I love the guys with big pop. However, I do think a “no repeat tricks” rule would only benefit the competition moving forward.

It would be different if he beat Levi based on pure skill but no he exploited a weakness and hammered it in. Just like Leandre skating against Chase Webb. He did all the tricks with a huge Ollie and Chase is like a foot and a half shorter than him. It’s playing dirty. This match was dirty. We all saw Levi limp away from that first attempt to nollie over the ledge and John took advantage of his injury for the sake of guaranteeing a win

Repeating an obstacle is prohibited, it's a rule but they don't follow it, unfortunately, because if a guy is good in one and already notices the other's weakness he'll just stay in that spot, they should follow this rule and includes another, not repeate trick, or this will turns into a festival of ollies or switch ollies or something like that, over everything, or jumping something and the game becomes very boring, repetitive and appellative.

I don't think it's dirty. Games of skate or (macba) are like that. I do my tricks, you do your tricks. That's logical and expected for each competitor.

What makes an interesting game of skate is the dynamic back and forth of offensive x defensive tricks, this match had 01 defense, the previous one had 03, and I didn't even counted the others and women's matches, maybe it is time to revisit these rules to make it interesting again 😴
It's kind of the nature of this kind of contest though. How would you even change it?
@@fjordan2345 Giving a bit more of a framework that stimulate back and forth offense x defense, the format right now is too lose and doesn't allow it. Some reference of stable formats: BATB, Slides & Grinds, even the Berrics nailed with the "Full Park Battle, Felipes VS Ribeiros"
@igomk what's unique and enjoyable about this contest is the more open framework in my opinion. It'd rather watch this that slide and grinds or batb personally, even if there is less back and forth
@@fjordan2345 I can agree with you in some level. IMO when there are no defenses in a battle it lacks on interaction between the 2 competitors, taking the competitivity away. Some suggestions showed up here on adding a bit of a framework to obstacle/trick selection could start to solve it.

@brunofranca3718 the only time its arguable that he repeated an obstacle was the ledge twice... kind of. He did it in a different spot and manualed on the pad below - I think that's reasonable to consider it a different spot.

To all these comments about fairness, let's not forget these people are ultimately trying to win to get paid. We're here for the fun, but they're here for the prize. Levi was also playing his own game -- not everybody has switch lazer flips on lock. Both were trying similar strategies. I think it's one of those where being first makes all the difference.

the people complaining about this edition, or didnt watched the last 2 or 3 on macba life or didnt bother to think while watching it.
the last ones where all Macba lokals or people who go to macba A LOT, like Lemos, Gabriel etc, so they know what they are getting in to and they can compete, this edition fells like they flew a bunch of people there and didnt told them what they where getting in to, so Levi would allways face a pop guy.

I agree you have to put in work for that pop but this isn’t an event with a $100k prize purse for the winner. This is a competition between skaters who all know each other and Tiago, Leandre Sanders & John DiLo saw a weakness and just hammered it in so they could get an easy win.
