So do you!
I rate this comment 4 out of 5 crosses
Great quotes guys. Hats off to you. I was fortunate enough to see both Temple of Doom and Last Crusade in the theater with my dad growing up. Good times indeed
Ha, I forgot to mention that when my dad took me to see Temple of Doom that I was so freaked out when Mola Ram grabbed that guy's still beating heart from his chest; that my dad had to take me out in the lobby to calm me down, and remind me that it was just a movie and wasn't real, before I would go back in and finish watching it. Damn, I miss my dad. To everyone reading this, do yourself a favor; call your dad and tell them that you love and appreciate them. You only get one; and man it really sucks once they're gone.
@@nickparsons337 I get you. I remember when my dad took my brother and me to watch "Raiders" in IMAX 3D as a re-release of sorts. That was such a good time.
Fun Fact: The swordsman who Indy shoots in the first movie was actually a taxi driver who lived down the road from me in real life. He was supposedily super angry about the scene as he practiced for months for a sword fight.
Hello, you.
Man, the harsh life of the unknown movie extras. Everyone looks at a sick Harrison Ford not giving enough fucks to film the scene properly and 'whipping' out his gun to get it done quickly, while nobody appreciates the SICK SWORD FLIPS AND SWINGS of this dude. Come to think of it, this dude would be right at home in Star Wars. He picked the wrong Lucasarts film starring Harrison Ford :(
Lmao that is a fun fact. I would be pissed too
Well there's a good lesson in your story of The swordsman even if you get really good at something there's always going to be someone to take it away from you so why bother trying. Those are inspirational words of Hope to live by
He does have his reason to be an angry about it but working/acting while suffering to dysentery is not fun time hopefully he understands that and not hate the actor but the cause of that deadly disease.
I loved how in the burning cabin level people in the background were partying as THEY WERE ENGULFED IN FIRE.
It looks like the boulder level should've been a bit more zoomed out, I've always hated levels that had you running at the edge of the screen like that.
Or have the boulder half off the left hand side of the screen. We would have realised what's going on, but it still gives some real estate to see what's coming up.
That boulder level is the cousin of the carpet level in Aladdin.
You can’t quite just zoom out on a snes. They would have had to create all new sprites just for that level. Not to say that they couldn’t.
Maybe it was intentional, since you are in a hurry and are escaping. Maybe it was intentional, that you cannot foresee what lies in front of you. Just a guess.
@@JazGalaxy You can zoom out though. Look at the map in Link to The Past
I loved Indiana Jones as a kid and this was my second favorite game about him. There's no topping "Fate of Atlantis" but this was great, too.
Ohhhhhh, fate is good, I agree
Have you tried "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" on the NES? Surprisingly solid and overlooked (even today).
*FOA* one of my all time top 3 point & click adventures.
The best action game featuring Indy is the original Lego Indiana Jones. Especially in 2 player co-op mode.
I consider Fate the very best adventure game that has ever been written to this very day. Not only a marvel of an Indy game, but still the abslute reference in adventure games in general.
Funny they start with Raiders when Temple of Doom actually took place earlier canonically.
That's an interesting point.
Then again this game took an awful lot of liberties with the source material so that's okay.
Yeah, but Raiders was the first Indy film to be released, so I think they made the right choice.
I don't think there's anything concrete in the movies that makes that clear. I certainly didn't think that as a kid. I think it all stems from an offhanded remark George Lucas made one time. That guy really loves prequels for some reason.
Ever sense I stumbled onto your CZcams channel I have religiously binge watched all your videos. Keep up the great videos SNESdrunk
Ditto!
You and me both!!
It's a tradition for everyone when they first find snesdrunk. Myself included. It's a wonderful surprise.
sense
It's just such a breath of fresh air compared to the overly clickbaity, overproduced, in-your-face style of reviews of old stuff popularized by people like AVGN and Yahtzee Croshaw. Not that I think they're bad, but sometimes you just don't wanna hear anger, snark, or gimmicky skits. Sometimes you want it clear, concise, and basic, and that's Drunk.
I can't tell you how many times I wanted to give this game a chance, but walked away during the boulder sequence.
Try it out again, it's a great game!
Moron :( 👎 what a great game.

Good for you. You learned to use the internet.
The part where Indiana Jones whips enemies until they burst into flame was a deleted scene in the movie. The library actually got fire because this inferno stampede chased Indiana Jones into it. And since the animals were on fire, well, so went the library.
Say yes to the SNES
Yes yes yes
Say Ahoy to the Game Boy
Say "I need this" to the Genesis.
Say "Happy new year" to the Game Gear.
@Jonny Mullen oh no not laggy DOOM.
There's a hidden trick with the boulder stage. Run to the left of the stage wait for a couple boulders to fall and then roll to the right. Boom more screen real estate. The second to last stage can really test ones patience.
Good stuff
I'm really glad of that one day when I went to a free fair and found 6 snes cartridges for sale... ofc, I bought all 6 of them.
DKC 3
Indiana Jones
Ultimate MK3
"Campeonato Brasileiro 96", a hacked version of ISS Deluxe
Jurassic Park
And some other cart I can NEVER remember...
One of my fave SNES games, love the difficulty, the graphics, the music, highly recommended!
If we had an Indiana Jones game as good as this one these days....
Staff of Kings was Rubbish....
@@eamonndeane587
Emperor's tomb wasn't bad though.
@@JohnDoe-wq5eu Never finished that. My PS2 copy was full of Bugs.
@@eamonndeane587
Yeah apparently the Xbox version was the only one that was really any good the PS2 version was apparently the rushed port. That generation was notorious for stuff like that.
I was looking up gameplay clips from this game not long ago. I was considering buying it and still am. After you video I guess I'll have to get it now. Thanks for the content you share.
Nice! I'll give it a try! Have a great rest of YOUR day bro!
I remember this game beeing hard as balls, just like the 3 Star Wars SNES games. Specially the levels where you're outrunning the giant stone boulder from Raiders and then the level, where you try to escape the fire. Also, the enemies could take so much damage, it wasn't funny.
At least it had a password system.
Pretty much a ‘too long didn’t watch’ of this video.
Yeah those are all things SNESDrunk specifically mentioned in the video lol
Great video. This game was far more digestible for me than the Super Star Wars games. Really faithful to the films, designed well with great Mode 7 moments. You nailed it on the difficulty spikes. Glad to see this covered!
I never owned or played a SNES game/console.
But I love to watch you play and talk about some of these games. And see how things have developed.
Wow! This is one I still want to play sometime, I’m amazed by how beautiful a lot of it looks. Very impressive and detailed!
Love how your write your videos. I could get exactly how you felt about game, its difficulty and how it compares to other SNES games.
This game does include the 4th movie in the sense that that was not one of his greatest adventures so it got cut hahaha
That would’ve been quite an achievement. If Crystal skull was on this cartridge I’d be concerned for my sanity for many reasons
What about the 5th one Trial of Diversity starting Phoebe Waller?
I totally started using "have a great rest of your day" tagline at the end of my online lessons. Thanks Snesdrunk!
I love your videos!! THANK AGAIN. YOU'RE THE BEST!!!
Another Amazing review thank you Snes drunk makes my day every time I have 90% of the games you have featured so far including the Japanese titles and I am running out of space to store them lol
In my opinion this game is one of the three good Indiana Jones games that I played, next to Fate of Atlantis and The Infernal Machine, and a great movie to game adaptation. (I was playing Fate of Atlantis when this video about the SNES Indy game came up on my notifications). Factor 5 would later develop the N64 port of Indiana Jones and The Infernal Machine, which is an another Indiana Jones game.
this game is pretty great. i have beaten it. i like that the enemies don't respawn, even after you die. not quite as great as the super star wars games, but still really fun, and they have that feel to them
The 3 to 4 Layers Parallax-Scrolling Effects look really good!
I had this when I was a kid, loved playing it and althought I struggled with the rails escape level back then, I did manage to finish it. Definitely a brutal game.
I remember buying this game when it was initially released and thoroughly enjoying the gameplay. I haven't played it since around that time and hadn't really thought about the game at all until seeing this video.
This looks like an amazing game. How did I miss it. Great video as always
Wow this early upload really maxes the rest of my day I can make great!
Always wanted to get this cart. Thanks for the rundown SNES drunk! Coffee time.
Another great review! Love this guy.
I wonder if SNESDRUNK was wearing a fedora while making this video.
Why make that boulder take up half the screen? They could've just had the edge of it on the side of the screen, and then you could actually see the level you're playing.
Guess they really wanted to show off that boulder. What a blunder
@@DSan-kl2yc Indeed. Quite the boulder blunder.
Donkey: that’s a nice boulder.
The MSU-1 hack is pretty sweet, injects the movie soundtracks back in the game.
I grew up with the movie True Lies and didn't know about the games until I saw an older video of yours. Now I own the SNES, Genesis and Gameboy versions!
man I love your channel thanks for what you do
To be fair, on the second stage you can stay a bit to the left from where you start to have a bit more room to see ahead and still not get hit by the boulder.
Just make sure to keep jumping when climbing the uphill sections or it will catch you.
Also, the rocks that fall from the ceiling are only for show and the small floor traps won't hit you 99.99% of the time, so you only have to watch out for the tall ones that spring up.
In regard to passwords, a lot of people don’t realize that inputting passwords is actually programming the game to reflect a certain series of information. It’s not actually a password like, “open Sesame”. So games that have A lots of complexity like a Metroid needs for you to program in how many missiles to give you, what power ups you have picked up, etc. Simple action games can’t have short passwords because the game only needs to know what level you are on.
Wut
"Why does Indie hate this guy's groin so much" cracked me up SO HARD!!
Thats the brute weakspot
The swordsman doesn't respawn, he only appears at the end of the first Cairo level. As far as the runaway cart, you can roll under it and get on top of it.
Man, my friend and I played this game soooo much back in the day.
You could have just said YES really loud and this video would have been 4 seconds long because this game is awesome haha.
Love your vids man keep it up.
That boulder chase stage is bloody frustrating. And this is coming from someone who enjoyed the Turbo Tunnel and beat it within the first 30 minutes of playing it.
One of the games that i played as kid and im happy to play it over and over.
This was one of my child hood games. Loved it. It was a very difficult game
Picked this one up a few years ago.i didn't remember playing back in the day. Its tough for sure. Kind of pricey too.but great for the collection
I had that one :D loved it. Finished too :)
Always loved this game. Very surprised it isn't talked about more often.
Second favorite SNES game of all time!
There was a finished port of this by Factor 5 for the Genesis that kept everything intact but ran at the Genesis higher resolution. Might have the made the boulder chase scene a little more palatable.
Unfortunately U.S. Gold the Publisher folded and no one else came along to release it. A couple years ago the rom was potentially going to get dumped but that seems unlikely now. On a positive note the SNES version was released. That's why having and enjoying both system libraries will always be the way to go.
Awesome as usual. God-tier infotainment!
Wow. I can't believe I didn't know this game before. Thanks!
Fun fact: This was one of a small handful of licensed games that actually got rereleased on Wii Virtual Console.
I should probably go pick this up before that gets shut down then.
Virtual Console was 1000% better than the insulting selection and even more insulting release schedule of Switch Online NES & SNES games. I’ve cancelled my subscription as it’s pathetic.
I got Dracula x the pc engine game on wii ware. An absolute beast of a game. My fav castlevania game
Thanks to these reviews my SNES collection has grown a lot and now i don't have to worry about getting duds.
This game is awesome! I still have the little poster of Indie that cam with it.
I started doing predictions on the SNES drunk intro theme song before clicking on the video.
This one got me stoked, was expecting a much shorter, blander intro, but got a longer, colorful and very nicely put song.
8.5/10 (Score)
9/8/9/10 = 36 (Famitsu Score)
Factor 5 also did the rogue squadron games, just to complete the Star Wars DNA Venn diagram
Looks a lot more impressive than I would have thought. I'll keep an eye out for it.
This game still slaps! Still waiting for this to show up on the digital store.
Good review, it is a good game, even if a little frustrating sometimes.
Gee! I loved this game back in the day. Fun fact: Indy sprite reuses a lot of animation frames from both Luke Skywalker's and (mostly) Han Solo's sprites from the Star Wars games.
Great review
I played this game as a Kid on emulator and... I liked. Good reviews as ever.
Freaking love this channel..
The falling rocks at 2:10 can't hurt you, it's just part of the graphics.
The plane section is so hard! Even with save states, it's a total pain.
Damn, I don't think I even knew this game existed. I remembered the Windows "Indiana Jones Adventures" and "Yoda's Story" games that were top down, but somehow I missed this and it looks really good.
One game id love to see you do a video on is The Bouncer on ps2. It was such a wild and fun game back when it came out. I'm not sure why it didn't gain the footing alot of other games did but this was a cool game with great graphics for the time.
I always liked this game. I'm surprised it took you this long to cover it.
It's a damn good time. Plays much like the Super Star Wars games, but with a bit less polish. You get quite a lengthy adventure though, as it covers all 3 original films. It looks better than it plays, but if you're up to the challenge, check it out!!
Know that is not SNES but would love a review of the metal slugs... For me they stay today one of the best games to spend some time
I used to enjoy playing this game along with Super Star Wars, Super Empire Strikes Back and Super Return of the Jedi! Good memories but they were difficult without using hacked cheats for them unfortunately! 🤔
i refuse to play Super Star Wars without savestates.
i own all 3 (christmas was kind once as kid) but i never beat any of them legit.
i'm too basic
Thank you for mentioning True Lies in the "Good" movie-based games. Too bad if you used the password system in it to start past a certain point, you couldn't beat the game as it didn't carry over a key item from a previous stage that you needed. I can't remember what it was, and a quick google on Gamefaqs isn't helping as there's only one guide and minimal content on the message board of that game.
The 16 bit era made up for the nightmare that was 8 bit licensed games
Harison Ford to the Forth Movie: "Get off my plane..." >< This game looks great definatly going to check this out
This reminded me about cliffhanger on sega cd - for the 2nd level being getting chased by something and having to die over and over to learn the level. That snowboarding avalanche thing was just as annoying as the boulder was on this.
Factor 5 always makes intense games:) Turrican vibe !
I had this game, I liked that they kept the star wars style of gameplay
Indy takes it pretty cool, being run over by a boulder
He's like "just a headache"
I was lucky enough to grow up with this game. It's kinda like Super Castlevania, only with more crazy frantic parts like you mentioned. The bridge level and the minecart level made me rage pretty hard. The plane level is easy once you get the trick. I can't tell you it, though. Top men are working on it.
Thank you Mr SNES Drunk
That rolling boulder looks really cool... even if it's an annoying level.
This looks dope!!
I still have this cartridge in my collection.
I knew super star wars but i didnt know this game exist. Looks cool the art
Rented this a few times, definitely fun.
Actually legit own this one in cartridge form. It is effing hard in that game. Also, the famous “sword fight” thing doesn’t actually happen until the END of the “Basket Game” level, where the guy is completely immune to whips and punches, but goes down with a single shot(or roll).
I used to love this game growing up
I’m glad I found out about this game cause all my life I had only played the genesis Last Crusade game and god that game has no mercy
I have yet to play this through, but I always found it amusing that the very first enemies you encounter are bats that go up in flames when you kill them. It gave me strong Super Star Wars vibes so I saved it for later. I may try it out soon
Speaking of Judge Dredd, theres a good light gun game on the PS1. Thank god my neighbor threw out a pretty good tube Tv a few years back, it even has component hook ups. Its a flat Sharp 25" or 27". Works great! Especially with the GunCons. I made sure to have 2. Id love to see, lets call it a "Cavalcade of Light Gun Games" episode. PS1 has a good amount of light gun games - Elemental Gearbolt, the Point Blank Trilogy, Time crisis, Time Crisis Project Titan, the above mentioned Judge Dredd game, Lethal Enforcers 1&2, Crypt Killer, some Jesse James Western game (I dont feel like looking what its called right now, maybe Gun Fighter?). It may be hard to record thou...
Some elements remind me of Super Castlevania IV... mainly the whipping enemies and swinging from your whip. Plus a dash of Super Star Wars as the video states. Haven't played it yet but looks like something kid me would have really enjoyed.
I always hated those scrolling stages in platformers where you're being chased by something.
I still have the cartridge lol. This game is excellent, i beat it many times as a kid and even wrote down ALL the passwords in a "videogame notebook"
my favorite Indiana Jones game is always going to be Indiana Jones and the emperor's tomb which was released on PS2 Xbox and PC I believe. That is probably the closest I've ever felt like I was part of an Indiana Jones movie. Fantastic game very similar to a tomb raider but with Indiana Jones flare
Also another great couple of Indiana Jones games are the old Lucas Arts point and click adventures a lot of people really like them because of the choices and the many ways to go through the game well like two but that was a lot for the time . The titles were Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis and Indiana Jones and the last crusade: the graphic adventure
Indy learned that whipping things until they burst into flames things from Simon Belmont aka Alucard.
This game was so hard when I was a child playing my SNES - I wish they’d port it to the Switch
You should eventually do a "Top 13 Best Film & TV Licensed Games on the SNES" list.
Obviously this, the Super Star Wars Trilogy (which pretty much need to be grouped together), and True Lies will all be on there, but what else? The Adventures of Batman and Robin based on the cartoon? Goof Troop? Mickey Mania?
(A Top 13 Comic Licensed Games list would also be awesome.)
Absolutely love this game
