- This week on a new season of Palmetto Scene, we take a trip to Charleston to go “Crabbing with Tia.” Tia Clark started this Air BnB experience, and it was recently rated #4 in the world. After spending the day with her, and her assistant Art, we know why.
We learned different ways to crab and how to throw a cast net. Just remember to say “AHHHHH.”

Everyday, back home in Louisiana - Miss it. Great teacher, but we never used our mouth to cast.
is their any laws in regards to how a person can fish for blue crabs. i ask this because i never ever see people using practical traps for catching blues. What i mean by practical, are much larger traps that can hold larger sums of crabs. I always see people fishing one at a time with strings, or those much smaller wire catch dish traps where the crabs can easily escape.
before I continue watching I have to say you remind me of whoopi.....lol back to the video
I've been in Florida for a very short time now and I'm wanting to go after the Blue Crab and possibly Stone Crab down here. What would you say is a must-have for a good Necking net? I love your video. Best I've seen. Thanks.

Rich Mitchell you need a fishing license but no license for shrimping or crabbing as long as you don’t have more than 4 traps out at once
I have been catching crabs the wrong way entirely.
What is your recommended weight for the basket? How many ounces sis.

Please don’t wrap your rope around your arm when cast netting. You don’t know when you’ll get on top of something that can pull you under... sharks, stingrays, dolphins, tarpon... those will pull you over fast and you won’t have time to react when they do
