The T sign outside the pub at 16:20 is generally always a sign you are in Scotland as it represents Tennents beer which is only really served / advertised in Scottish pubs and is the number one beer.
also road numbers starting with 8 or 9
That round was a bit painful . the T sign, the architecture, "Cromarty", "Kirkwall", everything was screaming Scotland :D

Colombian km markers on national routes:
The top number is the km count.
The bottom number has 4 digits, of which the first two denote the highway number (in this case the 25) and the second two the section number (in this case 08). Sections are never longer than 150 km, but often quite a bit shorter. Sometimes there are some alternative routings in which case there are letters (ir letter/digit combinations) instead of the section number, which are not useful unless you learn them.
On North-South roads, sections are numbered from South to North; East-West roads are numbered from West to East.
The long North-South routes 25 and 45 that go from Ecuador to the North Coast have 16 and 18 sections, respectively, so you can kind of guess where you are based on the section. Route 55 from Bogotá to the Venezuelan border has 7 sections.

for the Colombia round, those kilometer markers do have the road number on it, but it’s not the big number on the top, it’s actually the first two digits of the number on the bottom

Although it's a lot more tedious I think 25k games will be good practice for the world cup. Knowing which info is worth keeping or discarding in a short amount of time sounds like a useful skill to learn

In Turkey I would probably have looked for a km marker on the highway. They always have the road number. That said, many roads are long and consist of non-contiguous sections. But if you have a region guess already, it can be very useful.

Come on zi8gzag - on that Scottish island round at 16:18, considering there was no Welsh language on road signs, street markings, shops etc. you should have known to discount looking at Wales. Also, at the start of the round after looking at the pub you just zoomed straight passed the Post Office right next to it, which if you'd looked at said "Orkney produce" on the shop sign, which would've given you near enough a 5k in just a few seconds.... you also look at but don't read the blue van at the next intersection which says "Orklean windows" that could have also given you a clue as to the Orkneys...
Then later on at 17:01 you say "let's head on to this road and see if it gives us any info" while you zoom past a large blue lorry, which had 'Orkney' written on the side by the driver's seat.
These are the sort of things I'm sure a player like Jake Lyons would read and defeat you on in competition....
As I said underneath your last moving video, on urban moving rounds try and read absolutely everything, including shop signs and side of vans!!! You still seem to skip over too much stuff in some of the rounds on this video.
I do enjoy these moving vids of yours though, keep them up!
Surely those top scores are assisted by web search, alternate Google maps window, etc. Would be easy to search a business name and instantly find it.

Hi Oscar, I got a little tip for you. At 13:44 you said you thought that 'Rouw' could be a placename. I assume you thought that because it said 'centrum' behind it. However, 'centrum' has a different meaning in this situation. 'Rouw' means 'mourning' and so 'Rouwcentrum' is 'funeral home'. 'Centrum' does also mean the centre of a town in Dutch, and it's ''Zentrum' in German. But if it's used that way there will always be a space in between the town and the word 'centrum' or 'zentrum' or 'center' , basically like it's in English as well.

You know I am from Izmir,Turkey and I would not have gotten that faster than you. Only difference I got that it was kuruçay at 19:48, but guess what there are like 200 "kuruçay" in Turkey it just means dry river.

I feel like every round you spend an extra ~20 seconds verifying youre in the right place, even though you definitely have to be. Even if slightly off should still be a 5k. That's at least a minute that could be shaved off the game
