING to me, but performs like a 5.7 panther being at 6.3.

In all honesty and all irony aside I actually liked this tank as soon as I got it. I originally just wanted to get the other thanks after this one but it’s such a fun tank to use, as it and heat for long range, amazing reload for the round, classic soviet big boom shells and a phenomenal low profile makes a very decent tank Indeed and I’m glad it finally gets its recognition it deserves, great vid phly lovin it 👍

Hey Phly, here’s an idea for you. Play the amx30 (1972) with the 20mm autocannon but what you have to do is take up an AA role when they have aircraft up. The 20mm on that thing shreds aircraft and can elevate really high

To the players that enjoy playing Pre-stabilized tanks, if you go into:
Options > Tank Battle Settings > Block Vertical Aiming While Braking
This will stop your gunner from aiming at the moon while your tank comes to a stop, and hopefully you'll get your gun on target faster.
Phly's video just reminded me on it and honestly I cant really tell for sure if he has it turned on or not, but as far as I can tell it looks like he doesnt. I can totally be wrong tho.

SU-122-54 at 6.7. I have played it in a complete 7.3 lineup for months and my conclusion on it is that it that it fires effectively the same ammo as a 100mm on the T-54 1951 with a longer reload and worse accuracy. The armor is nice with it being just good enough to take long 88 and not having significant weakspots.
My final conclusion was that it would be a great fit for 7.0 and more so if they improved the gun accuracy a bit for long range fighting. It seems that they instead moved it to a BR where the armor will allow it to bully WW2 tanks and LOL-Pen the heavy tanks at range with HEAT-FS combined with the rangefinder getting the range down before even firing the first shot as most tanks at 6.7 got to do.

Fun fact the SU-122-54 was the first tank to be released with 400 mm of heat back in 2015 to counter the Maus spam. The tank that had the best heat before the SU-122-54 was the M103 with 380 mm of penetration.
One of the swedish Tank Destroyers at 5.7 had These heat ammo with 400mm of Pen, too!!!
