  • This list as a whole can explain why Buckethead should be higher on your list of "Greatest Guitarists." He doesn't have to be number one, but I do think he needs to be way up there.
This list is not perfect. By all means, I don't think a "perfect" list even exists. This is just my attempt to help people hopefully come to a greater understanding of Buckethead's amazing guitar career.
    Songs In the video:
    Siege Engine
    Disintegration Mirrors
    Boris
    Griffin's Spike

(Fun fact: Buckethead has actually played his guitar at closer to 600 shows rather than 500.)

at a show i went to i saw a little girl hand him a note and a drawing. buckethead at first wouldn’t take it “i found out later some pos wrote buckethead a death threat so i guess that was why” so she kept handing it to him so he finally took it.
fast forward a year i went to see buckethead again at that same place. i was shocked to see that girl there again she’s like 14 and it just stood out to me that she loves his music wears a bucket on her head and all that jazz. well i went up to her and her dad and told them i have recorded her handing buckethead the note because it was during the toy hand out and asked if they wanted me to send it to them they was happy and the dad gave me his contact info so i sent it to them. later that night during the toy hand out buckethead handed HER a note. i got to see it. it was from him to her thanking her for the kind words and the drawing..
how awesome is that. the girl was crying nonstop. how much it meant to her that a artist she looks up to did that for her. NOT only remembering a year later but was appreciative of her as a fan.
buckethead is truly a good guy and the world needs more people like him

I'm surprised that his offer from Ozzy Ozbourne isn't on this list. Ozzy Ozbourne, probably the god of Rock n' Roll, wanted Buckethead to play guitar for him... on the condition that he remove his bucket. Buckethead said no. Every other artist out there would have bent over backwards to just get the offer at all and would have bent over again if Ozzy asked them to.
Buckethead removes his bucket for no one... not even Ozzy Ozbourne.

When I first heard Buckethead as a kid, I always said to myself "I have to be as good as him". Well, 12 years from learning the guitar alone, I'm nowhere near as good, sometimes anxiety still kicks in how not good I'm at it sometimes (especially when it comes to solos).
But then I learned that this isn't a competition, not a game to win, It's all about giving yourself (stereotypes aside). Buckethead is the person I always wanted to be, but failed miserably, always told myself that I'll never smoke, or drink, or do drugs or swear. And I feel guilty for not being able to live up to those statements I made when I was 13.
Buckethead is truly the goat, an easy question to answer when someon asks: "Who's the greatest guitarist?", and one of the greatest human being to walk this earth.

I’ve listened to buckethead for years and never knew he was so humble and down to earth. It is crazy to see any one with that type of talent and not have an ounce of cockiness in them. There are a few rock magazines that have posted stories about the theft if you want more information to help.

Awesome video. I love your commentaries BD. Also wanted to mention, your video on Buckethead versatility and time signatures could include a few extra tracks. While Buckethead definitely prefers to rock out in common time, he does briefly switch to 3/4 time near the end of Oakridge Cake. And he also plays with the time signatures in the intros to The Moss Lands and Ramp Ahead. Just FYI. Of course, I'm still working my way through his plethora of songs so I'm sure there are other examples.

It's so funny how we can identify him playing so clearly in that album, so sad slash is butchering all of his solos.

Buckethead is literally one of the best person and guitarist in the world! When I first saw him live in concert, I had to travel from the other side of the ocean( I’m from Italy, in Europe) to Florida, and first of all I was so happy to have done so many miles and finally see my hero! So I prepared something like a big piece of paper, to show to him that the love for his music could arrive very far far away! He notice me, and he let me play the Killerswitch for first!! He came directly to me, to lend his guitar over my head! I was dying inside for the emotion! Thank you so much Big B, as always you give the best to all your fans, and we can’t love you more, day after day!!! And thank you also Buckethead Disciple for your amazing videos!

He’s my main inspiration as a guitarist. His tone is so iconic I can recognize it anywhere. So much it can be compared to a human voice’s identity. He straight up plays his heart out.

Saw him when I was about 13 years old, over 10 years ago. It's still the best show I've ever been to and I've been to some pretty good shows. He absolutely killed it and I got to shake his hand, play his killswitch, and got a Friday the 13th jason figurine from him during the toy shop section. I was so stoked cus he was my idol at the time

Extremely well done presentation. I did one on the history of Guns N Roses on my page so I can appreciate the amount of thought and work you put into it. It was very well laid out and thought out. The only things you really missed were discussing the different aspects of his career such as the early character horror based songs about stuff like the fictional Buckethead Land, talking about how all his albums change style from one to the next, or that besides the albums with various names, he's since been releasing albums he calls pikes. You did however mention those a bit and that they cover various styles. Giving samples of the different styles would also have been helpful for those not familiar with him I know that all if the above though would have resulted in a much longer video.

Guess the first stop we will do toghether will be a Death Angel show when they are around the next time. Since my Kids know Mark, i probably have to take the 4 year old sister to the show as well 😂

I recently started listening to him while going through a rough patch in life. I have known about him for a long time but never listened. I instantly felt something stir inside me so I have been doing reaserch about him. The more I find out the more I feel he was put in my life for a reason. I have always liked “weird“ bands like Primus and Gwar but his music just hits me differently and finding out what a great person he is makes me like him that much more!!! Rock on Buckethead🤘
