Here are the last four trolley lines to operate in New York City: #35 The Church Avenue Line, #68 The Coney Avenue Line, #50 The MacDonald Avenue Line, all in Brooklyn shown operating with the famous PCC (President’s Conference Car). The last line is the Queensborough Bridge Railway, covered in fascinating detail from Queens Plaza on Long Island to the underground terminal in New York City. The film features some of the last trips in 1956 and transportation of car 1001 to the Shore Line Trolley Museum in Connecticut.

I grew up there and lived in Astoria. I had no idea this ever existed. Thanks.

Actually, although as a trolley fan, it was sad to see it go, it was replaced by a much more scenic and fun ride, the Roosevelt Island Tramway!!

Interesting! I never knew there were trolleys that ran over the 59th Street Bridge. (But then, I was too young to even know that and I grew up in Brooklyn.)

@@betard6244 Trolleys and streetcars are the same thing. Trolley refers to the "trolley pole" on top of a streetcar.
