  • I finally upgraded the rear suspension on my Scrambler. After a great deal of researching and more than a few years of consternation, I went with the YSS -- no regrets. This is hands down the best aftermarket suspension at a reasonable price.
I don't think Nomad-ADV actually sells the YSS any more, but you could send an email asking. Regardless, they've got a mod that will allow you to increase the front suspension height and a tool for help with the dread front suspension removal & installation (www.nomad-adv.....

Great info. Looking to upgrade my 2017 Scrambler. Thanks for the video

Thanks Alan! I'm still really loving the YSS, best mod I've ever made, can't believe I waited so long.

I'll plow into that water crossing, for better or worse! Maybe a weekend in July that you're available?

Um yes sir! I'm very close to having everything re-assembled, just waiting on swing arm bearings and then I'll be back in action

Voice over worked well; nice little video. Maybe you could make some ppbbbbpppbbbb noises once in while to mimic the “best sounding bike on CZcams.”
How’s the front suspension holding up? Any plans or need to upgrade?

lol -- yes that would be pretty funny! The front is holding up pretty well, I have progressive springs, but I've got plans to install YSS emulators as well. Unfortunately, I haven't done it yet as I hear getting the front suspension disassembled is a real pain, but it's on the list of things to do this summer for sure.

What model of YSS shock did you go with? Does it have a remote reservoir or no? Is it pretty smooth cruising on a bumpy highway?

They are the YSS RG black 360 mm. They do have the remote reservoir. They're way smoother than the stock shocks. You can adjust the compression and rebound. I looked around just now, and I can't seem to find a decent place to buy them in the US. FWIW I sourced mine from Nomad-ADV back in 2017. Doesn't look like they carry them (or any Scrambler stuff) anymore, but they might be able to help you out.

Heyy. Do you have model number of YSS springs you purchased?

Is the YSS suspension softer or harder/stiffer??
I have the TEC shocks with reservoir in a 2015 scrambler and is very hard (all the impact goes to my spine), then i recalibrate and is very soft (it’s awful in the curves). There is no golden medium in the TEC.
    Cheers!

I'm not sure compared to the TEC but compared to the stock it sounds similar, you can adjust it to be harder or softer than the stock springs, and finding the sweet spot is difficult

Where in north Georgia is this, it's gorgeous!

If you take a look at this way point (goo.gl/maps/B4xg5Nkwwfx) -- that is "Raven Cliff Falls Trail" which is the second spot with the water crossing we never attempt, taking a left out of that spot, the road trail is 348 to 180 to 17. I'm not sure where that first spot is at, I'm gonna have to ask my buddy, but I'll let you know!
