I LOVE rainy weather. Something about the smell of rain, being chilly, eating your favorite food, sitting by the window /on the porch or just laying in your bed just enjoying it.

PK I recently moved to North Bend, and watch your videos as education on my newly found love of crabbing on the Oregon coast. Thank you for all the videos and advice!!
Great vid. Nothing beats a day of fishing and crabbing. And your commentary is funny .
Im still catching up on your older vids since Im new to your channel, but Im impressed, you are a diehard! You're living my life goals, I live in the rocky mountain desert and would move to the coast in a minute if I could.
Thanks for stopping by. I do feel pretty lucky to live on the west coast. Hope you're able to make it to the coast sometime in the future.
I recognize that dock, my son and I just had our first crab fishing experience there yesterday. Great place, thanks for the awesome video!
Chad Campbell you think I could get the name of that dock. I’m trying to get my two kids out with me to do some father and son stuff. We’ve gone two times to Pacifica with no luck. Thanks in advanced
@@rustycarsmatter6823 Good luck. No one is going to tell you anything. Before you know it, people everywhere, trash everywhere, alcohol and fights, a burnt dock and no more crabs to catch. That's ALWAYS how good pier/good spot goes bad.
@@johnnyle6816
Yeah totally, I always love sharing good spots so others can enjoy them too. This dock is in Florence Oregon at the south jetty, parking section 5. Good luck and let us know how you do👍
good thing about that kind of weather, you get the whole pier to yourself, LOL.
funny how you can always tell what a pier is most used for, fishing or crabbing. ^_^ fishing: small notches on the railings facing inwards. crabbing: big gouges on the railings facing outwards. ^_^
I was wondering why the railings looked like that. Thanks for educating me on that one, never seen nothing like that 👍🏽💯
I just learned something that i will definitely use. Thanks! Lol
“Hey hey hey, no fighting”😂😂😂
I have a friend who crabs in the gulf, chicken is his preferred bait too. Great videos, love the channel.
I miss the Gulf blues. I live close to the Indian River now. The crab taste fishy and kind of nasty. I haven't gone in a while. A few years at least! I'll try again when I can get my salt water license. Money probs.
And someone stole my last pot! Fuckers!!! Grrrr!
Just love watching your videos! Keep it up
PK is so awesome-always makes a great video!
Looks great fun and you get a good dinner into the bargain !!!!!!! over here in northern Denmark we must wait for spring to have a go at the crabs so im happy watching your films for now !!! good stuff mate!!
11:10 that crab was really trying to hurt you cause he knows he's a keeper 😂
crab: hooray, i am a keeper, so what do i get?
man: being boiled alive!!
@@flight6662 first, those aren't Blue's. Their Dungeness, maybe some Red Rock. I'd have to watch again to know for sure. Second, don't boil any crab, always steam with Old Bay.
Edit: After watching again, yes they are all Dungeness. Unfortunatly we don't have Blue Crab on the west coast, which sucks (I'm from Maryland).
that looks awesome, I'd go for at least 2-3 more casts!
Man these don't seem aggressive at all. Blue Crab in Southeast USA will jump at you if you reach for them
@@88WhiteRhino I think you may have misunderstood the intent of my post. I wasn't under the impression that they're the same species. Simply making a comparison comment from what I have experience with, that's all.
Pk what mount are you using for your GoPro?
Watching 2nd time
Fishing relaxes me after work
Always great, and that's the northwest

I love videos like this :)
Another thing I used to do when i went crabbing was using scraps you can buy at the super market or bait stores, they basically use it for chum. you add it to the trap in a small either plastic or metal grate and its just meant to attract the crabs. After doing some calculations on it, it had a significant affect that attracted about 15-25% more crabs per pot. I should say it attracted more keepers. I used a netting that kept all the pieces together with either, with either chicken, or cut bait thrown into the trap.
I've always heard people using wet cat food for this trick but its something to give it a try. I've had a lot of luck with the supermarket scraps, and fish either spines or w.e they give me. most managers know about it, at least to my knowledge. ^^
Thanks for the tips. I save chicken scraps too, even after they are cooked. As well as fish heads/bones.
It's always funny to me how casually he tosses a crab off the pier. Crabs flying through the air like "aye ! Fook you, buddy !!,"
"I might be $73"
Dude that was cool. you did go easy on the crab. cause it really looked like you threw some big ones back in.
yo PK you're really cool! that rough, rainy, windy weather is my kind of weather too! I love getting out and testing my endurance lol. I can't believe you can catch so many so quickly over there. only 10 min??? and 1 pull, dang...now I gotta go visit Oregon again. hey so you should totally rename your video: how to catch crab in horrible weather. everyone knows how to crab from docks now! this is an excellent example of crabbing in crap weather.
What we’re you trying to do with that neon green thing when you were tying down your first trap?
Awesome experience caught on film.
You got to do what you have to do. "Close but no Cigar"!
Nice quality trap made for a nice catch of Dungeness crabs!
I'm like this video so much I love going fishing and crabbing fishing is a relaxing day for me
Another great video, thank you.
Always enjoy your videos my friend thanks for doing them
The crabs be like chicken is key chicken is life
Well you can't argue with them
Great video! You and I both like the same weather!
Cool vid. Alot little ones good sign...from east coast crab blue crabs. Dam hungry for crabs now.
11:05 that crab is like "u fuckin wot m8"
i am here in Massachusetts and i never tried this type of crabbing and i got to say it looks fun ,would you recommend me trying this here i really not sure if we do have those type of crap here but i know we have blue crap i like to try useing pots off docks ,,what type of permits you need if you can help me thanks love the video learning alot from them
I am so jealous! I live in Florida. All I can get is blues. Iv'e never had a Dungeoness because of the cost. It would be so nice to eat a bigger, more meaty crab. I love my blues, but it's a lot of work. Much less juice for the squeeze...
Besides the crabbing, I am quite impressed how you fit all those gears in a corolla sedan. Lol
10:59 Crab does the best Sea Gull impression you will ever hear. Amazing talent.
Crabbing goes to those who resist weather. Nice video. Well played sir
Hello PK, do you mind sharing the app you were using? Thank you.
Thanksgiving just got a lot better
Can you send a link to the place where you got your underwater camera, please?
pk were is this pier in Oregon so when I come visit I can try to get some crabs ….great videos
Nice catch! I worked in Medford about 3 weeks ago ... was disappointed with no crabbing (too far inland)...
Hey PK I noticed that you did not have any extra weight, are these crab traps fairly heavy that they do not need any additional weight?
The tide wasn't moving much that day, so I figured the extra weight/stones weren't needed. I usually put in about 2-3# extra stones if the tide is really ripping.
Thank you, I saw one of your videos where you had some small workout weights, which is what I did with my traps and I just leave 2 - 2lbs weights in the traps all the time, gives me an extra workout. :-) Keep up the great videos and I hope to see you out there sometime.
Great job!
Awesome video
Oh man. That’s nice crabbing.
I’m in South Florida, mainly doing blue crabs. And you’re right. The mesh on your pots is too big for us. We need 1 1/2”, the minimum required by law for POTS, even if hung from piers. And we need 3 escape kulls/rings for smaller ones to escape, plus a degradable panel in case the pot is lost.
Laws are nuts, but no minimum size. You just can’t take females with eggs.
What length of rope should I buy for piers like this?
Riders shows a good sign to fish crabs. That is absolutely a good dinner.
Where do you buy those crab pods?
lotta current on that dock! How did you handle it?
u are an amazing catcher stay good my friend
❤
You should come to Florida where there's no size limit or whatever just catch n cook lol nice video bro
There isn’t a size limit on red rock crabs in Oregon.
Dungeness though have to be 5 3/4”
Hi! Thank you for your video. Mind sharing what specific Lane County park this is? I might try my hand at crabbing for the first time soon! 😊 Thanks again!
seen you pulling your boat in coos bay this Wednesday morning as we where launching ours , how did you do we got 18 keeper dungies and a few rocks and 5 black rock fish and lost 1 big ling to a seal
Where is this doc in Oregon?
South Jetty. Very nice place. I go there several times a year. Would be sweet to run into you there shooting a new video. Your drive looks just like mine. Coming from the Eugene/Springfield area. I've always been crabbing from docks never had a chance on a boat yet. Great video!
Haha man you got some good hands! Even after crab fishing for many years, a few go's per year, I am still very careful with the claws, but you go nuts, claws are not problems at all! Would you say the gloves help you at all with that or is it just experience?
I lived in Alaska back in the late 80's and 90's and had a lot of experience with dungeness crab handling. Caught them all the time, and also worked in a crab room in a fish cannery (Petersburg Fisheries - Icicle Seafoods). They aren't that hard to handle. And the gloves are to prevent cuts/scrapes from their sharp spines. I find grabbing them by the claws to be the easiest, most comfortable for me.
Seems like an excessive amount of bait. Do you catch less crabs with less bait? I don't even use half of much bait and we get plenty. Just curious as to what your thoughts are
AWESOME! I'm ordering that trap off ebay. Thanks
Nice buddy great job
Hi, thanks for uploading the video! Where is this place? We are planning to catch crab this weekend. (Is this weekend good time to catch?) And can the tools rented nearby? And is license required? Thank you!
It's a little slow right now for crabbing on the Oregon coast. This was in Florence. The season picks up around late August. Yes, you need a shellfish permit to catch crabs. I don't know of any rental spots, but I know the Charleston harbor has a bait shop that rents crab traps.
what camera do you use? thats high grade.
the dirty bellies and barnacles mean a fuller crab, its been a while since it molted.
I saw 5 crabs in your cooler when you were baiting your pot from the beginning. . Are those stunt crabs?
PK, which is best... smelly bait or fresh bait like you did?
I do not buy Chicken legs or Brest ,, If you go to a butcher you can just use the Scrap Chicken they would toss in the Garbage either really Cheap or for free they work very well ,, May be add a Turkey Neck also , This is a lot cheaper and just as effective also tides have a lot to do with catching crabs either 1 hour before a low slack or a high slack start crabbing ,, I Crab off the docks all around Vancouver BC
The difference between blue crabbing and dungeon is awesome. Edible meat to body size ratio goes to blues.
Must see videos!!!! TIGHT LINES and SCREAMING DRAGS!!! (FIRST) : ) !
Looks fun, like the weather too...more sport to it
Pk...does Oregon have open and close season of crabbing??? I’m new to crabbing... and where is the good area to go??
In Oregon, crabbing is open YEAR ROUND in bays. *However*, ODFW sometimes closes crabbing due to high levels of domoic acid. Right now, it is open only north of Depoe Bay, and between Takhenitch Creek and down to the north jetty in Coos Bay. Always check the regs before you go out.
Great :D
Hey where is this dock? I live in Portland
Maybe I'm just soft but there's something eerie about the crab rushing into their own deaths, still isn't gonna stop me from enjoying crab tho
Hey PK, what pier is this on the OR coast?
PK Yi in Florence but this pier has a name may I ask what is it call? I would love to get the address to go here plz thanks PK?? N on the MapQuest how to drive here?
Pk yi come si chiama la gabbia blu che usi per prendere i granchi???
I love to go crabbing with my family fishing and crabbing that's my spot I haven't been fishing and crabbing in a while I am 30 years old
where is this place?
Step 1 don't buy expensive equipment.
Step 2 buy a ball of twine.
Step 3 buy a chicken neck.
Step 4 tie chicken neck securely with twine.
Step 5 drop into water and wait 2 minutes.
step 6 slowly bring up and put crab(s) in bucket.
This shit works. Did it in the gulf with a friend to catch blue crab. Caught 35 in about an hour with some Paracord some chicken necks and a net to grab em before they get wise and let go of the goods.
We're is that pier located at sir
The guy making the video sounds a touch like Robin Williams.
🦀 best way to catch crabs 👇🏻🦀👇🏻
czcams.com/play/PLxh8hM9odkrDnQxOLfb8Flpcsq4R6hxVO.html
The mesh size is fine for blue crabs actually.
Hinestly for the price of chicken legs I didnt think it would be worth it over just using the left overs of catch but with the view from under water and how they just stack it really surprises me and sorta seems more worth it.
Where do you get these pods
200$ now dam that inflation!
Too bad I live so far away...I would buy from you in a heartbeat...nothing like fresh crab...and lobster
Hi great crabbing was just wondering if you would be able to give me the dimensions of your crab traps you are using would love to build some for use in Australia .TIA
Going crabbin' was so much fun for a kid, chicken necks and string. Cook 'em up , mom!
awesome, wish i could try it someday.
Nice I want to catch crabs they are good 🦀
Where is this dock at?
Is this in the uk?
What is the limit daily in your area?
"So close, no cigar" *Heaves the crab 20 feet off in the distance*
Gave me a great laugh.
if i could add a yeet for ever time he through a crab back
