When I was a student at UNLV I worked in the showroom here (when it was the Las Vegas Hilton). Best job ever. They treated their employees very well. And as a starving college student, one of the best perks was the “Help’s Hall”. Basically a copy of the buffet with unlimited food. It was open 24 hours a day for the employees and they didn’t care if you were on or off duty. I took advantage of that fringe benefit all of the time.
Love the parts about Elvis. I never got to see him perform, but I'm from Memphis and he lived there too so sometimes I saw him driving around. His favorite barbecue restaurant was in the neighborhood where I grew up and sometimes late at night just before closing is when Elvis went to get food so neighbors would catch a glimpse of him. That was very exciting.

The Star Trek experience was probably the best "Dark" ride ever... All the human actors evolved to produce this was something out of the world...

So much history there, and that Tuscany Villa…oooh I’d love to stay there (but don’t think I’ll ever afford it lol). But, I wouldn’t mind the room you had there too. Definitely gonna check out those restaurants there though, Fresco looked good especially with the awesome singer! You two sang so beautifully together! 👏🏽❤️💯
We are coming out this Sept. to stay at the Westgate for Bender Jamboree and also GET MARRIED after being together almost 20 years!! wooooooooot woooooooooot! wahooooooooooooo! Going to be one heck of a honeymoon, nonstop music for 4 daze/nights!! Can't wait!

Barry may hold the record but Elvis is still king 😉 Great video Tanya and Dave!! Westgate may not be the best hotel but with cheaper rates and direct access to the monorail, it’s a great option for some peeps! Tanya looked like a natural on that vespa 💜
Yes we have to agree! 😉 It has a great vibe and it’s also a great spot for folks coming to. Vegas Convention Center! Vespa’s are pretty dang cool!

I remember visiting the Star Trek Experience exhibit way back when the place was the Hilton. That was Quark's Bar that you were standing. The Star Trek Exhibit was massive and immersive. Loved it!
The Westgate Hotel is a great price and I like that monorail is so close by. Once you're done walking around the Strip, visiting the other casinos, the trip back to your hotel is just a short ride back on the monorail.
The Osmonds played there too. In fact Merrill Osmond played his last two US shows last year at Westgate as he prepared to retire. I am hoping to see Barry again this year. Love the Benihana restaurant onsite. So pretty.
Years ago we used to stay at this hotel often, we loved it. We weren't lucky enough to see Elvis in concert in Vegas, saw him twice elsewhere but no one can beat Elvis for a great concert experience 😀
I truly enjoyed Tanya and the waiters singing.
You two always know where to get the best food. Love Tanya's singing before the meal. Yum yum want some 😋

Thanks for this. You made my night. Heading to Vegas in February to celebrate Hubby and I’s 20th wedding anniversary. We are going to see Barry Manilow concert first night. Super excited. Funny when we were there last April it was Barry’s only week off so we missed him that time. Upper dupper excited.

I've been staying at the Westgate starting in 1994 when it was the Las Vegas Hilton. I fly in 4-6 times a year and I still love it. Great relaxing environment, wonderful places to eat, awesome staff from Bell-Hop to my Casino Host. It's changed a lot over the past 4 years... but I'm glad it's still here.❤🎉

I stayed at Westgate summer 2022, and I liked the place. It's technically off-strip, but if you like watching sports or shows, it's a good resort. I would visit again.

Thanks for the tour. I'll be staying at the Westgate late next year. My Mom was a huge Elvis fan and growing up I also became a fan because the music was playing often. I wish I could tour the Elvis suite in memory of my Mom. That would be so awesome.

Favorite Vegas Icon, Sammy Davis jr, favorite Vegas performer that I was able to see live was Danny Gans, he was Amazing, he is missed. I saw Rodney Dangerfield also, and he was Great as well.

I worked there in the late 90s when it was the Las Vegas Hilton. I'd have to call my team on the house phone when I'd get lost. Got some amazing behind-the-scenes perspectives as an employee versus as a tourist- many moving parts. Favorite is Benihana's!

I got to perform Harry Belafonte's Jump in the Line on that stage during the Las Vegas Hilton employee talent show years ago with my friend who was dressed up like a hula dancing gorilla! Always thought a lowly cage cashier performing on the same stage as Elvis was kind of surreal but it was an experience I'll always remember. By the way, love your channel guys! Liked and Subscribed!

I stayed at the Westgate 3 1/2 years ago. There was good and bad. The entertainment - great! Barry Manilow sounding like he was still 25 and George Wallace, very funny. I got lucky and hit a $750 jackpot on my first hand of Video Poker so we went to Benihana and had a fabulous (although expensive) dinner. The room. Hummm....the room. We had a room that was about 5 doors down from the elevator so walking was not bad. But the room.....We had ghosts that continually opened the dresser drawers, a bathtub that had continuous running water and a hum that sounded like a roller coaster. We finally figured out the hum was actually the elevators............5 doors down! Maintenance came and tightened the water in the tub, but as soon as we used it, it was back constantly running. Another thing I found annoying was every time we got off the elevator we were accosted by a salesperson trying to shove a product in our face. Nothing we were interested in at all. I told them I would never stay there again, and I haven't.
I get to see Barry perform on 12/2/2023 with my cousin. It's going to be a magical night! 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

Loved this video. I am a huge Elvis fan. I have seen a few shows there at the Westgate including Barry Manilow's show. It was awesome. I have stayed there just in a standard room. It was large and comfortable. I agree underrated hotel.

What an absolutely horrible fate for the Star Trek Experience 😭 Although the footage of the Strip aged poorly, it was the most immersive and most professionally staffed attraction of its kind. I still miss it every time I visit Las Vegas.

It was announced today by the Clark County Commission that they are going to rename Karen Avenue which is directly behind the Westgate. The new name will be Liberace Avenue.

The Westgate was not empty at all, it was actually pretty busy when we were there!
People go to the Westgate because of Elvis .. not Barry Manilow

You need to show the property, do a tour.
The head on the statue of Elvis is not accurate and makes him look bloated, they could have made it more slim and long.
The Elvis personation was terrible when you said thank you very much good luck next time
