  • A couple of hours before the prime minister’s announcement, Allegra Stratton emerged tearfully from her London home, saying she was resigning her government job and offering her "profound apologies" for appearing to make light of Covid rules.

    The most worrying point that seems to be missed is that no one in the video or at the 'parties' was SCARED. Scared, as the rest of the public were, about a virus so virulent that you couldnt be close to anyone without fear for your own life. So what information did they withold that the British public were not made aware of? And for that matter, who are the other people sitting around so close to one another in the video, their faces screened? What right to anonymity should be afforded to them? Were they also part of the MSM?

    Asks if the press can stop taking the pictures prior to making her speech. This is the same press you have fawned over to deliver the 'message' you sought. You allowed such an environment to exist. Yes, it is distressing to see someone so upset. However, it really is of your own making. In saying that, the main protagonist still has their job. There is clearly a lot of fervour at present but the same press - especially Tory leaning - have almost been forced to run this on their front pages. For reasons unknown, the PM has been Teflon for too long. Here's hoping the non-stick has run its course.

    What I want to know is why has this footage only surfaced now? This was a year ago, someone has been sitting on it. It should have been released when it happened. What was the motive behind that? We should have had this information then when we were doing what we could to mitigate the toll of this awful disease.
    This is a kick in the teeth to the families of relatives who died alone without the comfort of having their family with them, leaving them traumatised knowing that they could not be there with them in their final hours, not just patients who sadly died of COVID but of all illnesses.

      Also it's surfacing, while revealing some basic low level tory dumbfuckery, is likely to have a serious negative impact on public sense(and therein public health) around the pandemic, and a year ago, we did not have a mostly vaccinated population taking some of the burden off of the strangled NHS.
