One of Guy Ritchie's MOST Underrated and sadly least mentioned films of his Career (thus far anyways). It's tragic how so many people who claim to be fans of Guy Ritchie's work, yet have still never seen ( with some people still having never even heard of it before) this Fantastic Film! Even MORE tragic is how Guy has STILL not (supposedly just not been able to) made the as promised sequel, The REAL RocknRolla, to this movie yet! He said that he had very much wanted to make it, even having made a treatment and already started on a rough draft. But then his career suddenly blew the Hell up and his appointment book was suddenly booked solid for the next 5-7 years (in itself nothing to complain about obviously). Next thing ya know a whole decade passed by and he was still no closer to being able to start working on it. However, and this is all according to Guy himself thru various interviews, the problem that he was now facing was not so much his schedule like schedule but rather that of his main cast members. Because over the past 10 or so years, basically all the main cast members have also gone on to have incredible success in their own careers and were now big stars with a long list of commitments already booked and plenty of offers always being sent to them. Hell just the cast of the Wild Bunch alone you got Tom Hardy, Idris Elba and Gerard Butler... Plus you got Mark Strong and the Real Rock n Rolla himself Toby Kebbell... also Jeremy Piven, Ludacris, Thandie Newton... I mean talk about a cast that blew up! Most of these actors are considered A-List talent now. I mean trying to coordinate with the agents in order to get that many very big , very sought after, stars booked together on the same damn film is crazy. That's not even taking into account how much a cast like that is going to cost! Though, I have a feeling that many of them would be happy to lower their asking rate in order to accommodate Guy on being able to make the film... Call me naive if you like, but a lot of people are pretty loyal to Guy as were it not for him casting them in one of his films, who knows what their career would be today. Anyway... If you want to see Real Rock n Rolla get made, then please keep tweeting (or Instagram him),about it to Guy Ritchie then.
