The 2005 Fantastic 4 was superb casting. Each actor nailed their character in both looks, personality and simply the vibe you got off them. Gone are the days of casting for talent or to mirror the actor with the character. As we all know these days an actor is cast first and foremost for their skin color, sexual orientation or political views.

      That was the script though.
IMHO the script was bad on so many levels that I don't blame any single actor for it.
It didn't just do all the characters dirty, it did the entire sequel premise dirty for both Strange AND Wanda given that:
#1. Strange and Mordo had an epic confrontation waiting to happen in DS2 - not Strange and Wanda.
#2. Wanda already resolved her issues in WandaVision which just made MoM seem like it was kneejerk thrown together at the last minute with Wanda as the villain simply because they couldn't think of something better that wasn't based on an end credit scene from 5 years earlier.
They really missed a trick in leaving developing the Strange/Mordo emnity out of Thor Ragnarok or Black Panther or (somehow) Captain Marvel - huge botch job.
Having Strange/Mordo in Thor Ragnarok would have made far more sense than the Hulk anyway - and we could have had them set their problems aside to fight Thanos together for Infinity War.

I meant how Ledger was following in the footsteps of other actors who'd played the role of the Joker. Even in the Dark Knight, there are homages to Cesar Romero's Joker. He put his own stamp on it, for sure, but there are many performances of the role that one can compare.
Rdjr didn't have that with how he played Iron Man. Nobody had played him in Live action prior to this.
      As for Rdjr's acting.
Watch RDjr in Chaplin (1992), where he plays Charlie Chaplin. He was Oscar nominated for the role, and was 27 at the time he played the part. He does his own stunts, including backflips, rolls and hand stands. The same stunts Charlie Chaplin himself performed.
Geraldine Chaplin, Charlie Chaplin's real life daughter (she plays Charles Chaplin's mother), lost her composure during one scene with Rdjr, as she said he looked so like her father, she thought he WAS her father. They had to give her a moment, to let her get herself together, or else they could not film the scene.
Iron Man is a film that brought him back from the acting wastelands, and while I'm not a fan of the film, he had no template to follow in terms of how to play the role.
I really love how Ledger played the Joker. I think The Dark Knight should have been nominated for Best Picture. It's a film I revisit quite often. The Dark Knight Rises, however... I saw it once, and that was enough.

So then they give Krasinski that stupid script and he was wasted in a mess of a movie, with Mr. Feige basically saying "Fu*#@ you!!!" to the fans.

I dont mind the hot take about the FF, but Jay doesn't offer any alternatives. If you disagree with a casting, you have to at least offer an alternative. The whole conversation is moot if you're afraid or unwilling to share what you deem is an adequate replacement. Too many ppl share their hot take on what they think is better but fail to share due to their bias or fear of picking the wrong or worse alternative. I don't think Jay is the type to shy away, but at least tell us what is a good casting choice alternative.

Regarding the age difference between Reed Richards and Sue Storm, in the comics, there was closer to 20 years difference in their age. Of course, this was back when society didn't think anything of a middle aged college professor dating one of their grad students. But, despite being a really good actor, I agree there are better casting choices out there than Pedro.

Pedro has earned the benefit of the doubt. I remember when fans hated the casting of Heath Ledger as the joker. One of many reasons Marvel Comics were special was because Lee and Kirby valued diversity from the jump. If they were around today, fans would acuse them of being woke. This reactionary nonsense has to stop.

About the age gap. I might be wrong but wasn't it established in the comics that Reed was a college professor and Sue was one of his college students? I'm not saying that it's not creepy but I'm just saying that's how I remember it. That Reed was always considerably older than Sue.
That said. I Do think they should have chosen a younger actor and maybe aged him up to Look older so that he can perform the role for the next ten years. 🤷🏾‍♂

Also, as a Latino myself, I love Pedro Pascal, but Reed Richards needs to be played by someone with a Johnny Carson-like face and charisma to his voice and character. That’s how I always saw him in the Jack Kirby illustrations.
