Welcome to Taiwan! I believe you guys know that both Korean and Vietnamese celebrate the lunar new year as well since you lived there for a while. Therefore, it’s not Chinese new year, folks. We grew up calling it Spring Festival, Farmers’ Calendar New Year or Old Calendar New Year. I believe some American used it first with limited information and it got proliferated. However, if you pay attention to how US Presidents said it, all of them, as far as I have noticed, they used Happy Lunar New Year🎉! They got all kinds of people originated from many Asian countries working in the office. So, they are more aware of the proper way to call it. FYI. Moreover, some Chinese started translating the English version back to Chinese language and now some say 中國年, which sounds a little funny to me.
Interestingly enough, when speaking to my friends back in the state I often make a distinction between International New Year (01/01) and Lunar New Year and I do say Lunar New Year to them.... but her in Taiwan I've mostly heard English speaking Taiwanese just call it New Year or still yet Chinese New Year. Of course we know the difference, but, when to use which Name for the Holiday? I'm not sure we can know. Maybe we should take vote here. What SHOULD Foreigners in Taiwan call the Lunar New Year/ Spring Festival/Farmers' Calendar New Year/Old Calendar New Year/ Chinese New Year ? @mountainzin I hope we can find the correct answer. ~JB
I am Taiwanese living in the US, and I knew many Taiwanese Americans retired and went back to Taiwan just because of the affordable healthcare. Their pension can only cover their basic cost of living in California, but more than sufficient to live a great life in Taiwan. The bad part of Taiwan is it doesn't provide many high paying jobs that's how it keeps price cheap including medical care. All in all a decent place to live.
Yes, you are Right. There are more and more high quality hospitals leaving health care system. Only rich people can affordable high quality treatment in the future.
The social care is the only fee I am very happy to pay from my monthly salary knowing it will help someone in need. I hope I will never have to use it and certainly will not think I will get more from what I paid for. Stay healthy!
I met my partner on the app. We only meet up 3 times. And 7 days later we start dating then another 7 days after we moved in together. In the beginning, was super hard because we were just at the stage to know each other. But now we make it almost 8 years and going strong.

My husband went to ER for two nights in a row (they could not find out what is wrong) and it costs us $6000 US dollars from our pocket and it's with insurance. Insane.

我記得我高一的時候中午去學校附近的自助餐店買便當就看到一群美國女生背包客在試圖問老闆娘哪裡有便宜住宿的地方還強調不要那種高級的酒店，我排在後面等結帳後來老闆娘用眼神看了我求助我就幫這些背包客叫計程車和計程車司機說明送她們去青年旅館。

@@jimmywang6457 哈！我是聽吳淡如的CZcams,再加上我自己的經驗，最好的用藥是第一代健保，因民眾亂用藥，及醫院浮報，加上有些外籍會用健保拿藥寄給國外需要藥的親戚朋友，自私自利的人，造成很多的浪費，健保一直改革，一直防堵這些洞，變成了劣幣驅逐良幣，很多原廠藥都要自費，健保真的要好好思考方向了！現在很多非健保的全身體檢,要花一兩萬，雷射老花加近視白內障要20萬，光假牙也分很多等級，一口好的假牙，花上百萬的也有，便宜的健保是因為廉價醫生護士薪水，所以越來越多跳出來醫美，越來越多生殖中心，復健科也有非健保體系的，你不知道，可能你還年輕，沒有用到，加油，繼續保持健康,身體健康，絕對是最大的財富。但不可否認的，這些很貴的費用，比起國外，還是便宜，所以也很多人飛到台灣用。結論台灣健保醫療真的太便宜了，真的要好好珍惜，看到亂用的人，請罵罵他們！

雖然替Justin開心他的疾病在臺灣醫治成功，但同時卻又不禁想到，在越南就早知自己需要就醫，卻還是等來台才去看診動手術，是否也是想趁機會“利用”更安全更便宜更方便的臺灣健保呢？
以前就聽過有科技業的外籍勞工就會利用公司健檢專程在台動手術，既有優質醫療，又有公司福利補助費用跟病假，根本沒花什麼錢。
臺灣健保基本上是靠醫護人員的血汗低薪去創造出來的社會福利，年年虧損但政府還是持續撐下去。
這樣的社會福利，短期來台居留，只付過幾期健保費的人就可以動手術省大錢合理嗎？
只能說，希望每個使用臺灣健保的人，都能好好珍惜這個臺灣全民支付、政府贊助的世界一流高優質社會福利，善用不濫用。

他一直害怕醫藥費很貴所以不敢看醫生，他們不太知道台灣健保制度，所以才會一直延遲看醫生，他們來台灣工作一年後他的症狀越來越嚴重，嚴重到有一天需要掛急診，才發現要馬上開刀，所以沒有濫用資源，他們每個月也都有繳稅和健保費

覺得在台灣長大真的會被台灣醫療寵壞，每次我在罵日本有健保還要自付30%超級貴CP值又低（因為日本醫生醫術很差，牙醫最有名是每次去看都只洗一顆牙）我老公美國人就會說美國醫療品質雖然高但費用太貴手術一次就破產什麼的
美國人有醫療保險，但大多有墊底費，就是deductible, 十萬元醫療費，自己很可能要付兩萬。如果再多的話，的確要付幾萬。而且保險是有上限的。的確大病是會破產的。
我住兩天加護病房就72萬台幣 …..😭😭😭😭

可能不知道很多臺灣老人, 大多是子女申請來USA依親, 但是熬過一些時間, 就全部在靠USA福利過活, 隱瞞臺灣的收入, 且一輩子也不曾在美國工作繳稅 !!!! 至少我第一次知道是約40年以前已經好幾十年，很多臺灣人（各地的華人）都如此做，只是他們當然不在網路上作影片感謝USA，也根本不願聲張!!! 其他華人移民不繳稅 ，逃漏稅，或繳少少稅，然後在佔用政府福利補助款的各種例子太多，說不完。少數臺灣人（華人）被抓到上新聞也已經是常常發生。
請問臺灣何時也比照辦理？？？
西方人大多比較有感恩之情感，喜歡大方讚美。
小鼻子小眼的臺灣人啊，難道你們真的不知道全世界最愛計較，愛鑽門路，愛詐騙，眼光短淺，尖酸刻薄的是哪種人嗎？你們真的是笨到死嗎？
然後呢...是同件事嗎??還有假結婚拿綠卡..要不要全部拿來講..健保本就是全國人民支付的..本該用在本國人民身上...不懂為何遊客也可以..還有你第一句就沒口德...就知道你多沒水準..還在這假大方
