It's probably too late but you may want to have a handful of lesser effort videos on the backburner you can upload so the algorithm doesn't screw you over for a few weeks or months of inactivity.
I have some videos prefilmed for the next 3 weeks :)

thank you!!
Aw, thanks for listing Be My Cat in this 🙏 and for the kindness of calling me kind 😊
we need more filmmakers like you! 🙌
I was so uncomfortable throughout the entire movie lol felt way to realistic. Hope to see more movies from you!
Man, good to know your not like you were in the movie (P.S your acting is terrifyingly good!)
How come mfs that make the weirdest most disturbed content are usually very lovely people lol
I watched the Handmaid's Tale with no breaks and wasn't as disturbed as when I watched your movie! Love your film
Congratulations on the new baby girl! Sagittarius Queen 👸
thank you!!
quen
The Blair Witch Project is pretty much the only reason the rest of the movies in the tier list exist so of course it would have be top tier.
If you wanna be technical, the Blair Witch Project wouldn't have existed if Cannibal Holocaust did not invent the genre.
I still talk about The Tunnel, that movie freaked me out more than most. That scene where they can hear noises through the sound guys equipment. So creepy!! **It's still free to watch on CZcams. I recommend anyone who hasn't seen it to watch!
It is one of my favorite movies. There is that one scene that I had confused as being in AASB but was actually in The Tunnel that was the most effective scene in any horror movie I have ever seen. Not gonna spoil it of course for anyone who hasnt seen it and not even sure if it works for everyone but its in my top 5 movies
@@Ava_Orchid I want to know what scene! Put spoiler before it and then tell me haha. AASB was also really good!
I seen that movie and it just wasn’t enough for me. It felt like the scares were sprinkled in and I could barely get a good look at the creature. Too much talking in the beginning that doesn’t equal to the scares/gore. I almost fell asleep in the beginning until they got to the tunnel. All in all I was just disappointed.
I agree. Extremely underrated in general.
Cloverfield is hands down the best found footage, it just feels so real , like i could know and have known people like the characters and do and act the same in a disaster situation, and not seeing the monster for the majority of the film builds all the tension for when you actually get to see it
Yes! It's one of the best creature features also. Crazy to me that Sarah would place it so low while As Above So Below is in the top tier lol. But I guess it's just a matter of opinion anyway
I can name you atleast 5 found footage movies better than that, it’s all about taste tho, and i like Cloverfield
The cgi is way too dated now for me to recommend it to new viewers
@@wallaceandgromit99 I know cloverfield and Blair witch had brilliant mkt campaigns. Kinda miss that…
One of my favorite horrors, I will always be crushed I never got to see it on the big screen :C
I'm glad to see someone else who likes Unfriended! I remember when it came out, people made fun of it so much based solely on the premise. I finally got around to watching it when it was added to Netflix and thought it was very well executed! It definitely doesn't get the appreciation it deserves
Oh, also, a hidden gem I would recommend is Occult (2009). There's a part at the very end that's kind of no budget, but the rest of it is really solid and unique in the way As Above So Below is unique. It's realistic without being too disturbing, and an interesting concept. There's some cool elements of Japanese mythology in there, as well! I hardly ever see anyone talk about it
Only reason I didn't like it that from casting on my tv, it's was hard to read since the text was small. I wanted to after the second one, but my eyes
I don’t see why I didn’t like it at first because when I finished it I’ve never judged a book by its cover again
I LOVE this movie. I know it's not the best thing ever made, but for some reason, it's a movie that I can watch over and over again, which is rare for me. There are tons of great movies that I csn only stand to watch once, but I have watched this one AT LEAST 15 times. Reading your comment has inspired me to watch it again right now 😂
you should definitely do a tier list of horror movies with plot twists!
Agree!
sometimes knowing that a movie has a plot twist kind of spoils it for me
paranormal activity scared me so badly. I was 12 when my mom took me to see it in the theater and she had me convinced it was real and the fear I felt from that movie... wow, I have never been so scared in my whole life.
Congrats on the baby!! Awesome to see that you’re already active on the horror channel again, even if it’s pre recorded!!
I remember when I 1st saw quarantine. I literally couldn't sleep that night. All I kept think was how plausible it actually is for a scientist to go of the deep end and do gain of function research on something like rabies. The whole attic scene scared me pretty good. I know this isn't a found footage movie, but I have to say that none of these movies scared me more than hereditary did.
Poughkeepsie tapes is definitely a rough watch but it's soooo good. Very well executed found footage concept and the reality of the premise is what really sells it.
rip, I love The Visit! The old people were creepy cause they were acting creepy lol not just cause they were old. definitely has replay value too. Not perfect but “underrated gem” would be a good 6th tier.
Seeing Blair Witch in middle school is probably the reason I love this genre so much! I see I have a few movies to add to my list thanks!!!!
I'm definitely interested in watching more found footage films, especially lesser known ones. Also, omg! Congrats on the new baby! Hope you and her are healthy and that you get as much sleep as possible whenever you have the change!
I was in complete shock when you put The Visit in the "ban" tier. That's a greeeeat movie. The rest of the list is pretty much correct
Yeah i agree that movie was great but creepy😅
Me too! I was shocked as well. Love The Visit. Some creepy scenes
Congratulations on your baby girl!! Your found footage videos are my favorite ❤️ such a nice treat while you’re recovering! Take care of yourself ❤️❤️
Hoping you and baby are both doing well ❤️ I will definitely have plenty of recommendations from this video to watch while awaiting your return! Take all the time you need and enjoy being a new mom!
Lake Mungo should at least be a Hidden Gem (to me it is perfect). It is not relentlessly scary, it is the key revelation that - when you think back to the events of the movie, makes everything truly chilly and scary. And then there is this theory floating around Reddit…
I’m glad that both Unfriended and As Above so Below are in the top tier. I loved both when they came out and somehow it seemed that I was the only one who appreciated them. Now they are both small classics.
As Above so Below is weird to ne becouse its also the title of my favourite comedy lol but it is really good
What theory? That her brother fucked her or killed her or whatever?
I do wonder sometimes how the movie The Descent would have worked if it was a found footage film instead (but obviously told from different POV cameras on their helmets)
Can we just appreciate the love and care PossessedByHorror puts into these videos!
Paranormal activity 3 was the best of the series. It was the 80s one, great scares and good pacing.
Cloverfield was probably the first scary movie I watched as a kid definitely the first found footage one and honestly it holds such a special place in my heart everytime I rewatch it, it still gets me. It sparked my love of found footage so I give it a lot of credit for that (we don’t talk about the sequels)
If you like more alien/sci fi FOUND FOOTAGE movies then I recommend you watching these:
Area 51 (2015)
Chronicles (2012, also MUST WATCH, it's rlly good)
Alien Abduction (2014)
The Phoenix Incident (2015)
Apollo 18 (2011) (must watch as it's my favourite)
I just love found footage films in general, especially when it comes to sci-fi/monsters
Also, Apollo 18 is a gem
Thanks man
i Know everybody hates this movie, but i really enjoyed The 4th Kind
Area 51 is so underrated, troll hunter surprisingly very good also

Definitely need to watch some of these! Thanks for the video Sarah and congratulations again on babygirl❤️
Congrats on the baby! I'm so crazy with found footage that I always love almost all - my favourite movies list is full of home invasion and found footage, it is just an easy recipe that opens space for creativity and diffirent movie!
Quite chocked at myself for finding new found footage!! Thank you!! I've seen most of them and I'm always on the lookout for new ones, they also my favorite style of horror movie - the vibes and how you get to feel the way the characters feels - there's something really unique in found footage.
I got some more for you. The one that is criminally good is The posession of michael King. It's S tier. Then there is one called Classroom 9, a group spends a night at a supposedly posessed classroom/school, it's gonna be abit harder to find but pretty damn good. Then there's, one called The Museum Project on youtube that's a short one and quite good! It's low budget done properly so to speak!
Aint no way you put the blair witch remake as a perfect recipe
i feel lake mungo was brushed aside a bit too quickly. i don't think the movie was supposed to be super scary but rather more emotional. in that sense, i'd put it in perfect recipe. i'll say though, when you think more about the implications of what happened to the girl, it becomes harrowing
Its overrated
@@aurwood68 elaborate then
@@aurwood68 its a better film than blair witch
not you naming the only iphone that does not exist 7:45 😭
LMAO
Also, really sad Spree wasn't in this. More just comedy slasher than horror but still unnerving, and the way it uses so many types of types of footage from livestreaming, snapchat, youtube videos etc is really cool.
Spree was way better then dash cam imo 😢
@@KittyChibiWaifu agreed, and Joe Keery played the part to perfection!
So happy this list is out and so happy for you and you baby girl
Conrats on the little one!!! And thank you sooooo much for doing this list found footage is up there with one of my favorite sub genre of horror films!! Happy holidays and have a wonderful new year!!!

Some that I would recommend: Home Movie, Savagelands, Exhibit A, Occult, Trollhunter, Digging Up The Marrow, Butterfly Kisses, and I have a soft spot for Always Watching, A Marble Hornets Movie.
i love found footage horror and i love your tierlists!! glad to see both in one video
Devils Pass is a hidden gem IMO. With a real twist of an ending. Check it out
I love found footage and I’m so excited to watch some of these I haven’t seen because based on your previous videos, we have very similar tastes! I also watched Gonjiam around Halloween week and I was so freaked out and I’m so glad I saw it and know it exists because of you :)
Eeeeekkkkkk!! I'm so excited for you. Few youtubers have kept my attention for years. I never miss a video on this channel. Your baby is one lucky little one 💓 I wish the 3 of you the best and hope everything goes smooth and as peaceful as possible for yas! See you when you return 🎄❤️
My two favorites are Creep and Be my cat. :D A few other especially good ones would be Hell house LLC, Butterfly kisses, Incantation, Host, and Deborah Logan. Such an amazing genre of movies! 🖤
Also: Congratulations on your new little baby! 💖 Take good care of yourself now 💗
Last category should’ve been called “should’ve stayed lost”!!! Congrats on your baby girl!!!
You always make the best tier lists!! 🧡💕
One of the best parts of found footage is how it lives in your head over time. You can't adequately judge one right after watching it. Movies like Deborah Logan, Borderlands, and Hell House are S tier for me because of certain moments in the atmosphere that just exist inside my mind and every time someone mentions them I'm immedately grasped by the experience
I would HIGHLY recommend watching a pseudo-doc, called Horror in the High Desert. It’s about a hiker who went missing, after discovering a cabin in one of the most remote remote areas in Arizona. It’s loosely based on the very true story of missing hiker Kenny Veach. The last 15 minutes of the film, creeped me to 11, and I don’t scare easily.
I couldn't agree more about The Tunnel, omg. One of my all-time favorites. The atmosphere, the acting, and the premise are all great. Plus I remember it giving me CRAZY nightmares the first time I saw it.
It really is almost impossible to find (buuuut anyone who's interested should type "The Tunnel 2011" into the youtube search bar hehe)
Do you know any simmilar movie to the tunnel, just watched it yesterday and its sickk
YESSSS POSSESSEDBYBABY IS FINALLY HERE ❤❤❤
Great Tier List, Sarah!!! Congratulations!!!!
Here you are a few hidden gems:
Ratter (2015), Delivery (I) (2013), Jeruzalem (2015), Butterfly Kisses (2018), Long Pigs (2007), Next of Kin (2021), Hangman (2015), The Last Horror Movie (2003), My Little Eye (2002), Home Movie (2008), Chernobyl Diaries 2012.
Saw butterfly kisses for the first time this past fall and was really pleasantly surprised. I'll be checking some of these out for sure 👀 thanks!!
I watched Chernobyl Diaries recently because I remembered it being found footage but it’s actually not. I feel like I’ve experienced the Mandela Effect but seriously, watch again! It’s shot in a found footage style, but the camera isn’t actually being used by any character. It’s just shaky and handheld. Such a weird choice, definitely should have actually been FF!
Next of kin: is it the one directed by Atia Anyadiegwu or the one directed by Dean Marriott?
@@kriskelchtermans8594 it`s the one directed by William Eubank
@@dobrindobrev-dodo3296 Ok, I see. I was just looking for Next of kin. Not for the Paranormal activity franchise. Thanks for helping me out.
I love when you do the tier lists! I look forward to more, but not sure if there's any more to do....lol
Lake Mungo disrespect WILL NOT BE TOLERATED MISS!!
CONGRATULATIONS on your new baby girl! Take the time to cherish every moment.
I freaking loved the gallows and I think it’s because I watched it in the right setting: me and a friend alone in the theater at night. We thought we’d be making fun of it but we were both exhausted from a long day abs it just ended up freaking us tf out.
Nice list, but I couldn't find my favorite here - The Borderlands (also known as Final Prayer). It's a really dark and Lovecraftian film that turns grim beyond measure towards the end.
yes I totally forgot that one in the video it’s SO GOOD
So glad somebody is talking about Afflicted.. saw it way back when it came out. I love it
Congrats on the baby! My best friend is literally about to be in labor soon! She asked me be the weird aunt since I’m an only child 😊
Unsane isn’t found footage I don’t think. Yeah it was shot with an iPhone but none of the characters were filming it.
Devil's Pass was my first horror movie I ever watched! I was so glad to see you include it!
The Poughkeepsie Tapes might be the most disturbing thing I've ever seen. I had to watch numerous reviews afterwards to convince myself it wasn't real. I've never felt so gross after watching a film before.
Me too. Something in the depravity is worse than dark
I just watched it, and I’m someone who can’t really find a movie that scares me. That film got under my skin and chilled me to the bone
I think the only way that my girlfriend and i got through it was because we thought it after a few attempts was pretend it was a dark comedy. But some of the scenes went on a little too long to justify our laughs. It's honestly a waste of time in my opinion.
Just saw it. Thought it was pretty good except for some of the weirdly bad acting. But then the scene in the police car has some of the best acting I've seen in a horror movie I've ever seen lol
“Ratter” is an A+ hidden gem. Such a good movie
First: congratulations!! Second: Awesome tier list! Found footage might be my fav horror subgenre. Also, I'm happy The Tunnel made its way to you. I was so worried it was gonna get lost in the mail, lol.
WELCOME BACK QUEENIE
Horror movies always grab my attention. A few of the ones on this list I checked out in the middle of the night after searching through titles and not knowing what to watch. I always end up in the horror section 😄. Thanks for the list, you named a few I haven't seen yet!
Congrats on the baby girl! :)
Another found footage movie that I personally love is "Heilstätten" (or Haunted Hospital) from 2018. It's a German found footage teen horror set in a hospital - I won't say any more, go watch it, it rocks.
I was so happy you put as above so below in perfect recipe, it's one of my all time favorite movies
there is a found footage movie coming to theaters and to shudder call skinamarink that reminds me of a found footage horror web series/ARG called local 58, witch the type of horror it is is called analog horror witch is a type of found footage where it has really bad camera quality and cryptic messages cant wait for it.
This came at the perfect time! I'm participating in Found Footage February which is exactly what it sounds. Watching found footage movies I've never seen in Feb lol
Honestly so happy to see As Above So Below up there, its such a good rewatch for me and I am annoying with how much I try and show that movie to people omg, I am just such a fan of it.
Congrats on your baby girl!! So happy for your little family ❤
I love found footage! it has the most great films of any horror subgenre imo; off the top of my head (and in no particular order, apart from number 1), here are some of my favourites:
The Blair Witch Project, Willow Creek, Creep, Exists, REC, Alien Abduction, The Taking of Deborah Logan, Troll Hunter, Lake Mungo, Grave Encounters, JeruZalem, The Macpherson Tape, Hell House LLC, Afflicted, Antrum, The Bay, Butterfly Kisses, The Last Exorcism, The Dark Tapes, Unsane, Digging Up the Marrow, Europa Report, Host, Incantation, The Last Broadcast, Noroi: The Curse, Paranormal Activity, The Ritual, The Sacrament, The Poughkeepsie Tapes, Phoenix Forgotten, VHS 94, Cloverfield
You just listed most of my found footage bluray collection :) You should definitely watch The Conspiracy it is totally a hidden gem.
@@radleystark6561 good to know, I sure will
Jeruzalem is so good 🖤
FINALLY someone whom I agree with on the Blair Witch Remake / Sequel from 2016 ! I find it genuinely terrifying, good tension building and the climax is SO TENSE ! Great tier list, once again ^_^
the tunnel scene made me CRY. That was so effective
@@LanderDevosefteling hoh god yes... made me claustrophobic 🫣
@@DawnLex - I have to pause the dang thing, because I involuntarily start hyperventilating...it's *still* that uncomfortable a scene.
@@LanderDevosefteling literally almost stopped the movie during that scene 😅
Oh my god I am new to your channel but congrats on having a baby! Wishing you the best of luck at everything!
perfect for the holidays
I wonder how the footage got lost in the first place.
I can't remember which one, but there was an alien themed one that had people actually finding the footage at the start, haha. I liked that they included that.
I was surprised by how many of these I've seen actually. I really enjoyed the Taking of Deborah Logan, I've actually rewatched it a few times, so 100% agree with your ranking there!
Great video ❤️
When it comes to found footage, IMO, how you see it makes a huge difference. I saw The Blair Witch Project on TV (Commercials break sooo much tension.) with my grandmother, and it was a very disappointing experience. The hype didn't help. I probably would have really enjoyed it in theatre, going in blind though.
Paranormal Activity, on the other hand, I saw in an empty theatre, and didn't know anything about it going in. (I randomly had a free ticket through my job.) Anyway, it was, without a doubt, my best theatre experience EVER. Going in blind, and being completely alone made all of the scares hit hard. It was so good. TBH, I've been scared to rewatch it, because I know the second viewing could never live up to the first.
I watched BWP first time in the right circumstance (1am, alone in my house with all the lights out) and enjoyed it. The problem is it is pretty much unwatchable a second time regardless of the circumstances because as a movie it is incredibly boring and I would almost certainly root for the witch. It's one of these movies can only be entertaining the first time you see it.
Watched The Bay for the first time this halloween and was very pleasantly surprised, it was very good and had that great creepy crawly type of visuals that is great for creeping me out
Noroi is one of my favourites 😆 it has something about it that feels mysterious even I rewatch it knowing how it ends
Creep is my fav FF horror. It's one I can re-watch once a year
Great list! I love found footage movies. One of my favorites that I didn't see on here is the absolutely no budget hidden gem "Bad Ben"
I just discovered your channel and my taste in movies/books is so similar to yours! One bigfoot movie that freaked me out was "Exists". The cover is hideous but there's one part with a bike trail that made me JUMP. Also, have you seen Atrocious? If you're a new mom, it might be upsetting, but that one stuck with me for a long time for how creepy it was. This is such a good list it's hard to add anything to it. You've probably seen all the good ones by now.
Great list I'll definitely have to check out some of those hidden gems. When be my cat came up I was immediately like oh that's the reason for the baned category. I haven't seen it thankfully. I was actually hoping you might include the Andy Baker tapes as I've been wondering if its worth the watch. I guess I'll have to check it out for myself
I was chosen to watch a preview of a low budget film that ended up being named Life of Belle. Family with 2 young kids, older daughter gifted a camera for birthday. Dad goes on a business trip, kids left with mother who is either seeing entities or is going insane. I heard was shown at a film festival. Don't know where it can be seen, but it is definitely worth it.
yesssss! needed this video!
congrats on baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤️
Hope everything went well, and congratulations! 😊
Congrats on the little one! Wish y'all the best! ❤️
I'm surprised you haven't done this already too! I don't see Butterfly Kisses on here but I'm pretty sure you recommended it before- I watched it recently and it was really good. Looking forward to watching more from this tier list!
This is definitely the one I was surprised to not see. Great film.
I'd recommend watching Horror in the High Desert. The first 50 minutes is slow but acts as a build-up to the last 20 or so minutes which are absolutely terrifying. Ive always wanted to go on solo camping trips and this movie has made me reconsider that 😅
"Host" was such a good movie. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I loved your list and I was able to add 3-4 movies to my list of found footage movies that I haven't seen. Thanks for the suggestions!
I watched Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum because of your recommendation and I was blown AWAY. I just started watching this video but I already know where it's gonna go 😌
Me too, it hits the right spot
I have seen As Above So Below twice now and I still don’t understand the hype. For the people that do like it, I genuinely wanna know why
Putting Unfriended in Perfect is insane.... As well as both grave encounters which might as well be youtube videos with a budget
You've talked about Gonjiam so much that i've decided to give it a go and... ohhhh boy it was scary! I don't get scared easily watching horror but during certain scenes i literally had to cover my face and peek. Absolutely loved it, minus the beginning which i agree is a bit too dragged and slow, if not for that it would literally be a perfect movie for me!
When she said it didn’t scare Ryan all I could think about was that one scene where it feels like FOREVER waiting for the jump scare !!! How could you not be scared by that haha
I'm the same exact way. What other movies have managed to scare you?
@@BthIX Martyrs (french version), i was actually horrified rather than scared. Then i would say the first REC, but maybe that's due to the fact that i was really young when i frist saw it!
@@15993dany Amazing taste in movies, dude. Rec is my #2 scariest movie after Gonjiam. I saw it as an adult and it holds up really well.
I also once watched an in depth review of Martyrs that made me too scared to watch it, but think I'm gonna finally do it soon
HTF is Noroi that low down? It trumps everything else on that list lmao. Cannibal Holocaust has every right to be on that list.....it wasn't the first but it very much kick started the sub-genre, despite it's deficiencies it's an incredibly powerful film.
First time watching your channel and this was awesome. I have watched so many FF movies. You really have to judge them completely differently than other movies. Sometimes the fact that they are so bad makes them good. I would love to know your thoughts on the Bad Ben series (I love them!). Also Leaving DC is a great one.
The Visit is a classic to me, I watched it with my family probably a month after it came out. First ever found footage movie I ever watched so maybe that’s why I like so much.
an alien abduction movie that I HIGHLY recommend if you like Phoenix Forgotten, Alien Abduction, or any found footage alien stuff is The Fourth Kind, it is so good in my opinion because it seems SOOO REAL and the visuals are creepy as well and loved the whole conspiracy-ish vibe going on!
I am sooo excited to have twoooo recommendations - The Fear Footage which I had to watch in 20 minute increments - and Found Footage 3D - which has a shovel to face so realistic my face hurt. I would love to know what everybody thinks!❤😊
I loved Ratter, saw it once one Netflix (UK) years ago and it shook me a little, being hacking/stalking via phones and webcams. I never hear anyone mention it. Love that there's this list I can refer to when I'm stuck for a film x
it’s on my list to watch!
@@PossessedbyHorror please let us know what you think! X
I loved Ratter too especially because Ashley benson was the main character! I loved her in pretty little liars 💚
Good list! I would add 'The Monster Project', 'The Possession of Michael King' and 'Jeruzalem' 👍
