LET'S GO, LET'S GO, LET'S GOOO!!!
I hope ur barrel arrives safely 🇨🇦
It was nice of you to remember everyone back home 🇯🇲
We usually send barrels twice a year, packed a total of 4 barrels last year. We have a barrel in the house right now lol
Tips:
- We usually pack food (oil, rice, flour, sugar) and any machinery (my uncle is a carpenter) on the bottom and clothing toward the top. Oil around the circumference and rice in the middle, trying to be as level as possible. Then flour and sugar. In layers, as evenly as possible.
- We use canned sardines, sausage, evap/condensed milk, corn beef to fill in any cracks and crevices that appear, to make the most of the space.
- IF YOU CAN start buying what you're sending from early. Shop sales at different supermarkets. When you're doing your normal shopping, pick up an extra one and put aside for the barrel. It can dramatically cut down on the cost of filling the barrel compared to doing it in one weekend. (This is not shade to Rochielin, I know she was only in the states for a week)
- We have a local shipping person who will come to our house and pick it up. It might be more expensive, but if you can't take it like Rochielin did, it could be worth it to you.
- You can ask your shipper if they can connect you with an expeditor in JA. We did this one time and my uncle was happy he didn't have to wait at the wharf all day.
Thanks so much for the tips love .. really appreciate it!
@Candace Johnson... U just gave the whole rundown... This was the longest comment I ever read and it was very informative... Like you sound like a real pro at packing barrells... 👍👍🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
So I pay $30 for the same brown barrel that she bought,; the blue barrel is more money. When I'm packing my barrel I use a broom stick to help push down everything in the little spaces and corners. Another tip- dont be afraid to take things out of their original packaging/repackage . I saw that you had pillows and stuff I would put them at the bottom of the barrel and pack heavier stuff on top to help smush them down.
Love how detailed you always are but in a way people can understand. Keep up the good work.
Thank you hun . Thanks for watching
Your 1st time... Sweet... I been wanting to do it for a while now... 👍👍🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Rochelle, your content is always on point.....love and nuff respect 🖤💛💚🇯🇲🇬🇧
One time I cried because I couldn't close the plastic barrel lol. So I called the shipping people who was coming to pickup the barrel and the laugh and said they will close it. Then they let me sit on top of barrel while the two of them close it, they wire it very good too. Most shipping company will drop barrel off for you to pack and come back to pick it up when it's near shipping time.
Hi, Rochielin. I'm sure many will find this informative.
Thanks for sharing, this is very informative, keep us posted when your barrel arrive 👍💕💕.
Will do! 💕
I find packing a barrel very stressful , hence the reason I’ve only done it 3 times in my life. Well done for preserving and delivering the packed barrel to get a cheaper price. 💞🥳🙏🏾
When u arrive. Declare to customs that u shipped & they'll give u allowance to help with the barrel cost at customs .USD $250 allowance covers a barrel you'll pay Jmd $ 1500 at customs without the allowance you'll pay Jmd $6500 if it's only food, clothing, toiletries or household items.
Hope this helps.🤝
Thanks for the info love
You just helped me thanks
When did the allowance drop from US$500?????? Omgoshhhh!!!!!
@@1simonese I thought same... I thought it was $500
@@cinceresmith3989 it's still $500 however 500 can cover 2 barrels and allow u to pay $1500 but since she just sent 1 barrel I'm just leaving tips
Just love your channel watching in all the way in London Roch lets go keep going😘😘

I often pack and ship barrels to Belize. When I'm through packing I have my son or daughter stand and jump up and down a little in the barrel when I'm done. That is just to have more space and make it easier to close.

My family use Dennis Shipping for years. They picking it up is so much more convenient, especially if you live and work in the US. Can't wait to see what the clearance process is like for you in JA.
Thanks for sharing love. I can’t wait tooo
Dennis Shipping is the best very professional shipped several barrels with that company to Trinidad will highly recommend them👍🏾
Everything is very organized the way it should be.
If your clothing has tags on them they gonna charge you more so make sure all price tags or off,I hope the process goes good for you in Jamaica now that they have done new construction and revamped everything
Cant wait for the receiving video... hope its as easy as sending it... which i know its not.. 👍👍🇯🇲🇯🇲
I hope so too
Can't wait to see the receiving part of it
Coming soon love! Thanks for watching

$6500 standard for customs duty
$4500-5500 warehouse charges at wharf(TLF)
$5500-6000(agency documentation fee and ims4 S.A.D document)
@@keithoncarter7158 madness them can get everything a Jamaica for me it not worth the hassle or the ungratefulness plus them a tell yu them want name brand that I don't wear because I am not fattening rich people pocket out of what I don't have and turn around and give them free advertisements I go home and them dress better than me and good for them. Them rich a Jamaica some can't even pay them rent but dress to the nines hats off to those that can spend big.🤗
Informative Rochelin
Thank you very much for the info I appreciate it ❤❤❤
Wow that was nice and quick yes girl nice video
Shipping the barrel SUPER easy... Clearing the barrel... God guh wid yuh! also... when customs opens the barrell squeezing the things back in gonna be a problem since it took 3 of you previously, dunno if it has changed but if you can take a small bag with you to drop some of the small things that can't be squeezed back in the barrel that helps.
Exactly what I do the stuff won't be able to fit back inside the barrel so the extra bag helps .
Thanks got this suggestion. Will definitely take a bag!
Can't wait to seen you reciveing it in Jamaican...
Thanks for the tips. Watching from New York
Thanks for watching 😁😁😁😁
Thanks for such an informative video.
It's standard price for barrels. But if you are sending box it cos more, they recond the box takes up a crate.
*Clothes/Food one is $6.000 and one $5.000 plus thefee and this is from any country .
Thanks for this!! I definitely learnt something.
You’re most welcome . Happy you learnt!
Great job again charming one.😘
That barrel probably only have in clothes because if you have cans bags of rice and oil etc you can't even move that thing. Big up to you guys for doing all that work .
Lol as I watch you trying to close the barrel. Remembering how I had to sit on mine to close them.
If you get the space safer plastic bags with air pump and put your things in them and extract the air you get more things in there with space leave over.
You are getting close to 50,000 subs. Do you have anything special planned for your subs to mark the milestone?
What are your suggestions ?
Good job sis keep it up
Very informative, thank you♥️
No prob love!
Thanks for the Info Roch!
You’re welcome love
Its hard better in boxes i was told holds more. But am glad u got it done
When you get back to Jamaica, notify customs that you shipped a barrel. That info will be inputted into the system, so when you go to clear it at wharf. When you go to clear it, the clearance cost will be less and that will be great for you.
That's so cheap and so quick to ship. But then again I'm usually sending barrels from the UK. It's roughly £130 per barrel or box. And then 8000jmd to clear each barrel. And it takes 6 weeks for a door to door service.
Great and educative vlog.
I have used Dennis Shipping before in New York and it was a good experience .
That’s great !
Barrel a stress, but it seem more stressful in Jamaica when you go to clear it. Unless it's more organize now, the cost they tell you to clear it in Jamaica is usually more when you get there.
Thanks for the info I'm planning on shipping one soon
You’re most welcome!
Nice I like your vibe...good video.
Gotta see this... 👍👍🇯🇲🇯🇲🇺🇸🇺🇸🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Good luck. Shipping for 30 years #NYC NO PROB.
Thank you for sharing!
Yup packing barrels is not easy girl it's a workout. Lol. I ship all the time back home to Grenada. Dennis Shipping is very reliable, my mom used to use them.
It’s sooo hard to pack .. lol
I should do a vlog on packing barrels. I could get those things in that barrel and have it half full.
@@eileenwatt8283 please do it!
Hi Rochielin. Did you ever do the video on collecting the barrel? I am not seeing it on your channel.
I live in Brooklyn and only use Dennis Shipping , I use the door to door services it’s more expensive but worth it
Thank you for this Video ...
Yes it is verry interested we love it
I learned a lot. Very interesting.
Thanks you so much rosanna
Thanks for this. Are u still planning on posting the receiving part in Jamaica? I've never shipped or received a barrel and I am strongly considering it. Please let me know what the experience was like and if u recommend it.
Thanks you help me a lot
Wow grate job ❤️
Gm... Rochiclun, and families, so good seeing you again, I do that regular for my families back home..
I used Dennis shipping a few years ago and it was a good experience. I'm an interior designer and they shipped furniture to Jamaica for me for a client. Everything went smoothly. Some of them give low quotes over the phone, but it's not how it goes.
Wow. I would love to hear more about shipping furniture, I would like to ship a bedframe and have been scared it would be costly
@@YourJobMate you'll need the dimensions and weight of what you're shipping and call for a quote.
The best shipping company right now McFarlane Shipping
Thanks for this information thanks
Don’t know why it is different in Florida but Dennis is the shipping company that I used in NY they never change extra for pickup also I used super jumbo plastic barrel that cost me $40 the plastic one is better because you could do a lot with it after.
Hi where do you get the jumbo plastic barrel for $40
@@genevekisson8639 i
In New York but that was then they went up.
Great information
How do I ship from Jamaica to America? No one seem to know.🤔 Please do an episode on that. Thank you🙏 I always enjoy your vlog💕
Thats an expensive venture. A few years ago it was $400.00 per barrel
The receiving part is gonna be more expensive than was told to you, as the cost she told you is their fee you have to pay port fee plus when your barrel is checked by custom they might charge you extra, thats from numerous experiences both in Kingston and Montego Bay
😭😭
@@Rochielin just be honest when talking to the custom personnel, being that its just one barrel they won't be too hard on you
Big up yuself❤💛💚
You need to sit on the top of it. Roll the clothes and put in barrel, put small item in running shoes or in shoes. DENNIS SHIPPING IS GOOD TO SHIP WITH.
Appreciate it. I was just trying to figure how to pack to move. Have you heard of anyone coming over by ship, instead of by air?
I know there is a service for returning residents .. google it love
Next time get Ziploc vacuum storage bag for all fabric clothe sheets towel etc pack shoes in shoes from smallest size to biggest Dennis shipping is good also econocaribe as well standard rate for clearing now is basically $6500 and broker fee is maybe $5000 good luck
I have a service I use in Bklyn, they deliver it in two weeks directly to my family’s door. It’s expensive, but completely worth it. My family didn’t have to go to the wharf or pay any fees. Everything was included in the price I paid here.
I only purchase the blue plastic barrels.
Me too,
What's the service?

Do Dennis to pick up in st. Augustine Florida
After you finish to packages the Drum Do you wrapped IT with the plastic before shipping?
Thanks for sharing
Im wondering if its more to send it too Montego bay? Thanks.
If you took all that stuff as luggage on ur flight back to Ja.....it would probably cost you 3-4 times that amount on an Airline ‼️🇨🇦
Dennis Shipping is a good one
Easiest way to close it is to stand or kneel directly on the top of the barrel
