Ha, I forgot to mention that when my dad took me to see Temple of Doom that I was so freaked out when Mola Ram grabbed that guy's still beating heart from his chest; that my dad had to take me out in the lobby to calm me down, and remind me that it was just a movie and wasn't real, before I would go back in and finish watching it. Damn, I miss my dad. To everyone reading this, do yourself a favor; call your dad and tell them that you love and appreciate them. You only get one; and man it really sucks once they're gone.

Fun Fact: The swordsman who Indy shoots in the first movie was actually a taxi driver who lived down the road from me in real life. He was supposedily super angry about the scene as he practiced for months for a sword fight.

Man, the harsh life of the unknown movie extras. Everyone looks at a sick Harrison Ford not giving enough fucks to film the scene properly and 'whipping' out his gun to get it done quickly, while nobody appreciates the SICK SWORD FLIPS AND SWINGS of this dude. Come to think of it, this dude would be right at home in Star Wars. He picked the wrong Lucasarts film starring Harrison Ford :(

To be fair, on the second stage you can stay a bit to the left from where you start to have a bit more room to see ahead and still not get hit by the boulder.
Just make sure to keep jumping when climbing the uphill sections or it will catch you.
Also, the rocks that fall from the ceiling are only for show and the small floor traps won't hit you 99.99% of the time, so you only have to watch out for the tall ones that spring up.

In regard to passwords, a lot of people don’t realize that inputting passwords is actually programming the game to reflect a certain series of information. It’s not actually a password like, “open Sesame”. So games that have A lots of complexity like a Metroid needs for you to program in how many missiles to give you, what power ups you have picked up, etc. Simple action games can’t have short passwords because the game only needs to know what level you are on.

On a positive note the SNES version was released. That's why having and enjoying both system libraries will always be the way to go.

Thank you for mentioning True Lies in the "Good" movie-based games. Too bad if you used the password system in it to start past a certain point, you couldn't beat the game as it didn't carry over a key item from a previous stage that you needed. I can't remember what it was, and a quick google on Gamefaqs isn't helping as there's only one guide and minimal content on the message board of that game.

This reminded me about cliffhanger on sega cd - for the 2nd level being getting chased by something and having to die over and over to learn the level. That snowboarding avalanche thing was just as annoying as the boulder was on this.

I was lucky enough to grow up with this game. It's kinda like Super Castlevania, only with more crazy frantic parts like you mentioned. The bridge level and the minecart level made me rage pretty hard. The plane level is easy once you get the trick. I can't tell you it, though. Top men are working on it.

Actually legit own this one in cartridge form. It is effing hard in that game. Also, the famous “sword fight” thing doesn’t actually happen until the END of the “Basket Game” level, where the guy is completely immune to whips and punches, but goes down with a single shot(or roll).

I have yet to play this through, but I always found it amusing that the very first enemies you encounter are bats that go up in flames when you kill them. It gave me strong Super Star Wars vibes so I saved it for later. I may try it out soon

Speaking of Judge Dredd, theres a good light gun game on the PS1. Thank god my neighbor threw out a pretty good tube Tv a few years back, it even has component hook ups. Its a flat Sharp 25" or 27". Works great! Especially with the GunCons. I made sure to have 2. Id love to see, lets call it a "Cavalcade of Light Gun Games" episode. PS1 has a good amount of light gun games - Elemental Gearbolt, the Point Blank Trilogy, Time crisis, Time Crisis Project Titan, the above mentioned Judge Dredd game, Lethal Enforcers 1&2, Crypt Killer, some Jesse James Western game (I dont feel like looking what its called right now, maybe Gun Fighter?). It may be hard to record thou...

Some elements remind me of Super Castlevania IV... mainly the whipping enemies and swinging from your whip. Plus a dash of Super Star Wars as the video states. Haven't played it yet but looks like something kid me would have really enjoyed.

my favorite Indiana Jones game is always going to be Indiana Jones and the emperor's tomb which was released on PS2 Xbox and PC I believe. That is probably the closest I've ever felt like I was part of an Indiana Jones movie. Fantastic game very similar to a tomb raider but with Indiana Jones flare
Also another great couple of Indiana Jones games are the old Lucas Arts point and click adventures a lot of people really like them because of the choices and the many ways to go through the game well like two but that was a lot for the time . The titles were Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis and Indiana Jones and the last crusade: the graphic adventure

You should eventually do a "Top 13 Best Film & TV Licensed Games on the SNES" list.
Obviously this, the Super Star Wars Trilogy (which pretty much need to be grouped together), and True Lies will all be on there, but what else? The Adventures of Batman and Robin based on the cartoon? Goof Troop? Mickey Mania?
(A Top 13 Comic Licensed Games list would also be awesome.)
