Those road paintjobs start making sense after you learn that they literally aren't paid enough to bother with doing their job properly.
I have a feeling that a lot of these are from the UK. Councils struggle enough as is, repair, resurface, repaint only what is needed.
Mostly it's because they aren't done by hand. There's a vehicle that sprays a line of paint out the bottom, and stopping the vehicle to pick up trash screws up the lines, assuming they can even see the trash from the driver's seat.

Workers repainting only the part of asphalt they replaced is pretty common nowadays. That's what you get when governments outsource the work to the cheapest offer. The company that included a complete repaint of the markings in their offer was too expensive and didn't get the job... So after all, literally not paid enough, but also literally not their job.
Having followed behind (not by choice) the vehicle that paints the lines I can tell you the people "painting" the lines never even see what's in the road until after it's painted. The vehicle paints the lines, there's a driver and a person who sits on the end of the truck facing backwards who loads more paint or something.
If my brother saw that pallet he would've immediately quit to avoid responding to concequences. That thing could've fallen and he would've been 100% blamed for it because he let that happen. Plus as funny as things falling is, I always feel so stressfull watching people destroy stock because of their negligence.
I don't think people realize how the lines on highways are painted. We drive a giant truck down the road at 15mph and have people in the back steering independent carts for both white and yellow lines on either side. No one is outside painting by hand, and there's no way we're interrupting the cycle of the yellow skips to stop and remove a tiny obstruction from the white line. It'll get painted again in a few years anyway.

I stopped at a pretzel stand once. They asked if I wanted it plain or salted and expecting them to sprinkle it on, I said salted. Dude opened a tub of salt and slammed the pretzel in it. It was like eating a salt block.

5:09 What pisses me off most about this is the fact that they can abandon a package at your door, take a photo of it (yes, I realize this delivery driver didn't accomplish that part), and then wash their hands of it as if a porch pirate stealing your package isn't their fault. Delivery companies have become package abandonment companies and WE let them become that way.
But what's the alternative? Most people can't be home during the day to receive their package. If you're worried about people stealing your stuff, buy a locker or something.
I can't think of an alternate solution that the delivery company could provide for you.

EDIT: if you just mean leaving a slip, I literally referenced that in my first comment...as a practice that doesn't make sense anymore, as few households have someone there all day long nowadays.

This is taken from the USPS website. "Position your mailbox 41″ to 45″ from the road surface to the bottom of the mailbox or point of mail entry. Place your mailbox 6″ to 8″ back from the curb. If you do not have a raised curb, contact your local postmaster for guidance." So that mailbox is correctly placed. If anything, its the neighborhood committee that is the issue by putting the path in like they did.

NGL whenever I see delivery photos like the one at 5:07 - I just assume the delivery person either failed to deliver or stole my item. I ordered something for my dad for Christmas last year and they sent a photo like that with just the slightest corner of the bag, said the order was picked up at like 3pm and delivered at 3:05pm ... from a store that's a minimum of 30 minutes away. And every time I've had a delivery not arrive or be stolen, I've seen pictures like that from the drivers. I guess they ignore the damn Ring Camera that can see them "put it down" and pick it up and walk off with it.
Granted for that specifically, I later found out they used a random service to deliver - more like using DoorDash [but not that] to deliver packages, and they TELL THE DRIVERS what the product was. So that guy knew 100% he was picking up an iPad - so I 100% believe he stole it - vs. a driver who has less idea what the contents of a package might be ... but still
